The Adventures of Gynaika in Strangetown via PerSePhone, Part 5
Division 47Hot on the trail of Doctor Dominion, Gynaika went immediately to Division 47 to meet with Lazlo Curious, Sinjin's cousin. Lazlo was able to get a provisional clearance for Gynaika so that she can meet with General Buzz Grunt and ask for a job at the base.
Barracks
Upon meeting the General in his office at the barracks, she learned that the only job available is a janitorial job. The job may not be that pleasing for Gynaika, but as an after thought, a good enough cover so she can poke around the base without raising any suspicion. Before leaving the General, Gynaika was able to get a star behind the General's desk.
The tasks assigned to her: fix Tank Grunt's computer, clean the barrack's bathroom, and pick up all trash in the laboratory.
Gynaika first fixed Colonel Tank Grunt's computer. Doing so "cooled down" the hot-tempered Colonel.
Since Division 47's store is within Colonel Grunt's room, Gynaika bought some gumflower bulbs, the last item she needs to plant in Hazel's garden.
Gynaika whizzed through the second task of cleaning the barrack's bathroom.
Gynaika's third task would be done thoroughly, that is, poking while picking the trash... LOL
Laboratory
The first door on the right has a metal slab at the corner, which Gynaika learned after is called radio telecommunicator called YETI (Yonder Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence). She found a star on the left side of the room near a table.
The second door on the right has more science things, including plants.
Cleaning the first two rooms completed the tasks assigned to her by General Buzz. Gynaika left the laboratory to report back to the General, looking longingly on the third door opposite the entrance of the laboratory.
Barracks
General Buzz was impressed that Gynaika was able to complete the tasks quickly (or is he?). That's when she remembered that Colonel Tank Grunt asked her to talk to him when she's free.
Colonel Tank has an assignment for her. The Colonel is suspicious of Mister Smith, he thinks that the latter is holding out on something. Mister Smith's name used to be Pollination Technician Nine. When he got married, he changed it to Mister Smith. And that, in itself, is makes him suspicious in the eyes of Colonel Tank.
Gynaika first befriended Mrs. Smith. For surely, the first person to notice something is wrong with Mr. Smith would be his wife? When Gynaika was able to win the confidence of Mrs. Jenny Smith, she confided that every night, his husband goes out around midnight and rummages around the crash site. She, then, asked Gynaika to help her find out what is going on with her husband.
Gynaika, then, talked to Johnny Smith, Mister Smith and Jenny's son. Johnny is having a bad time at Division 47 that he wanted to get out from there. Johnny does not trust General Grant, the one who convinced his dad to bring them in the base. Johnny thinks that the General is doing experiments on his dad and his dad does not realize it! Johnny just wants to get out of the base even for one night and live a normal life.
Gynaika promised to help. She made him a fake ID so that the guard at the gate would allow him to leave the base and looped the security tape so that Colonel Tank would not see him leave (using Colonel Tank's computer).
Grounds
Since it is midnight, Gynaika left the barracks and tried to look for Mister Smith near the crash site. And she did find him there as if looking for something. Gynaika confronted Mister Smith so that he would reveal his goings-on. (There's a star near the area Mister Smith is searching.)
Gynaika tried winning his confidence until he admitted that Jenny Smith is not her first wife, that is, he left his first family behind. (Mister Smith thought that he was able to pass himself as a human, not an alien... LOL). Mister Smith's alien friend came to earth to give Mister Smith a picture book of his family. But humans shoot his friend down. The humans took his friend and the picture book. That is why, Mister Smith is looking in the wreckage of the spaceship, hoping to find the picture book there. Gynaika promised Mister Smith that she will give him the picture book if she finds it.
As Gynaika left Mister Smith in his search, she remembered the third door she has not yet investigated. She will have to do it during her daily tasks so that she wouldn't be obvious.
