National Heroes' Day

A holiday... and I have two to-dos for the day.

1)  Submit my stool and urine at Makati Medical Center to complete my executive check-up tests.  The stool should be submitted within the hour, the urine within 15 minutes.  So brought the stool (since the hospital is near our house and, being a holiday, there would be no traffic).  For the urine, have to buy two bottles of cold water.  Oh!  That's already 1 liter of water for me.  Weh!

2)  Go to KARADA for my appointment.  This time, my treatment would be AP and Body Treatment for 90 minutes.  Since it is a weekday and I am an early bird (treatment is between 10AM to 2PM), got a 20% discount.

For lunch, had a spinach and feta cheese ravioli at Bistro Ravioli.  Requested for warm water, too!  (Requirement for my treatment.)

And the meryenda for the house?  Razon's small bilao of pancit luglug, Jollibee's 8-pieces chicken bucket.  Also redeemed my coupon obtained from BPI with a Jollibee 2-piece chicken with rice and peach mango pie.

Work On A Sunday

Since the vendor arrived last night from Singapore, we would be meeting him today to discuss the production issues being encountered in the system.  We would be meeting at the office in Greenhills.

Edgar (driver) is not available as he has to bring Nica to take the UPCAT (University of the Philippine's entrance exam) at 4AM.  Then, there is the issue of the Iglesia ni Cristo rallying along EDSA.  What to do?  Decided to take GrabTaxi's GrabCar.  It is my first time to do so.  Although Uber should be cheaper, I don't want to register my credit card.  Not bad.  Was at Greenhills 15 minutes earlier.

Left around 3:30PM.  Took the FX to SM Megamall.  Had meryenda at El Pollo Loco.  From there, took the MRT and stepped-off at Ayala Station.  Just walked a bit at Glorietta before proceeding home.

Prophylaxis

Should have submitted my stool and urine as part of my executive check-up today.  But since I still have my menstrual period, will have to do it next Monday, a holiday.

So, proceeded instead to Dental City for my dental appointment.  Great!  My company's HMO did not extend with Dental City.  Since I am already there, proceeded and paid for my prophylaxis (should have been free).  Friendly dentist.  My HMO now has Maxicare Dental Hub.  It partnered with Metro Dental.

After the procedure, should not be drinking or eating for at least thirty minutes for the medicine to take effect.  Decided to wait for one hour instead before my lunch at Food Choices.  Just window-shopped before the anticipated Mass.  We had again our dinner at Italianni's to claim the free Seafood Ciopinno with my coupon from BPI.

Did some groceries at The Landmark and claimed the free Jollibee meals with my coupon from BPI.

Executive Check-Up (Annual Physical Exam)

Scheduled my executive check-up (ECU) for today.  So, took a leave.  Timing, too, as the follow-up for my Japanese body therapy is this afternoon.

Unfortunately, I have my "period"; thus, to follow are my stool and urine tests.  My ECU will be done at Makati Medical Center.  It was a breeze.  But I have to wait for 1PM because the dentist will only arrive by then.

Good thing it is no longer raining when all my tests are completed--walked my way to Ayala Center.  Based on my activity tracker, my walk took 20 minutes at a speed of 8kph.  Weh!

Went to a dental clinic at Glorietta to set an appointment on Saturday for my prophylaxis.  Then, went to KARADA for my 3PM appointment (was already there at 2:30PM).

Warm water (within four hours) after the therapy.

The Gift

First dropped off my car to Honda Makati for its maintenance check-up.  Went back home then was dropped-off at Glorietta.

Bought a discounted movie ticket for The Gift.  Have lunch at Bistro Ravioli.  Since I still have time before the 2:30PM screening, just window-shopped.  Surely, I will meet my steps goal.

A married couple moves into a new house in the area where the husband grew.  Then a man from the husband's past enters their life that keeps giving gifts to them.  Awkward.  Weird?  There are lots of twists.  Like.  Ooohhh... the lies we tell.

After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Luk Yuen.  Bought groceries at The Landmark before proceeding home.

Hitman Inside Out

A holiday and my appointment at KARADA.  After dropping-off my niece in her office (she has work even if it is a holiday), was dropped off at Glorietta for my appointment.

Not bad.  Would have a follow-up treatment on Monday, right after my annual physical exam at Makati Medical Center.  Was also taught how to do my stretches.

Then, movie marathon!  Redeemed the coupon I got from BPI Amore for two movie tickets--Hitman: Agent 47 and Inside Out.  Just added PhP100.00 for the two movies.

Have lunch first at Food Choices before my movies.

A genetically modified Hitman, Agent 47, teams up with a woman against a corporation who aims to build an army like him.  Enjoyed the action.  The bottom line, it is not your past the makes you but what you make of yourself.

For my next movie, a girl struggles in moving to a new city with her family.  We "see" what is going in her mind.  It is the core memories which make up a person.  When something happens to the core memories, it is when we are shown how we should take the bad with the good.  It is the combination of joy, sadness, anger, disgust and fear that makes the spice of life.

vivofit 2 before going home.

"Bumped" Garmin vivosmart while surfing the internet.  So, during lunch, went to Garmin Concept Store at Glorietta 5 to buy one.  Weh!

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

I still have a coupon for a free movie ticket... and I just have to redeem it.  Weh!

