Eve of Year 2026
My usual is to buy fruits and a dedication cake with a message for the new year. Since one of my tenants already gave me fruits, I would just add one or two fruits that are not "round". I just want fruits on my table for posting to social media. LOL. I do not believe in superstition.
Left the condo around 9:30 AM with my favorite Omega Speedmaster 38 mm on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
What is different is that I have to replace Camille's gift to Lyn to a smaller size, that is, from medium to small. Watching for the time, I would be dropped off at Uniqlo at Glorietta 5 for the replacement while Edgar, the driver, will already proceed to The Landmark and buy two (2) cakes with "Blessed 2026!!!" message at Red Ribbon. The second cake is for Edgar. Edgar would then just wait for me to buy the fruits.
 |
| Uniqlo |
Replacing the item is a breeze. Then, I went to Muji because I received an e-mail saying I can claim a Muji Membership Card by showing the email. I did just that but they no longer provide a physical card but a digital one. I also bought three (3) notebooks as my stock.

Walked my way to The Landmark. Instead of meeting with Edgar, passed by Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel since I am in the area. Then, I proceeded to the department store's Food Center where I saw Edgar waiting for me with two boxes of cake.

Went inside the supermarket and bought mangoes and banana. LOL
Left our purchases in the car and decided to buy snacks. So bought at 10 Yen King. Since it takes time to prepare, I left Edgar to wait for our order and proceeded to Lamy to buy a bottle of blue ink. I also cancelled the one I ordered at Lazada.
 |
| 10 Yen King |
Proceeded home. Will leave again at 3 PM for I ordered food at Emerald Garden Restaurant for our media noche. I said that I would pick up the food around 4 PM.
We arrived at Emerald Garden Restaurant around 3:30 PM. I thought I would be waiting for my order. Nope. It is already ready. Because of my "panic" that it is ready, I forgot to avail of the senior citizen discount when I paid for my order. LOL. Next time.
 |
| Emerald Garden Restaurant |
Instead of going home, I passed by Cash & Carry Mall where I bought cases at Japan Home Center, syringes that I would use when cleaning my fountain pens at Mercury Drug and ice cream at Dairy Queen.
Home.
My niece came over to wait for the change of year. We attended the online Mass of Greenbelt Chapel. Switched between Make It Makati, and GMA in their countdown to 2026. ABS-CBN does not have a countdown--would have watched their countdown if they have one.
The Make It Makati countdown is directed well, "classier"; but signal is intermittent as it is aired via Facebook. Perhaps if they aired it via YouTube, it would be better?
The GMA countdown has good signal as it is aired via YouTube. But it is the worst-directed countdown ever!!!! It seems there a lot of things going on. There's a portion in the venue where they are interviewing guests at the same time there is an ongoing performance on stage. Then there are those in remote connection. They are switching from one venue to another while in the middle of sentences. I suggest to fire whoever came out with this idea and direction. But then, what to expect with GMA? And with all their resources. Maybe that is why they said when there is competition, you continue to improve your craft.

Check-Out
Today's the check-out of Lyn from RedDoorz Hotel @ San Marcelino, Malate. Check-out time is 12 noon; but, there is nothing stopping us from checking-out earlier. Left the condo around 10 AM with my Tudor Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple Watch on my right.
 |
| RedDoorz Plus |
The check-out is smooth. Dropped Lyn at the condo and proceeded to Glorietta--I am already dressed going out and I have added items in my list.
Went to Lamy to buy the Lamy Joy Fountain Pen (with all three sizes of the nib) for calligraphy, and the Lamy Safari with medium nib.
Then, I proceeded to The Landmark Food Center where Edgar, the driver, and I would eat our lunch. Ordered at BonChon Chicken.
Home.

Pahabol Gift
There is a lawyer I go to for my inquiries. Normally, my brother has a list of people we would be giving Christmas ham as gifts. The lawyers would be included in the list. I don't have a copy of the list. I don't know how to contact the supplier of the Christmas ham. Maybe next year?
I was able to get the address. As soon as I was able to get the information, scheduled with Edgar, the driver, to buy the gift and deliver it.
First stop was at Healthy Options at Glorietta 2. bought the Passion Fruit Sparkling Grape Juice, and Organic Trail Mix and V-Good Trail Mix. Brought the items to the car.
Next stop is at U Name It because of my fountain pens. Was also able to buy a case for my passport as well as keychain.
Then, to to the National Bookstore where I have my passport and ITR xeroxed. Bought also Pilot ink (blue black).
Ticked-off all on my list, left the mall and proceeded to deliver the gift to the lawyer. Left it at their condominium's lobby guard.

