2017's Eve

Right decision to buy the round cake, the round pastries, the round fruits yesterday.  At least, don't have to wake up early.  Will just have to leave the house around 3:30PM to go to Emerald Garden Restaurant to pick-up the food I ordered for our media noche.

Thus, set-up the area where we would be watching a movie, even the countdown on a local station projected on a screen (white cloth which I bought earlier and have holes sewn).

My equipment:

  • Projector
  • Two yards white sheet as projector screen
  • Cut black garbage bag to put behind the white sheet
  • Laptop -- which eventually tested not needed
  • External hard drive with the videos
  • Digital TV box -- which has USB where I can attach the external hard drive
  • JBL Charge 3 speaker
Tested my set-up and is ready for the evening while waiting for 12 midnight.

By 3:30PM, Edgar the driver arrived for us to pick-up the food I ordered.  Bought extra food for him and Vangie (Kuya's secretary) as my new year gift.

Ate early so that we can already watch our movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.  After, wanted to watch the countdown but only GMA 7 will have a new year countdown.  The digital TV box was able to get only the signal for ABS-CBN.  Hayyy... Resorted to watching it on a standard TV.  Would have been great if we can do so on a big screen.

Happy 2017!

Rizal Day

Normally, I usually buy round cake with "Happy nnnn!", round pastries and round fruits on the 31st.  Decided to do it today.

So, passed by Goldilocks along Pasong Tamo where I bought mocha cake, cassava cake, crema de fruita, puto, macaroons, polvoron.

Then, went to The Landmark to buy groceries including loaves of bread, softdrinks.  We also had our lunch there before proceeding to SM to buy a basket of fruits.  Have Edgar bring home our purchases and sent a Viber message at home on what to do with them.

For dessert, went to Cold Stone Creamery.

I actually brought my Instax mini 90 with me so I can do an "instant" selfie with the Christmas decor at Greenbelt.  But first, passed by Greenbelt chapel.

After my selfie moment, went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel and to Glorietta to window shop.  Decided not to watch a movie.  Tried the Churreria La Lola which is a new store at Glorietta.  Not bad.

By 2:30PM, have Edgar pick me up to proceed home.  I must be sick?!  Hehehe!

Realty Tax

The usual, I pay the realty tax on the last day of the year.  Thus, took a leave.

Went to Makati City Hall to pay the tax.  Service was fast!

Then, was dropped off at Glorietta for a movie marathon.  Since it is still early, had brunch of eggs ben at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.  After, decided to walk to The Landmark. Learned that it was open starting 10AM instead of 11AM.  So, went to the supermarket to tick-off some items on my list. As soon as Glorietta opened, bought discounted movie ticket for Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 2 and Saving Sally.

A sequel to the 2011 indie film, "Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 2" is supposedly the "comeback" of Eugene Domingo as she works again with the director.  While discussing the movie, the script has drastically changed with the star's "suggestions" making it more of a mainstream film.  OK.  The hilarious scene is when Eugene Domingo is discussing about hugot scenes/ lines.

In between movies, have photos taken on Christmas day printed, ticked-off more items on my list, meryenda at Big City.

An indie film 12 years in the making, "Saving Sally" is a live-action animated film about teen love, monsters and gadgets.  Like.

Picked-up the pictures I have developed before proceeding home.  Although, passed by Pet Express to buy a big dog treat for the two big puppies so that they have something to do while firecrackers are blowing-up on the 31st.

Boxing Day

As a treat to my "angels", we often do a movie marathon of movies featured in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), and today is no exception.  With me is Lyn, Tin and Norlie.  Lily has to stay home with Nana who is bedridden.

Already purchased last night the tickets online to avoid the hassle of queueing to purchase one.  Was early since plan to do some "selfies" with the mall's Christmas decor, lunch and the movies.

Had the movie tickets printed first at Greenbelt 3 and went to lunch at Gerry's Grill, which opens at 11AM.  We had inihaw na baby pusit, pork sisig, sizzling bangus ala pobre, sizzling kangkong and rice.  With all the food, we brought a doggy bag home.