Laboratory
The following day, Gynaika decided to start with the laboratory. While doing her chores, she met Pascal Curious. Pascal asked for her help as his son, Tycho, is missing. Pascal thinks that the Dudes in Black have his child. Tycho is unlike any child--Pascal was abducted by aliens and when he came back, he is pregnant with Tycho. He suspects either Vidcund or Lazlo to have a hand in the kidnapping.
Gynaika first talked to Lazlo about the missing child. Lazlo pointed to Vidcund as he is said be going with the wrong crowd, that is, the Dudes in Black. With this information, Gynaika then tracked down Vidcund and questioned him about the missing child. Vidcund denies any knowledge and pointed his finger to Lazlo who is seen always with Mister Smith. Now, that just proves Lazlo is not involved in the kidnapping as she already knows the "story" of Mister Smith. Gynaika then accuses Vidcund. She intimidated him so that he would confess... and he did!
Secret Sublevel
The only door Gynaika have not tried is the door opposite the entrance. And it is the right time to slip into it. Upon entering it, there is a long dark hall leading to a closed door that can only be opened by entering an access code. Gynaika tried befriending him but he is just plain grouchy. (Along the dark hall, Gynaika also got a star.) Gynaika opted to intimidate him such that he has no choice but to give the access code (access code to Secret Sublevel is 24601).
Once inside the Secret Sublevel, Gynaika searched high and low until she came up to a locked chest. Prying it open, she finds the picture book! (Near the chest, by the tires, is a star.)
Gynaika moved deeper into the Secret Sublevel and saw several doors. She first tried the first door on the left and saw a crib. Tycho! She quickly picked Tycho up.
She then tried the first door on the right. Near the bed is a star.
At the end is a metallic door. Upon entering, Gynaika saw a computer on the right side. On the left side is some sort of force field protecting an unknown tiem to Gynaika. She tried using the computer, hoping to hack it and turn off the force field. But Gynaika is not successful.
Since she already has the picture book and the baby, she decided to try hacking the computer the next time.
Laboratory
Gynaika immediately looked for Pascal and reunited Pascal and his kid.
Then, Gynaika went to Mister Smith and gave him his picture book. She also told him that she got it in the Secret Sublevel. This angered Mister Smith as it proves that General Grant knew it along.
Just then, Isaac Rossum called and informed Gynaika that while he was going through the things of Doctor Newlow a.k.a. Doctor Dominion, he found a piece of paper saying "Division 47: Or4ngut4n". Gynaika remembered the computer in the Secret Sublevel and decided to try Or4ngut4n as the password.
Secret Sublevel
Back in the Secret Sublevel, Gynaika was able to "get in" when she entered the words written in the note found by Isaac. But the computer asked for futher verification as Gynaika's verbal pattern does not match that of Doctor Dominion (the computer would only give the teleportation unit protected by the force field to Doctor Dominion). Gynaika has to undergo Identity Test... and Gynaika was able to answer the five questions thrown to her by the computer. The force field was put down and Gynaika was able to get for herself a teleportation unit.
Gynaika decided to go home and rest before she confronts Doctor Dominion as she feels she needs all her energy when that time comes.
Paradise Place
Upon arriving at Espiritu Estate, Gynaika paid the bills, talked to Emily, bathe and slept. As soon as she woke up, Gynaika dropped by Hazel's house to plant the gumflower bulbs and teleported herself to where Doctor Dominion would be.
The Monument
When Gynaika teleported to The Monument, Doctor Dominion is right in front of her, as if waiting for her. He rambled on and on. In order to defeat him, Gynaika has to hack in the computer, remove the hyper-attractor from Beelzebeef and confront Doctor Dominion.
And Gynaika won while Doctor Dominion disappeared, leaving his mind control device. Gynaika saw her car being used to power Doctor Dominion's machine (and would now be totally useless as a car) and Roberta's head. When she touched the mind control device, she was transported to the Rossum House where she was able to give to Isaac the head of Roberta.
Free Play
Without a car, Gynaika has no option but to stay at Strangetown. She would just have to make her own adventure...