Yakiniku Like
I need to have my photo taken for the Japan Visa. Thus, even though I am early at the mall, I will not attend the Mass at noon. Left the condo around 9:45 AM with my Omega Speedmaster 38 mm on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
I was dropped off by Edgar, the driver, at Glorietta. Proceeded immediately to General Photo to have my photo taken while I am "fresh". LOL. Will pick up the photos later.
I was thinking of using a Muji notebook as my journal. I have been reading (watching?) reviews about its quality. So proceeded there and bought some.
 |
| Muji |
Since it is still early, maybe I can already try the Yakiniku Like, a recently opened restaurant at Glorietta. Ever since it has opened, there is always a queue of customers whether during lunch time or dinner time. And I was not disappointed. I was able to get a seat.
I ordered their Prime Karubi & Misuji Set 100g (PhP609.00). There is a choice of small, medium or large rice. Ordered the small. There is also a choice of kimchi or salad for the sides. Chose kimchi. It is really good. No wonder there is always a queue of customers. If I have a chance, will eat here again.
 |
| Prime Karubi & Misuhi Set |
To while the time and wait for the anticipated Mass, I went to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to update my blog and start transferring my journal to the Muji notebook I bought. I chose Muji's Open-Flat Notebook, B6/ Grid, 80 pages/ Light grey. I would have finished it in one sitting; unfortunately, the ink in the cartridge of my Writech Clictek is empty. Will do it later at home. So updated my blog instead and will send out Viber messages to our tenants.
Decided to go to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark to finish my morning prayers and the Precious Blood of Jesus Chaplet devotion.
Then, proceeded to Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel where I was able to join the community to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet devotion and the Rosary.
The (anticipated) Mass presider is Fr. Benny.
Jesus growing in Nazareth where He grew in wisdom and strength. This is the hidden life of Jesus.
In this celebration, we are being encouraged to be a holy family.
It is not what the person has but how you lived to make you holy. Invite God to your life and let Him reign in your life. A holy family is a forgiving family.
In the first reading (Sirach 3:2-6,12-14): My son, take care of your father when he is old; grieve him not as long as he lives. Even if his mind fail, be considerate of him; revile him not all the days of his life; kindness to a father will not be forgotten, firmly planted against the set of your sins--a house raised in justice to you.
After the Mass, time to buy food-to-go. Went to Kaya. Based on my timeline, the last time I have been here is in 2020. There is food that I like here but I don't think I can eat solo. Next best way to taste it again is to order to-go. Ordered Beef Bulgogi, Bibimbap, and Boode Chige.
And, of course, bought Dairy Queen's Blizzard to-go.
N.B. While at The Landmark, I saw a shampoo and conditioner on sale. The saleslady is very good at answering my questions. Thus, bought the
Diane Perfect Beauty shampoo and conditioner. As soon as I got home, tried it. And luv it!!!

Friday Mass
I would be attending the Friday Mass at Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel. Left the condo around 10:30 AM with my Tudor Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple watch in my right.
I was able to finish my morning prayers, my Precious Blood Chaplet devotion, and joined the community to pray the Rosary before the Mass.
The Mass presider is Fr. Marthy. I do think he is an exorcist.
The Christmas octave includes witnesses to the fidelity of the Lord which happened on Christmas day.
St. Stephen stoned to death while his enemies deride him looked up intently into Heaven--focusing on the person, on the Godhead of Jesus.
St. Stephen teaches us not to focus on the pain, the negativities, the things of this world; but, focus on on the goal--to be with God.
Eternal damnation versus eternal salvation.
Every learning you obtain during the Octave of Christmas, make it a foundation for your New Year resolution.
Prayer: "Lord, unworthy as I am, grant me the grace to spend eternity with You."
This is also where I learned from Fr. Marthy that today ends the Jubilee Year. There is a Eucharistic Celebration with Rite of Closing of the Jubilee Year to be presided by Cardinal Advincula at the Manila Cathedral. It will also be aired online.
This would be the last time (next Jubilee year would be 25 years from now) I hope to gain a plenary indulgence by visiting a Jubilee church. So, I went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark, one of the Jubilee churches, hoping to gain a plenary indulgence and I offer it to the souls in purgatory who stifled the Holy Spirit in the church, those who could have but instead had little love for Our Lady, and those who sinned against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Before leaving The Landmark, bought a timer and stop watch with seconds so I can use for the activity to perform two (2) minutes before sleeping:
- No food for two (2) hours before bed
- Squats for 60 seconds
- Marching knee lifts for 30 seconds
- Calf raises for 30 seconds
- Deep breathing for 6 counts (4 seconds inhale, 2 seconds hold, 6 seconds exhale)
- Shower
And, of course, my go-to place every Friday, Bacolod Chicken Inasal. I ordered Bangus Lumpia ni Mama (PhP187.00), plain rice (PhP45.50), Adobong Kangkong with no meat (PhP137.00), and Toto's Suman Surprise (PhP173.00) for dessert.
Again, I went to U Name It, one for the shops in the pop-up store at Glorietta 2 Activity Center.
Also, I went to the National Bookstore to buy more Googly Eyes Steno Stan notebooks. In the end, I decided against it.
Home.

