Dinagyang 2012: Day 2
Today would be the Kasadyahan. For us, anyway, the main event is the Dinagyang on Sunday. But it is also nice to watch today's parade.Had our buffet breakfast in our hotel before proceeding to the "stage" where we are assigned. I'm assigned at Stage 3.
Unlike last year where the parade is the "carousel" type, where all performances in all four (4) stages would start at the same time; this year, performance would start at Stage 1 and move on to the succeeding stages. Hayyy.... we would be waiting for a long time before we see the first contingent.
(Who's idea is it to change the style of the parade? Tsk! Tsk!)
Well, one thing is sure, we now know where to position tomorrow in our stage. We positioned ourselves in the (very) sunny side of the stage.
Note to self: Be early tomorrow to be at the shade. Hehehe!
We did not finish the parade because it is really hot. Also, we plan to go to Guimaras Island.
Ate lunch at the hotel, rested while waiting for the rest of the group.
We went to Ilo-Ilo's pier for Guimaras. We would be landing at Guimaras' Jordan pier.
At the pier is the Tourism desk, which recommended the attractions of the island we can visit given the time we have and still be back at the pier the last trip to Ilo-Ilo, which is around 6:30PM.
Hired a uni-cab for our land tour.
Our stops are:
a) Guisi Point Lighthouse (the farthest attraction from the Jordan pier we can go and be back for the last trip)
b) mango orchard
c) church
d) Trappist Monastery, the only trappist monastery in the Philippines run by the order of Cistersians of the Strict Observance
d) Museo de Guimaras
We also had mango pizza at The Pitstop. (Now, isn't it obvious what the product of Guimaras is? Hehehe!)
Upon arriving at the hotel, rested a bit and had dinner.