Our first movie is Die Beautiful.  Supposedly my niece should be joining us but the flight of her officemate she is supposed to pick-up got delayed.  She would be joining us in our second movie.

A transgender woman, Trisha Echevarria, dies while being crowned as Ms. Gay Philippines.  Her last request is to "die beautiful" by being transformed into a celebrity every night of her wake.  In between shows flashback about her life.  Like!

Usually, we have meryenda in between movies but we are still full.  Thus, proceeded to Greenbelt 1 where my niece, Pamela, is already waiting at Wendy's.

Our second movie is Seklusyon.  It is about four young priests who are about to take their vows but must first confine themselves into seclusion for a retreat.  What is unusual is that they were joined by a child and a nun.  The child was said to be performing "miracles".  Another priest was investigating if the child is a prophet or a false one.  Not scary and did not make an impact on me.  Follows some theorists that the anti-Christ will come from the Church itself.

We ate dinner at Chili's before proceeding home.  We had Triple Dipper, Classic Nachos, Crispy Chicken Salad, Alfredo Pasta, Chipotle Pesto Pasta and Molten Chocolate Cake.

Will claim the free digital TV from Acer head office at BGC.  Thus, Edgar the driver will pick me up at lunch to claim the item.

CHRISTmas Eve

Supposedly, I will buy groceries at The Landmark, pick up the food I ordered at Conti's and have it brought home, dropped off at the mall so I can watch Rouge One: A Star Wars Story.

This changed because my niece wanted to join me.  So, went to Makati Cinema Square to sell the iPhone 6 Plus 16GB she recently bought for her mom as Christmas gift (she bought a brand new 64GB iPhone 6).

Picked-up the Barbecued Spareribs and Chicken Relleno at Conti's.  Brought groceries at The Landmark.  As "payment" to my niece for being a bagger at the supermarket we ate lunch at Bulgogi Brothers.  Hehehe!

We parted ways, went to Glorietta to buy discounted movie ticket for Rogue One.  Since I still have time, decided to buy an ABS-CBN TV Plus which I can project.  On New Year's Eve, none of my angels actually sing, so decided to watch a movie on a "big screen" by using a projector while waiting for the change of year.  Bought it at True Value plus other cables I would need to use it with the projector.

The Star Wars story is a group of rebels who risked their lives to steal the blueprints of the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction.  #ThumbsUp  (Spoiler) No wonder there is no sequel.  Lots of quotable quotes like "You are confusing peace with terror."

Went home after.

We would be leaving the house to attend the Misa de Gallo at Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish Church at 7:30PM to reserve our seats.  The Mass was moved from 10PM to 9PM.  Before walking to church, an unexpected visitor came hoping to stay over.  She was with us last Christmas eve because she said she is all alone.  But when she came, she has her nephew with her.  In fact, her nephew will join their barangay's Christmas activities/ party.  Duh?!  Now, she is back without us inviting her over nor informing us she would be coming.  Anyway, my niece who came from Korea is back.  Thus, our unexpected guest has nowhere to sleep.

After the Mass, walked back home to share a simple Christmas meal.

Yesterday, my tablet's case broke.  Can't rest until it was replaced; thus, before proceeding home from work, passed by Glorietta to buy a new Otter Box case.  It's not available at the store I usually purchase my gadget cases, walked to Greenbelt 1 (their other branch) to buy the last item.  Hehehe!

Check Check

As soon the mall opened, went to Karada for my treatment.

Then looked for the (lunch) bag again.  Bought one at Gourdo's.

Had lunch at Bistro Ravioli (where I can ask for warm water.  Weh!)  Bought dog treat at True Value, hoping to buy a toy for Tsubasa.  Picked-up the Samsung Galaxy J1.  Went to Bow & Wow where I was able to buy a ball.

Since I have lots of bags, decided to take a taxi.  Took me about an hour in the queue before finally riding one for home.  Tsk!  Tsk!

Last For The Year

Passed by PCCI to leave my gift for Tilak.  Also gave pastries for the PCCI staff.