CHRISTmas 2025
Today is a day of obligation. If you have attended the Christmas Mass last night, you have already observed the liturgical practice. I only attended the online Mass last night because I am planning to attend the 10:30 AM Mass today. Left the condominium around 9 AM with my RADO Captain Cook Automatic on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
I was dropped off at Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel around 9:15 AM. Late for the 9 AM Mass and very early for the 10:30 AM Mass. So I positioned myself in the park which is near the vicinity of the chapel where I prayed my morning prayers.
When I heard the Mass was about to end, I started walking to the chapel so I could go to my favorite seat. 😀
I was able to join the community to pray the Rosary.
The Mass presider is Fr. Joel.
Last night's Gospel is the birth of Jesus, the nativity.
Today's Gospel is also about the birth of Jesus in a theological way. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.
There are instances that the most beautiful and important gift you have received you have never opened.
Jesus is the most important gift this Christmas. How do we respond to this gift?
- Be a GIVER. Be a gift yourself. Think of the widow who gave two (2) pennies at the temple. What kind of gifts should we give?
a) Gift must be personal. There is only one vowel in the word "gift"--that letter "i". Do not allow the presents to replace the presence.
b) Gift should be total, not some. All give some, only some give all. When is a gift heartfelt? When it hurts when you give.
c) Gift must be regular, not seasonal. Our generosity must be regular, consistent. - Be a GLIMMER. Glibber is a tiny spark of light. Even a tiny spark of light is a hope for someone in the dark.
- Be a GLOW. Emanate in your person the goodness of God. Emanate in your person the goodness of Christ. You need to be saturated under the Son. Thru regular prayer, spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament, in silence with Jesus.
After the Mass, I was supposed to go to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark. The Landmark would open at 12 noon. Hmmm... While Glorietta opened much earlier. So change of plans in my list.
Went to Glorietta 5 to go to Uniqlo to have the gift of my niece to Joven replaced from a Large size to a Medium Size.
Next, I took my lunch at
Benny's Place at
Rustan's. It is my first time here. I ordered their Tapa ni Benny, and Ripe Mango Juice. It is good. 😃
 |
| Benny's Place |
 |
| Tapa ni Benny |
From Greenbelt Chapel until I had my lunch, I have been giving out chocolates (Snickers) to guards, salespeople, etc. as my Christmas gift to them. Before my chocolates ran out, I went to the shops I really plan to give chocolates to.
First stop is at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf where I usually hang-out to update my blog.
Next, went to Timex to ask for the user guide of the Marathon digital watch I gifted Joven (as I said, my gift theme this Christmas is watches) because he may have inadvertently threw it when he opened the gift. I was only to take photos of the manual but they gave me one instead. I gave them chocolates, too, as they are very accommodating when I purchased from them.
Next is at Dairy Queen where I have been buying ice cream recently.
And of course not to be forgotten, the friendly staff at the customer lounge/ restroom.
Now, I have only one left. I was thinking of the lady manning the elevator at The Landmark. I usually take the elevator when I go up to the chapel. And I was able to give her my gift.
The Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel is one of the Jubilee churches. I hope to gain a plenary indulgence and I offer it to the souls in purgatory that had little desire for Heaven.
With all my business at the mall completed, proceeded home.

