Healing Pilgrimage to Tarlac

Today would be the Healing Pilgrimage to Tarlac arranged by Green Faith Travels.

Our pilgrimage bus would be leaving around 5AM from Greenbelt, Makati.  Thus, woke up around 3AM to get ready and left the house around 4:30AM.

On the way, prayed the Pilgrim's Prayer.

Pilgrim's Prayer

Heavenly Father,
we thank You as we come together in Your Name
to be with the community of pilgrims
to share your reconciliation, peace and love
with others in this Pilgrimage.

Prepare our hearts and minds
that we may be worthy to receive
God's gifts and favors today.
Remind us always that this pilgrimage
is a spiritual journey with a purpose
and not merely a sightseeing trip.

Help us to practice the virtue of patience
for whatever discomforts and difficulties that may arise
Grant us the spirit of obedience to be one with others
and to participate fervently in all the activities.

May our visit to various churches
foster personal spiritual growth
with a joyful hope to return in our respective parishes
inspired, enlightened and transformed.

May God protect us and keep us in His loving care.
May Jesus of Calvary and of Emmaus walk with us.
May the Spirit give us clarity of mind,
strength of heart and a sure foot as we all travel today.

All these we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Picked-up a pilgrim along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and proceeded to our first stop, Petron Lakeshore along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX).  We would be having our breakfast at Apag Marangle.

On our way to our first church, we prayed the rosary.

Our first church is Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Hacienda Luisita.

Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes

O ever Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy,
Health of the sick.  Refuge of sinners.
Comforter of the afflicted, you know our wants,
our troubles, our sufferings deign to cast upon us a look of mercy.
By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased
to make it a privileged sanctuary,
whence you dispense your favors,
and already many have obtained the cure of their infirmities,
both spiritual and physcial.
We come, therefore, with the most unbounded confidence
to implore your maternal intercession.
Obtain for us, O loving Mother, the granting of our requests
(state your requests).
Through gratitude for your favors,
we will endeavor to imitate your virtues,
that we may one day share your glory.
Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of Christ,
you had influence with your Divine Son while upon earth.
You have the same influence now in Heaven.
Pray for us; obtain for us from your Divine Son
our special requests if it be the Divine Will.  Amen.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
Saint Bernadette, pray for us.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Our next church is the Monasterio de Tarlac, where we will attend the Mass and venerate the Relic of the True Cross.

"Situated on the summit of Mt. Resurrection in Brgy. Lubigan, San Jose, Tarlac, this monastery is home to the Servants of the Risen Christ Monastic Community.  It is an apostolic-contemplative community of religious mesn who consecrated themselves to a life of prayer and work (Ora et Labora) which was established by Rev. Fr. Ronald Thomas "Archie" Cortez on September 14, 1998.

"On December 2, 2002, the historical ground breaking of the proposed monastic building took place alongside with the blessing of a 30-foot statue of the Risen Christ reminiscent of Brazil's Christ the Redeemer standing at the edge of a hill with both arms outstretched.

"In 2005, Fr. Archie was invited by Mr. Lutz Ruhloff to be a guest at the World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany.  During his visit, he met Msgr. Volker Bauer from the Diocese of Essen in Germany, where the relic of the Holy Cross had been kept for about 1,000 years.  The search for the ideal and willing candidate to look after the relic was finally over.  Fr. Archie who has a homegrown monastic community was chosen to bring home the relic and be its next custodian.

"Upon his return to the Philippines from Germany, Fr. Archie busied himself with the task of renovating the existing chapel.  On January 29, 2007, Msgr. Bauer and Msgr. Alfred Voss from Essan, Germany brought the relic themselves and was formally enshrined at the Monasterio de Tarlac officiated by the Most Rev. Fernando Filoni, D.D. Papal Nuncio to the Philippines in the presence of Bishop Florentino Cinense of Tarlac together with other Archbishops, Bishops and guest Priests.

"The historic Eucharistic celebration was attended by foreign and local dignitaries.  Since then, the Servants of the Risen Christ is known as the new custodian of the relic of the Holy Cross.  The actual fragment of the true cross is encased in a silver arquetta (ark), engraved with Catholic symbols of crucifixion.  The relic is found beneath the altar of the chapel enclosed by heavily grilled doors."

We had our lunch a Tessie's Grills and Roasters along McArthur Highway, San Roque before proceeding to our next church.

Our next church is the San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish in Tarlac City.  Today, at 4PM, would be its blessing and first Mass will be held.

Prayer to San Lorenzo Ruiz

Beloved San Lorenzo Ruiz and Martyr Companions,
to you do we come for help.
Help us to have the same faith and love that you had for God.
We call upon you today on behalf of our ailing beloved ones.
By your prayers and intercession obtain for them,
not only comfrot and peace for their souls,
but also vigor, strength and health for their bodies.
We place our entire confidence in you
because we know that God loves you and that you care for us.
We earnestly pray that our sick ones be purified and revitalized
in every cell, tissue, nerve and organ,
so that the bodily limbs may function effectively again.
Through your powerful intercession help our sick to receive the trave

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Our fourth church is St. Raphael the Archangel Parish in Tarlac City.

Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court,
you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace.
You are a guide of those whose journey by land or sea or air,
consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners.
I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life,
as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels.
Because you are the "medicine of God,"
I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul
and the ills that afflict my body.
I especially ask of you the favor (name your request)
and the great grace of purity to prepare me
to be the temple of the Holy Ghost.  Amen.

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide.  Amen.

St. Raphael the Archangel, pray for us.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Our next church is San Sebastian Cathedral in Tarlac City.

Prayer for Inner Healing

Speak clearly, Lord, into my heart.  In the past, I had been busy with life
and I forgot what it meant to really live.
In the midst of my pains and difficulties, allow me to know you
so that I may understand what living for you is all about.
I am weak, Lord, and helpless without you.
I surrender to you , Lord, all my fears, all my burdens.
I will focus on your truth that you will be with me always.
I will never understand your ways
but I know that you have a purpose for me.
Lord, as I continue this prayer, gently touch me with your healing hands.
You are the Divine Healer and the greatest Physicial of all.
I believe in my heart that nothing is
impossible to you.  Heal my innermost being, my spirit, and my soul.
I know, Lord, that htere is an end to my loneliness and sickness
because you died on the cross and rose from the dead.
From now on I just want to live with a loving heart
and not with a grumbling heart; from now on, Lord,
I just want to live with a faithful heart
and now with a fearful heart.  In the mighty name of Jesus.  Amen.

St. Sebastian, pray for us.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Our last church is the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buenviaje) at La Paz.

Healing Prayer to Our Blessed Mother

Beloved Mother, I come to you with prayers
for healing of mind, body and spirit.
I ask you to hear my special concern (state petition)
and to place my needs before your Son
whom you nurtured and cared for with all your heart.
Help me to release all fears and doubts that cause me anxiety
and bring me peace and comfort through your blessed intercession.

Let me be receptive of God's will
and help me to learn compassion through my suffering.
Teach me to love others as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Give me the strength and understanding
to forgive and to receive others' forgiveness.
Blessed Mother, help me to grow closer to your Son
in everything I do.
Renew my spirit and restore my soul through your intercession.

I seek your guidance and protection,
remembering these words:
"Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit, within me."
All this I pray in Jesus' name.
Amen.

Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buen Viaje, pray for us.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

On our way back to Makati, we had a restroom break at Caltex Mega Station along NLEX.

Thank God for all the blessings!!!

Every night I read one chapter of Arun Gogna's Today Is Your Day. The night before the pilgrimage, the chapter is about healing. Coincidence? Not.
