SSEAYP
And I thought it would be my normal quiet Sunday. It is definitely far from it.The Nippon Maru, the Ship for the South East Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP), has docked in Manila. Countries participating in this program have their own delegates as they go through several activities on and off the ship as they share culture, ideas, etc.
Having the ship dock here in the Philippines means the delegates from the Asian countries would be staying with their "foster" parents, who will tour them in and outside of Manila.
There are four young ladies staying with us and they are from Japan, Indonesia, Cambodia and Myanmar. Actually, my niece would be the one accompanying them. With much prodding, I finally gave in. Hehehehe!
Our first stop is at the mall. (The Philippines is noted for its malls... LOL) Actually, one of the delegates has dropped her camera and she wanted it fixed. Since the Nikon service center is at Glorietta, brought them there. We also brought them at SM Department Store, specifically, at Kultura, so they can buy souvenirs. We had dinner at Max's.
So that they can experience Manila at night, we stopped at Rizal Park. Then, we proceeded to the Manila Cathedral. Would have wanted them to go to Intramuros' WOW Philippines but it seems that it is only open every Friday and Saturday. But, they were able to buy more souvenirs there. Passed by San Agustin Church, the oldest church in the Philippines, and strolled at Manila's Baywalk. And before proceeding home, went around the CCP Complex to show them the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Folk Arts Theater, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), and Star City, where we would be bringing them tomorrow night.