Christmas Eve 2025
I left the condominium around 9:30 AM with my Turbo Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right to pick-up the food I ordered at Conti's. Pick-up time is 10 AM.
(Note: When I arrived home, I do think I am missing one of my orders.)
Instead of proceeding home, passed by Glorietta to tick-off some of the items still on my list.
First, went to The Landmark Supermarket to buy additional chocolates which I plan to give away after attending tomorrow's Mass.
Next on my list is a pencil case so that I can bring my fountain pens with me all the time.
Saw one at Japan Home Centre. Bought it just in case I won't find something I really, really like. Went to National Bookstore. They carry pencil cases but nothing that strikes me. Also checked if they have a red Pilot Decimo fountain pen. Nope. Crossed to Daiso. Found a Hello Kitty pencil case. Since there are stalls at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center, I decided to check the stalls. Found one which embosses your name. The store is U Name It.
Now, which do you think I like best?
Oh, passed by Dairy Queen, too, for an ice cream-to-go.
Upon arriving home, Edgar, the driver, informed me that Christmas packages were being distributed by the local government. Provided an authorization so that Edgar can receive the items for me.
My two nieces came after going to their mom--attending Mass and having dinner together. We also had our noche buena.
Merry CHRISTmas!!!

Visit
A former officemate was confined to a hospital after going to its Emergency Room thinking she would just be given medicines to address her ailments. I would think it is the best time to visit (instead of weekend) for there would be fewer visitors.
Left the condominium with my (black) Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical watch on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right, with Theo, the dog, for his grooming.
I was dropped off at SM Makati Supermarket to buy fruits while Edgar brings Theo to Pet Express. I was picked up by Edgar as we proceed to St. Luke's at Bonifacio Global City.
 |
| St. Luke's |
She's getting better compared to the day when she was admitted. Praying that she be healed of her diverticulitis. 🙏
Back to Ayala Land, learned that Theo is already done with his grooming. I was dropped off at Glorietta while Edgar picks up Theo.
For lunch, ate at Racks.
As promised, went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark. Bought small steno notebooks at Office Warehouse also in The Landmark. Then at National Bookstore, bought the Pilot Decimo. Wanted to have a dedicated cups when cleaning my fountain pens, so went to SM Makati to buy one. And, of course, Dairy Queen Blizzard to-go.

Avanza's Preventive Maintenance
I have already set an appointment at Toyota Manila Bay for the preventive maintenance of my Toyota Avanza. Left the condominium around 9:00 AM with my favorite Omega Speedmaster 38mm on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
It took us some time at the car dealership. I was advised by my service advisor to inform him one week before the scheduled service so he can already provide estimates. Once I acknowledge the estimate, I can pay it online; thus, I need not go to Toyota. Edgar only needs to bring the car. Noted.
Next stop is at The Landmark Supermarket because it is our grocery day, too. As soon as I paid for our purchases, I left Edgar, the driver, to bring home the groceries.
For lunch, I went to Fiery Style at Glorietta 4. I am still unable to try the new Japanese restaurant as there are still people queuing to get in.
Now, I have a lot of free time blogging at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Went to the National Bookstore to buy the pen stylus. This way, I can use the stylus part of the pen to sign on equipment that captures signature. I don't understand why they allow signing using a finger where the result is far from you real signature.
I walked my way to Greenbelt Chapel. I was able to join the community to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and the Rosary.
The Mass presider is Fr. Benny.
The Gospels during Advent are events surrounding the birth of the Lord.
Why did Joseph upon finding Mary is pregnant, why did he decide to divorce her quietly?
There are three (3) theories:
- Suspicion theory--Mary is unfaithful. St. Augustine
- Perplex theory--Joseph finds it hard to understand Mary to be pregnant without any relationship with him. St. Jerome
- Reverence theory--Joseph does not consider himself worthy to be the father of God. St. Thomas Aquinas
More than these theories, what is important is the virtue of Joseph.
- Faith--Joseph accepted Mary upon the angel's revelation in a dream.
- Mercy--Joseph is righteous but not absolute. Out of mercy to Mary.
- To fulfill the mission--Joseph and Mary leading Jesus to be a good Jew.
Our faith should be with mercy in fulfillment to our mission.
After the Mass, proceeded to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark. It is one of the Jubilee churches. I hope to gain a plenary indulgence and I offer it to the souls in purgatory who rejected the resurrection.
Then, I bought a box of cream puffs (if you buy five you get one free) at Beard Papa's and Theo's dog food at Pet Express before going home.

