Sun Block

Decided to go to SM Mall of Asia (MOA) to buy my stock of sun block gel at Dermstrata. Liked gel-type because of my oily skin.

Afterwhich, proceeded to Glorietta to have my images printed, window shop, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Pizza Hut Bistro.

Did not watch a movie for I have already watched Transformers, where it is shown to almost all of the theaters at Glorietta.

Exhibit Transform(ation)

Today is the opening of our joint exhibit. After the photo shoots, several meetings, several e-mail and SMS exchanges, we have finally reached THE day.

But first, watched Transformers: Revenge of the the Fallen. A second of the Tranformers series, you get to see lot of action, explosions, and giant robot fights. This time, a long dormant evil force returns to Earth to find Sam, who accidentally absorbed the knowledge about the hidden location of a long-hidden artifact that possesses the power to save or destroy the planet.

After the movie, picked up my order which I promised to bring in our potluck for the exhibit's opening. Then, proceeded to the venue. Wanted to be there before the rain fell because of Typhoon Feria. Since I was responsible in printing the images' titles, posted them as soon as I arrived.

As expected, a few arrived, thanks to Feria. But we still consider the exhibit as a success, just because of the feedback on the images on exhibit by those who were there... c",)

Birthday and Movies

Today would be my treat to the June birthday celebrants: my Nana, Tita Leony, Jeofel and Winston. Since it is also a Father's Day, Manong can "act" as the father of the group. LOL

Went to SM Mall of Asia for the lunch treat. We wanted to try a restaurant we have not tried before. Thus, our steps led us to Hai Chinese Restaurant and Bar.

Afterwhich, decided to watch a movie. Should have been Night at the Museum 2 (because of Wingban), but because the movie would start around 3PM, we ended up with Terminator Salvation, instead. The continuation of the Terminator saga, the sci-fi/action/adventure, brings us to where machines have wiped-out humanity. The few survivors banded together to continue to wage war against the army of machines. Unknown to them, the key to their survival is a man/machine hybrid, who believes himself to be fully human.

Then, parted ways. I asked Manong to drop me off at Glorietta so that I can have the titles for the exhibit printed. Since I was already there, decided to watch Drag Me To Hell, which I keep putting off. A horror/thriller about a loan officer tasked to evict an old woman from her home was cursed by the old woman to make her a life a living hell. Unlike other horror films, the movie focuses on a single character being tormented, thus, allowing the audience to empathize with her, hoping for her to succeed and overcome the curse.

Meet and Sign

Today is the first of the monthly meetings of our company's camera club. This is also the time we would know if the members are serious or are just interested in attending seminars.

As expected, the number of attendees dwindled. Thus, our suspicion has been validated--they are just interested in attending seminars. If they just sit and listen, how would they learn and improve their craft?

After lunch, proceeded to Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI) to sign the images that will be displayed in our exhibit. Did a bit of chika then proceeded to Glorietta, to attend the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Italianni's.

Repaired, Reunion, Rally

Was in our Makati office when I received an SMS that my PLDT WeROAM's replacement SIM will be delivered at our Ortigas office. Oowwwww.... Will have to wait until tomorrow to test that new SIM. For the meantime, have to make do with the prepaid SIM I am using just to get access to the internet.

Today is also the treat of my friends for their birthday. Met them at Super Bowl for lunch. They are now working for a different company, thus, it also became a reunion of sorts. My gift to them? Something they can use against the A(H1N1). Hehehehe!

In the afternoon, received another SMS. The mobile phone shop where I left my dual SIM mobile phone to be repaired informed me that my unit is already available for pick-up. Again, have to do it tomorrow as I don't have the form which I need to show to them to pick-up the unit.

There is a rally today in Makati against the Constitutional Assembly. Walked my way from the office to Ayala Center. There is no traffic as there are no cars--the roads were closed to make way for the rally.

Choices

The meeting last Friday was cancelled due to heavy rains. Thus, it was moved tonight, same venue, that is, Starbucks at 6750. When I arrived there, the group is almost complete. The details of the exhibit was discussed, the images were shown to the group so that each would learn from each other, and the process wherein we would know which images would be included in the exhibit and when/how it would be printed and framed.

After the meeting, the group split-up. We had our dinner at The Pancake, sharing stories and jokes. We forgot the time that the waitress has to remind us that they would be closing soon.

As soon as I got home, e-mailed to the rest of the group what we have discussed... for documentation. Hehehehe!

Framed Shots: Bayan Ko

Today is the monthly meeting of our camera club. The contest theme is Bayan Ko, melody by Constancio de Guzman, lyrics by Jose Corazon de Jesus.

The Mark Floro would also be conducting a seminar on food photography. Learned a lot from him, and he is very engaging. There are two sets of three rules he stressed. First is (1) move the light, (2) move the subject/product, (3) move the camera. In his demo, he used only a single source light, making use of reflectors and gobos. The second set is (1) hire a food stylist, (2) hire a food stylist, (3) hire a food stylist. Hehehe!

I think I should learn composite.... Nahhhh!

From Within

My usual weekend activity is to watch a movie. But first, ticked-off the things have to do at the mall--paid my bills, have my pictures printed, bought an umbrella.

I was supposed to watch Drag Me To Hell. But because it was guaranteed seats and when I reached the ticket counter, the movie has started. Thus, decided to watch From Within instead. At least, it has the same genre as the first film I planned to watch.

But this similarity did not end there. The theme is also about a curse. While "Drag Me To Hell" is a curse made by a gypsy woman to a loan officer who did not grant the woman's request to extend her loan, "From Within" is a curse made to the whole town. The curse causes the town's citizens to commit suicide one by one. It doesn't scare. Good concept, but execution is lacking. It's last scenes (the twist), tries to make up for it.

After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at Super Bowl.

One Down, Two To Go

Picked up my Canon EOS 350D (with its new battery grip) from Canon's Service Center. Also had my lens cleaned at the same time. This is the first of my three gadgets, which gave up on me recently, to be repaired. Hope the PLDT WeROAM is next as I am having a hard time having access to the internet... :(

We were supposed to meet after office. But because of the continuous rain, it was called off. Guess, we have to wait until Monday to show of our close-up/macro images... Hehehe!

Third of the Threes

It again proved itself... "It always comes in threes."

I thought my gadgets that would break would stop at the camera and the dual SIM phone. Na-uh! My PLDT WeROAM's SIM has conked out!!!! That means, have to make do again with a prepaid SMART SIM in order to connect to the internet. Wahhhhh!!!!

Hope SMART still has its promo so I can win another mobile phone and cash...