Then went to Word & Life to buy Benedictine medals.  Will have it blessed.

It would be the last anticipated Mass for the year at Glorietta.  Decided to give a small token to the "regulars".  So, ate lunch at Conti's.  Also bought small boxes of butterscotch for my gifts.

Then, went to National Bookstore to buy a cellophane to wrap my gift for Tita Leony.

Walked my way to Glorietta where I would be picking-up my order at Mary Grace.  Then gave my gifts to Mongolian Quickstop at Food Choices (where I usually order my lunch) and Karada at Glorietta 1.  When I gave my gift for Karada staff, also made my reservation for tomorrow.

Wanted to buy a small bag to keep my new portable projector (Acer C205).  It would have to be a lunch bag.  So looked for one.

Also looked for a Samsung Galaxy J1.  Edgar the driver would give it as a gift for his wife.  The price for Samsung products is standard for all shops.  Except for my suki.  Even for a few pesos, got a discount. LOL.  But since Edgar wanted the unit to be gold, and it is not available at the shop then, will have to pick it up tomorrow.

Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at Bulgogi Brothers.

My niece was with the driver to pick me up.  Bought groceries at The Landmark, dog leash at Pet Express before proceeding home.

Closing The List

Became aware that it will just be a few more days until Christmas.  Decided to go to the mall to buy gifts for my "angels".

Went to Mercury Drug while waiting for the mall to open at 11AM.  Also bought over-the-counter medicines as stock at home.  Went to Bayo to browse.  Then, to Kamiseta.  Bought my gifts from Kamiseta.

Had lunch at Sugarhouse, mailed my warranty card and proceeded to The Landmark for more gifts.

Now, what is left on my list is for the guard, janitors at the office.

Normally, would have stayed long at the mall.  But given the number of people, I already felt tired; thus, decided to go home after I completed my purchases.

Wrapped them and placed my gifts under our Christmas tree.  c",)

15 Days To Go

More gifts to buy.  And there are lots of people at the mall.  It is so tiring...

Was eyeing for the Asus S1 Mobile LED projector.  Went to Villman Computers.  It is not available.  When informed them it is on their website, they'll get back to me on Monday if the item is still available.

Went to beabi to pick-up my order.  Not yet available.  Next, went to Personalize It! to pick-up my order.  Good.

Then, went for a Mongolian lunch at Food Choices, dessert at Coldstone Creamery.  For more gifts, went to Marks & Spencer.  Left my purchases at The Landmark's package counter.

Went to Mary Grace to place an order for pick-up on a later date.

Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at Bistro Ravioli.

Since there are may people at The Landmark's supermarket, decided to do groceries at SM Hypermart since we would be going to Pet Express anyway to buy Tsubasa's dog food.

Preparation

Walked my way to Conti's at Greenbelt 2.  This is to have lunch and already order the food for our Christmas Eve Noche Buena.  Will pick it up on the 24th of December at 11AM.

Then walked to Glorietta.  On the way, bought a Geox sandal on sale.  I have lots of Christmas gifts for myself.  Weh!   Also, bought Christmas gift for Nico, one less on my list.  Have it gift-wrapped already at The Landmark.  Left my purchases at the department store's package counter--the better for me to buy more!  Hehehe!

Bought an external hard disk at Standard Computer Center.  This is for the movies and TV series downloaded which I can watch in my TV.

Since my Acer K10 became defective (I had my personal projector used for our office meetings since we seem to lack projectors.  Tsk!  Tsk!  The vendor I left the projector did not turn it off even during lunch break that by the time we are using it in the afternoon, saw white dots.  Have to have it sent to the service center the same day.), was thinking of buying another pocket projector.  Saw the Lenovo P0510.

Attended the anticipated Mass.

Plan to have our dinner at Wee Nam Kee at Ayala Triangle so that after we can watch the sound and light show.  The show is a dud!

Once more, had salubsob.  Since can't remove it properly, went to the Emergency Room of Adventist Medical Center (formerly Manila Sanitarium).