So claimed the free ticket for The Man From U.N.C.L.E.  Then, had lunch at Bistro Ravioli.

From a TV series to a movie.  Top agents of U.S.A and Russia has to work together to prevent a global catastrophe.  They first met as "enemies" when the American agent is trying to free the daughter of a missing scientist while the Russian agent is trying to prevent him to do so.  Cool.  Stylish.  Reminds me of the movie Kingsman: The Secret Service.  (Although I like the Kingsman better).  Based on the ending, there might be a Part 2.

After the movie, bought a bilao of pancit luglug from Razon's and bucket of Jollibee chickenjoy for meryenda at home.

Members of a secret organization is being targetted by another secret organization.  Lots of action and humor.  And the formula works!

Flaxseed

Cannot relax until I am able to buy the flaxseed that I would be adding in the fruit/ vegetable juice I am taking every morning. At least, concern that my sugar will spike which may cause the start of diabetes type 2 will be alleviated.

Flaxseed is supposed to decrease the risk of heart attacks, lower cholesterol and improve circulation. It also brings back the fiber in my juice.

Good thing my niece will be picked-up around 9PM. I have time to go to Healthy Options at Glorietta to buy the flaxseed after office.

I was advised by the friendly staff that I should store it in an airtight, opaque container and refrigerated.

Looked for one at The Landmark and bought some groceries before proceeding home.

To Juice Or Not

Since I bought my Hurom juicer, been surfing the internet about fruit and vegetable juice. Then, stumbled upon an article "How fruit juice went from health food to junk food".

OMG! Does that mean I have to store away my new juicer? No. Came up with my checklist.

* More vegetables than fruit in my juice. Fruit is just for taste.

* 4oz of juice only (half glass).

* Put back the pulp for fiber, or add flaxseed.

* Eat something with the juice.

Picked-up the result of my fibroscan and went for check-up with my gastroenterologist.  The result is:

Body mass index calculated at 24.6 was interpreted as normal based on her height of 5 feet 4 inches and weight of 65kg.  ALT/SGPT result showed a value of 16 U/L taken on June 6, 2015.

Fibroscan was done with patient in supine position, facing the wall, right arm under patient's head, left arm relaxed at side.  Right upper abdomen was exposed while determining the position where the probe will be placed.

The procedure lasted for 4 minutes and 14 seconds.  10/12 valid acquisitions performed with an 83% success rate.  Result showed liver stiffness of 5.8 kilo Pascals, with Interquantile range (IQR) of 1.8 kilo Pascals.  Elastography was interpreted as minimal fibrosis.  Lifestyle modification with diet change and exercise is advised.  Treatment is directed to underlying risk factors.  Yearly surveillance with Fibroscan.

Previous result/s:
September 1, 2014 -- 8.4 kPa, (F2) Moderate fibrosis

Unilever PureIt

Walked my way to Ayala Center.

Was thinking of buying Unilever PureIt and water container because we would have no water for three days due to pipe re-alignment.  Bought them at The Landmark, where the former I was able to get a gift pack of Unilever products and the latter have a 10% discount.

Left the items at the package counter since I will be picked-up by the driver when I go home.  Then, window-shopped.

Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at Chili's as a birthday treat.  Bought some groceries before proceeding home.

Hurom Slow Juicer

It is something I always wanted to buy.  It is an improvement to the small juicer I bought.  Since my "angel" is so conscientious in making my apple carrot juice in the morning, decided to upgrade.  Will give my old juicer to my "angel".

After office, went to The Landmark where I bought a birthday gift for Nica.  Then, proceeded to the third floor where I would be buying a Hurom Juicer.  Decided to take the HH series, with 10% off.

Bought first ponkan at the supermarket to use as my "test subject" before proceeding home.

As soon as I arrived home, tested the unit to teach my "angel" how to use the juicer.  We all tried our first "experiment":  an apple orange juice.  Weh!

Paper Towns

Walked my way to Glorietta.  Since it is the opening week of Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, decided to buy already the ticket online for Paper Towns as there may be a long queue.

Since been surfing on what food to eat to avoid gastric erosion, learned that spinach and tomatoes are alkalizing agents.  So, it's spinach and feta cheese ravioli for lunch at Bistro Ravioli.  Then, dessert of tres leches at Cupcakes by Sonja.  An alternate to the strawberry shortcake I've been craving.

Back to my movie.  A teenage boy goes on a quest with his friends in a search of a girl who's gone missing.  Through small clues she left behind, he tries to track her.  She used to be his friend and love of his life since they were small.  But along the way, they have gone separate ways.  Then, one night, she reached out to him and it was one of the best nights in his life.  The ending may not be what one expected, but the movie shows the angst of teenagers, of doing stupid things on a whim.  (Note:  A paper town is a fake town created by map makers created to protect their copyright.)

After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Pho Bac.  Went again to True Home by True Value in case something catches my eye for the home.  Was thinking of buying a water purifier, so just checked-out items at The Landmark.

Because of the BPI SIP Thrill Promo, claimed my free food of 8-piece Chickenjoy bucket plus 4 Jolly spaghetti.  This is for purchasing the recumbent exercise bicycle by installment.  Gave the 2 spaghetti to Edgar (driver) to bring home to his kids.  Bought groceries including Nana's adult diaper before proceeding home.
