A Photography Workshop

It is our office's camera club first monthly meeting for the year and it's first activity is a basic and advanced photography workshop.  I was requested to be the speaker.

I usually conducted the basic photography workshop.  So added a few more slides for advance topics on photography.

After the workshop, have my cupcake-fix at Glorietta, attended the anticipated Mass, and a friend treated us at Chili's for her birthday.  Burp!

The Lego Movie

Have been curious why The Lego Movie has gotten good reviews.

Thus, decided after attending my camera club's first monthly meeting for the year, would leave early to watch the movie.

The story is about Emmet, a perfectly average LEGO mini-figure mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person that would save the world.

Monuments Men

First, brought my car to Honda for its scheduled maintenance.

Then, paid for Cityland association dues.

Bought a discounted movie ticket for Monuments Men.  Since I still have time to spare before the screen time, have my entries printed, bought a blouse on sale at The Landmark for the officers meeting, and a pair of diamond earrings on sale at 40% + 10% off at F&C Jewelry.  They say diamonds are good things to have to ward off kulam (curse, hex or spells).  Weh!

Based on a true story about the men tasked by President Roosevelt to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their rightful owners.  Nothing to be excited about but it was able to illustrate Hitler's motivation on acquiring all these cultural treasures.

After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass, picked-up the photo entries I have printed and have dinner at Mexicali.

RoboCop

It would be the February birthday celebrants.  I would be treating them for lunch and movie.

Meet-up is at SM Mall of Asia and we would be celebrating their birthday at Burgoo.  In fact, that day, many are celebrating their birthday at Burgoo.  The staff were singing happy birthday to several groups in the restaurant.  LOL

And for the movie, it's the remake of RoboCop.

Haunter

My movie weekend and it will be Haunter, a horror, mystery, thriller film.

The ghost of a teenage girl is stuck on the same day of her and her family's death (which reminded me of Groundhog Day).  With the possessions of the other victims, she was able to connect.  And so is the teenage girl whose family is now being threatened.

After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and dinner at The Landmark's food court.

Going Through The Motions

Finally, picked-up my order of Sekonic C-500 at the Photoworld Asia 2014 sold at 20% off.

Thus, tested it once I got home.

Snowpiercer

Because of the bad experience I have with the movie I chose yesterday, will try to make up today.

First, bought my ticket for Snowpiercer.  Since movie time is 12:55PM, ticked-off my "to-buy" items in the Photoworld Asia 2014 event.

a)  Video light -- I already have one but I think there should be two.  It will be used by my niece in the wedding we would cover.

b)  eneloop battery -- with the additional light, need to have additional back-up batteries.

Although not in my "to-buy" list, found the Rode Videomic Pro.  Hehehe!

Then, ate a quick lunch before my movie.

A sci-fi, action, drama movie directed by Bong Joon-Ho.  When an experiment to stop global warming went awry, nearly all life on Earth got killed with the onslaught of ice age; except for people on board the Snowpiercer, a life-sustaining train that travels around the world powered by a perpetual motion engine.  Inside the train, a class system evolved.  This reminds me of Jose Rizal's El Filibusterismo describing the ship, which reflects the class system in the Philippines that time.  Snowpiercer is a must-watch movie.

...and it definitely made up for the movie I watched yesterday.

After the movie, scoured for a hot shoe stand for mounting the video camera lights.

Attended the anticipated Mass, had dinner at Soi, and bought light bulbs for the house at True Value.
