Day 5: Best of Europe & Marian Pilgrimage
6AM call time, breakfast at 7AM and 8AM departure.Left Pisa, Italy for Monte Carlo, Monaco then to Nice, France.
We drove through the renowned Italian and French Riviera. It was raining when we arrived at Monaco. We had our lunch there. Visited the Cathedrale de Monaco and saw where Grace Kelly was laid to rest. We also had our Mass there which are Pilgrimage Chaplain presided.
We only saw our tour guide Anastacia who waited for us for 1 1/2 hours. We have already completed our Monaco City tour when we saw her. She continued after.
Learned that there are only 8,000 citizens in Monaco and about 30,000 residents. The Prince grants only 10 people per year to become citizens. I guess the criteria is that you have to be very, very, very rich (plus tenure). Why be a citizen? No taxes except for VAT.
Then we went to Fragonard Parfumeur where we learned how to make perfumes. Was able to buy Argan oil, which the others in our group advised as very good. For the hair, put it on at least 10 minutes before taking shower.
We proceeded to Nice where we checked-in at Mercure Centre Notre Dame. We had dinner at Le Ligure Nice Restaurant.
