Turbo

My movie weekend is Turbo, an animation about a garden snail who dreams of winning in the Indy 500.  But first, had lunch of Mongolian Quick-Stop's Mongolian bowl at Food Choices.

Back to the movie.  A freak accident made Theo's dream possible.  Theo's relationship with his brother, Chet, is similar to that of Tito, a taco truck-driving dreamer, and his brother Angelo, the Dos Bros, where Theo and Chet ended up.  Like this better than Despicable Me 2.  Even the kids in the audience are into the movie--they were reacting as the scene unfolds.

After, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Modern Shanghai.  Also bought me an emergency lamp as replacement to my defective one in my room, and decided to buy a cordless phone for my room's phone at True Value, which is on sale.

Death Annniversary

It's my Tatay's first death anniversary.  Took a half-day off from the office.

But first, tried the J.Co doughnut.  Keep wondering why people are queueing to buy some.  Similar thing when Krispy Kreme opened in the Philippines.

Since our cordless phone is waiting to be replaced, bought one (my criteria is that the battery should be a regular rechargeable battery, that is, AA or AAA) at Ambassador Appliances, Inc. in Glorietta.  Then proceeded home.

Arranged the (instant) altar at the living room and left the house around 5PM to buy our food after the "padasal".  Bought our dinner for simple "salo-salo" at Emerald Garden Restaurant.

Tip:  Always have an open Holy Bible on the altar.

Strobist Workshop

Our office's camera club would be conducting a Strobist Workshop, and I would be one of those assisting (and lending my gear).  I came up with the activity, another member is the speaker and another member is responsible in looking for models.  We would be having 3 female and 1 male models.

Although the announcement released is for DSLR or point-and-shoot with hotshoe photographers only, one of the attendees brought his point-and-shoot without hotshoe. Thus, I have to lend him my point-and-shoot, a Canon G10, in order for him practice what he learned during the lecture.  This is a sample of his shot using my G10...

After, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Italianni's.

Pacific Rim

Hair-pampering day.

But first, had breakfast of Eggs Ben at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.  Then, proceeded to H&M Salon.

After, bought a ticket for Pacific Rim using my BPI Amore Card for a discounted movie ticket.  Had a late lunch of Go Greek!'s lamb chop platter at Food Choices.

The world is under attack from monster creatures (called kaiju) from the sea.  And in order to combat them, man has to build giant robots manned by two pilots (called jaegar) connected together thru neural link.  As time passes, kaiju appears more frequently and were stronger and bigger, causing a crippling defeat for jaegers.  Having world leaders to stop the jaeger program.  The movie is big and lots of action.

Despicable Me 2

Finally, watched Despicable Me 2.  Wasn't able to do so last week as a friend treated us at Buffet 101 for lunch.  Bought a ticket via mPass.  mPass is very helpful especially if there is a very loonnngggg queue in the cinema ticket office.

But first, had lunch at Food Choices' Mongolian Quick-Stop, have photos needed for next week's strobist workshop activity printed, withdraw and load-up mPass.

From http://despicableme.com

The movie is funny and cute.  Its message is the importance of family.

After, ate Dairy Queen's Chocolate Almond Blizzard and attended the anticipated Mass.  Had dinner at New Bombay.

Lots Of Post-Birthday Treats

A friend treated me for lunch at Lutong Macao as her post birthday treat.  Definitely post as her birthday was February.  LOL

Yesterday, another friend gave a birthday lunch for us at Apartment 1B.

Our office's mobile banking application was published in Google Playstore today.

Buffet 101

A friend and officemate invited us for lunch at Buffet 101 as her post-birthday treat.  Haven't tried and it would be nice to see them.

Have myself dropped-off at SM Mall of Asia.  Wrong move.  The restaurant is along seaside and have to walk under a noon-time sun.

That was a fun lunch.

After, proceeded to Glorietta to attend the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Luk Yuen.

(Learned that Tita J was those among offered retirement due to redundancy.  Duh?!)