Check-Out, Check-In
Today will be the day Lyn will be released from the hospital after her RAI Therapy. Since she still have radiation, I have already booked her at a hotel for ten (10) days. Per her doctor, it would be safe for her to be quarantined for fourteen (14) days. Radiation has half-life, that is, every day, it decreases by 50%.
First, I would be attending the 7:15 AM Mass at Greenbelt Chapel. Normally, it would be the 12:15 PM Mass. Since check-in time at the hotel is 2 PM, I will have to be there early. Another consideration is the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 Parade. For the first time, it would be entering Makati City, streets affected would be near Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, Jupiter Street. This means, we should be leaving the Makati area before then so as not to miss the hotel's check-in time.
Left the condo with my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical with black dial on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
The Mass presider is Fr. Rany.
The Gospel is about the Annunciation of the birth of John the Baptist. In this Gospel, it shows the importance of silence as experienced by Zechariah, John the Baptist's father.
The value of silence:
- Silence helps us hear God more clearly.
- Silence can transform doubt into faith. Zechariah's silence forced him to observe the works of God in his life.
- Silence prepares us to seek God's truth. As soon as Zechariah can talk again, his first words are praises to God. His silence led him to the profound presence of God.
Went back to the condo after Mass. Will leave again around 9:30 AM.
The plan for the rest of the day is as follows:
- Go to Robinsons Place Manila where we would spend time including eating lunch before proceeding to the hotel.
- At 1 PM, we leave the mall, and go to the hotel to check-in and bring in Lyn's things.
- Edgar would be proceeding to the hospital waiting for Lyn's clearance and release while I wait for them at the hotel.
- As soon as Lyn arrives, I would set the mobile phone to connect to the hotel's WiFi, give instructions on how to operate the air-conditioner, etc.
Did a short window-shopping at Robinsons Place Manila given that it is my first time here in this mall. Ate our lunch at Bacolod Chicken Inasal. In their National Bookstore, I was able to buy a black Lamy Safari Rollerball, a good partner for my recently purchased black Lamy Safari Fountain Pen.
Was early in the check-in time at the hotel. Since Edgar would not be able to park in front of the hotel lest he will be towed, paid for PhP200.00 to check-in one hour early. Brought all the things needed by Lyn in the hotel. I stayed behind updating my blog while Edgar proceeded to the hospital, waiting for Lyn's release.
Updating my blog while in the hotel. Since Lyn's room has a window view of the street in front of the hotel, I can check if they have already arrived so I can pack my things. Set-up Lyn's phone to access the hotel's WiFi and gave instructions on how to operate the air-conditioner.
It is almost 3 PM, still the parade has not passed by Buendia in Makati. Went first to Cash & Carry to buy a Dairy Queen Blizzard before proceeding home.
Once back, I worked quickly so that Joven can step out of the condo and watch the MMFF parade. Our dog, Theo, cannot be left alone for too long. But as soon as I stepped out of the shower, Joven was still around. It is raining hard! That really dampens the parade. LOL

Purple Rice
Originally, our lunch date was cancelled because of the unavailability of one. But we girls decided to push thru with it. Thus, after Edgar, the driver, brought my niece to their Christmas lunch venue, he went back for me.
Left the condo with my Tudor Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
I waited for them in front of my former office building. Then, we walked our way to Purple Rice along Tordesillas.
We ordered Tom Yum Soup, Authentic Thai Prawn Cake, Authentic Pad Thai, Sate Gai, and a dessert (forgot the name). They were all good.
Good thing, Purple Rice will be opening at Glorietta soon.
Before proceeding home, I went first to The Landmark to buy a Christmas gift for my service advisor at Toyota. We will be bringing my Toyota Avanze there on Saturday for its preventive maintenance.

All About Real Property
Already booked my niece's friend to share his experience regarding real property. And today's the day for the meet-up. It would be at UCC Mentore. Left the condo with my Rado Captain Cook Automatic on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right. Picked-up my niece at her condo before proceeding to our venue.
Some of my nieces and nephews also joined us via a Zoom meeting. Recorded everything so there is something we can revert to if needed.
There are three types appraisal:
Four types of properties:
- Residential
- Business
- Industrial
- Hotel
There were other things he shared. Thank you!
After parting ways, I did the following errands:
- Buy Lyn's medicines
- Buy Christmas gift for Nica (I already bought one for her brother months before)
- Buy me a Lamy fountain pen (thanks to the Writech's Clictek fountain pen, I got interested in fountain pens; already have a Parker fountain pen)
- Bought Writech Clicktek fountain pen as Christmas gifts for the two friends I would be meeting tomorrow. Also bought one for my niece's friend because he noticed it during our meeting.
- Bought Cipriano silvanas as Christmas gifts.
Then, home.

