You're My Destiny (Fated To Love You)

You're My Destiny is a Taiwanese television series about a chance encounter by Chen Xin Yi (Joe Chen), known as a "sticky note girl"--someone helpful but easily dispensed with once a task is completed-- and Jo Cun Xi (Ethan Juan), a wealthy sole heir of a toiletries company whose family is "cursed" to only have one child.

Promotional poster

Xin Yi pays and plans for a romantic cruise with her boyfriend Gu Chi, hoping to lose her virginity to him to hold on to him while Cun Xi plans to propose to his long-time ballerina girlfriend Anna (Bianca Bai).  Gu Chi was caught cheating by Xin Yi, Anna did not board the ship but went to New York as she accepted the principal role of Odette in The Black Swan.  Then, the encounter between Xin Yi and Cun Xi happened.

Although each vows to forget about the indelicate incident, their lives has to cross path again as Xin Yi became pregnant.

Added to the mix is Dylan (Baron Chen), a kind young man who befriended Xin Yi and understood her plight, and Grandma Ji.  Didn't care for the other supporting characters.

And again, I am rooting for the second lead.  Hehe!  Baron Chen is charismatic.

Bromance

Another gender-bender, but this Taiwanese romantic comedy television series is much better from the last series I completed.  Bromance is about Pi Ya Nou (Megan Lai), a girl who has to live as a boy for the first 25 years of her life in order to change her bad fate and bring prosperity to her family, as foretold by a fortune teller.

Having lived as a boy, Ya Nou was shy and keeps her distance from  people to hide her identity.  This makes her irresistible to girls.  Then, she accidentally helped Du Zi Feng (Baron Chen), who happened to be a triad leader, and his sister Du Zi Han (Mandy Tao).  Zi Feng and Ya Nou became "sworn brothers" and bestfriends.  With Ya Nou's 26th birthday approaching, revealing her true gender may have repercussions.

The two leads, Baron Chen  and Megan Lai, has such chemistry than when they are near each other, it smolders.  c",)  Love all the characters of the show!  I think this is one series that I am not rooting for the second lead.  Hehehe!

You Are Beautiful

You Are Beautiful is a South Korean television series about a band whose relationship changes when a girl, Ko Mi-nyeo (Park Shin-hye), poses as her twin brother Ko Mi-nam, while the latter is having a corrective surgery in America.  Mi-Nam and Mi-nyeo grew up in an orphanage.  Mi-nyeo, who lived in the convent and about to take her vows, agreed to the deception to help her brother where the path to fame by joining A.N.Jell would be a chance for the siblings to find their mother.

A.N.Jell consists of the arrogant Hwang Tae-kyung (Jang Keun-suk), the gentle Kang Shin-woo (Jung Yong-hwa) and the bubbly Jeremy (Lee Hong-gi).  Mi-nyeo as Mi-nam is girl-y I wonder why the member of the band (except for Shin-woo) and the music company they are working for would not even think that something is "odd" about Mi-nam.  Perhaps, his/her clumsiness is the excuse..?  Of course, I like Shin-woo to "get" the girl.  Hehehe!  Second lead syndrome.

In any case, love the series.  It is fun.  Songs are good.  Like.  #ThumbsUp 👍

Accidentally In Love

Accidentally In Love is a Chinese Mandarin-language romance musical TV series about a young woman, Chen Quing Quing, rejecting the demands of her wealthy family poses as an ordinary college student crosses path with a pop star "Your Highness" in school.

I find the acting of the lead exaggerated... unless this is intentional as a satire?  And what is this focus on (physical) beauty.. what they think is beautiful... straight hair versus curly locks, etc.

The Secret Life Of My Secretary

Completed The Secret Life of My Secretary , a romantic comedy about a director of a mobile media company, Do Min-ik (Kim Young-kwang), who lost his ability to recognize faces due to an incident.  With the help of his secretary, Jung Gal-hee (Jin Kin-joo), he is able to face head-on his challenges calling for his resignation, aim for the CEO post, etc. while uncovering the mystery which caused his prosopagnosia.

It is fun.  I recommend that you watch it if just to see the range of actor Kim Young-kwang--from being strong to showing his weakness, being childlike, whimsical, etc.

Cinderella And The Four Knights

Finished again another South Korean television series--Cinderella and the Four Knights.

Promotional poster

Our "Cinderella" is Eun Ha-won (Park So-dam), a bright high school senior who dreams of becoming a teacher.  When her father remarries, she has to live with her cruel stepmother and stepsister.  She has to fend for herself, take part time jobs so she can go to college.  An old man convinces her to move to the "palace" with his three grandsons to make them decent people.  The four knights are rebel Kang Ji-woon (Jung Il-woo), playboy Kang Hyu-min (Ahn Jae-yun), super sweet singer Kang Seo-woo (Lee Jung-shin) and the cousins' handsome bodyguard Lee Yoon-sung (Choi Min).  The five actors have such chemistry that makes this series worth watching.  There is also Park Hye-ji, who temporarily moved to the "palace' and is Hyu-min's childhood friend and is in love with him.

Frankly, I do not like Hye-ji.  Weh!

I can watch this series over and over again just to see when Ji-woon fell for Ha-won, and vice-versa.  Even when did she become Seo-woo's muse.  Ha-won actually is the fake fiancee of Hyu-min, which caught the attention of their grandfather.  I wonder if Yoon-sung also fell for her charm?  Hehehe!  #Like.  #ThumbsUp

Cheese In The Trap

Just finished another South Korean television series (adapted from a webtoon).  And I can say, this is worth to binge watch and I can watch it repeatedly.

Promotional poster

Typical rich boy meets regular girl in a school setting?  Nope!  Although Cheese In The Trap focuses on the life and relationships of a group of university students particularly that of hardworking scholarship student Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) and her senior Yoo Jung (Park Hae-jin).  Then, you add Jung's childhood friends Baek In-ho (Seo Kang-joon) and Baek In-ha (Lee Sung-kyung) in the picture, making everything complicated.  There is mind games and manipulations that will keep you to complete the series.  #ThumbsUp 👍  #Like

Oh!  Took another Rapid Antigen Testing again today.  Negative for #COVID19 disease.  Thank You!

My Secret Romance

This time it is a romantic comedy (a respite specially after watching the two seasons of Partners for Justice, which I like).

Promotional poster

My Secret Romance is a South Korean television series of a rich handsome guy meets a poor regular girl.  They had a one night stand and from there, their lives changed forever.  Cha Jin-wook (Sung Hoon) is the second generation chaebol and director of the company owned by hid dad.  Lee Yoo-mi (Song Ji-eun) is a nutritionist who feels insecure about other people's opinions.  The protagonist actors have good chemistry.  To add to the kilig factor, there should be love triangle/s, with Jung Hyun-tae as a successful travel writer that has crush on Yoo-mi, and Joo Hye-ri, a young and beautiful announcer that has unrequited crush on Jin-wook.  Maybe because of her insecurities, Yoo-mi is still wary of Jin-wook when it is obviously clear that the latter likes the former.  But one thing is sure, Sung Hoon is good-looking! 😛