PALers
I have a previous schedule for today with a friend who flew in from Australia. Unfortunately, she re-scheduled for tomorrow and I have already a previous engagement; thus, I won't be able to see her.
Since today is free, I set another meet-up with friends from my previous work. Lunch would be at Secret Recipe. Left with my Rado Centrix Diamonds on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right. As expected, I would be the first in the venue. Took a table and waited for them.

| Secret Recipe |
The last time we saw each other was last year. The same reason--Christmas lunch. We ordered their Caesar Salad (PhP575.00), Singapore Laksa (PhP575.00), and Mushroom Chicken (PhP575.00). A lot of stories were exchanged. That was fun. When we parted ways, I accompanied Tita Josie for her to be able to take a taxi ride home.
Since I am already at the mall, I ticked off my Christmas list. Thanks to Bench because I was able to buy my gifts from there. I went to National Bookstore for a fountain pen. And of course, I bought Dairy Queen Blizzard to-go before proceeding home.

Radiation
Today's is Lyn's scheduled RAI Therapy. Left the condominium around 9:30 AM with my Rado Centrix Automatic Diamonds on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
Was at ManilaMed around 10:30 AM. Lyn and I went first to her doctor's clinic to get instructions as Lyn will be admitted to the hospital. Her doctor explained everything like what to expect, what Lyn should be doing (including taking a picture of the medicine before taking it), the medicines she would be taking after the iodine radiation, laboratory test needed before consulting with her oncologist. Per her doctor, there are three stages related to cancer. The first phase is the removal of the tissue. The second phase is radiation. The third phase is chemotherapy, which in this case, are the medicines Lyn would be taking on empty stomach before breakfast. We were also advised to be admitted around 1 PM.
So, I went to the Admitting office waiting for 1 PM. Lyn was admitted around 12:45 PM. Edgar and I were also able to accompany Lyn in her room, with Edgar and a male nurse assisting in carrying Lyn's things.
Leaving Lyn, we went to The Aristocrat for our very late lunch. Ordered Pork Spareribs Barbecue, Daing na Bangus, Hototai Soup, and Banana Split.
Then, home.

Special Shareholders Meeting
Today's "it".
Days of preparing the Google Forms, tally sheets, attendance sheet automatically computing if quorum has been reached, and presentation material would be run in their paces. On the way to the meeting venue, prayed for the assistance of the Holy Spirit.
Left the condominium with my favorite Omega Speedmaster 38 mm on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
Well, it was a productive meeting in spite of the technical glitches. Thank You! 🙏
After, I was dropped off at Glorietta.
The first stop is to pick-up the items I have customized for my Christmas gift at Made For U. I plan to give one of them to a friend who I usually see during Mass. And I was able to give it to her.
Then, I went to Auntie Anne's for merienda. Ordered their Savory Combo (cheese pretzel dog plus lemonade).
Walked my way to Greenbelt Chapel for the anticipated Mass.
I was able to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary with the community.
The Mass presider is Fr. Benny.
The third candle represents "joy".
The aim of being in this faith and celebrating the coming of the Lord is because we want to be saved.
Joy is sometimes being interchanges with Happiness.
Examples of joy are: Mama Mary learned she will be the mother of God; the three Magi saw the Lord; Simeon and Anna saw the Lord; Mama Mary visited Elizabeth and John leaped in her womb.
Joy is having a deep relationship with God. It does not come from outside. It is from internal.
Happiness is external attained by wealth, fame, power--all fleeting.
Satan would rob us of joy by (a) regretting the past, (b) fear the future, and (c) ungrateful of the present.
But for the Lord,, we (a) learn from the past, (b) hope for the future, and (c) grateful on the present.
Aspire not for happiness. Aspire for joy.
After the Mass, went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark, one of the Jubilee churches, hoping to gain a plenary indulgence and offer it to for the clergy in purgatory who refused to lay down their life for their sheep.
And for our food-to-go, i went to Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar. I wanted to buy a Dairy Queen ice cream but the queue is long. So, I opted to try the silvanas of Cipriano, the stall right beside DQ.
Then, home.

HR-V Detailing
Already made an appointment with Ziebart for the rustproofing, ceramic gloss rebuff and interior detailing of my HR-V. The original schedule is to go there and pay for the services so that Edgar, the driver, can pick-up the car anytime it is released; then, attend the 12:15 PM Friday Mass.
But because of the unscheduled meeting with Family Corporation's lawyer at my cousin's house, changed my schedule to:
- 7:00 AM Friday Mass at Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel
- At 8:30 AM, go to Ziebart to pay for their services
- At 9:00 AM, go to my cousin's house at Sucat, Parañaque for the 10 AM meeting
- Lunch at Bacolod Chicken Inasal
- Visit Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel, one of the Jubilee Churches for the souls in purgatory who willfully ran away from crosses God sent them.
Left the condominium with my
Tudor Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
The Mass presider is Fr. Rany.
It is the Feast of the Our Lady of Guadalupe. The apparition of Mama Mary occurred in 1531 to Juan Diego.
In Advent, God comes into our life, in surprising moments of our daily life. "Am I not here, I who am your mother?"
These are the three (3) lessons of this apparition:
- God meets us in our normal day. "Speak, Lord, I am listening."
- God chooses the humble, not the proud. God's Kingdom will take place among the humble.
- God asks for faith and persistence. Mama Mary said to Juan Diego, "Do not let your heart be troubled. Am I not here? I am your mother."
After the Mass, went home and rested a bit before leaving again for Ziebart then to my cousin's house. The meeting finished way past noon. This means, I will be having a very late lunch.
So, I went to
Glorietta to have lunch at Bacolod Chicken Inasal, to
National Bookstore to buy a refill for my Parker ballpen and this is also where I saw a fountain pen that uses ink cartridges. Bought the
Writech Clictek and see if my signature would come out nicely. 😜
And of course, passed by Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark since I am in the area.
Then, proceeded home.

Pag-IBIG 2
Last week, I received advice from Pag-IBIG to provide a joint affidavit of two disinterested persons stating that the person with the name Maria or Ma. is the same as the person without it.
Studying in a Catholic school, the record used is my baptismal certificate. Thus, my school records indicate Maria or Ma. in my name. Since I would be providing potential employers my school records, I used the same in my employment records. My birth certificate does not carry Maria or Ma. in my name.
I sent the draft affidavit to Pag-IBIG last week for their review. Since I have not received any reply, I decided to have it notarized already and submit it.
After submitting the joint affidavit at Pag-IBIG's, I will be playing Santa Claus.
But first, I passed by McDonald's drive thru to buy Manong a food. Aside from my Christmas gift, I will also give him food. I am sure he will share it with his grandchildren.
After Manong, I will drop off my gift to Norlie. We already saw her at the sari-sari store waiting for us.
And for our late lunch, we went to Waltermart to eat at Mongolian Quick-Box.
We proceeded to Glorietta for quick window-shopping. My feet brought me at The Landmark. I am sure that my Swiss watches can handle the winter weather in Japan, a trip we plan to take next year. But I do not want to gamble. Thus, thinking of buying a Casio G-Shock. I am sure G-Shock-ers (LOL) would suggest that my first buy is a Casiotron or the Square. But I wanted an analog watch on my left wrist and my Apple watch (obviously a digital one) on my right. So, opted for their ladies version of Casioak, the GM-S2100BC. All items are at 10% off.
Bought a Dairy Queen Blizzard to-go before proceeding home.

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today is a day of obligation. I plan to attend the 10:30 AM Mass at Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel. Left with the Swatch Greenshift Glow on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right. Funny thing is, the blouse I decided to wear for Mass is the same color as the watch's strap. LOL
With me is Theo, the dog, who will be going to Pet Express for his grooming. I was dropped off at Greenbelt Chapel. The 9 AM Mass was about to end when I arrived. Thus, I am able to sit in my usual seat for the 10:30 AM Mass. Today, I also brought blessed green scapulars which I will give as a token since it is Mama Mary's feast day. 😇 I usually give away sacramental (once a religious item is blessed, it is already a sacramental) to our service workers (guards, saleslady, salesmen, janitorial services, etc.) during Mama Mary's feast day.
The Mass presider is Fr. Godwin.
In Japan, they have Seizenso, a mock living funeral. It is for them to evaluate their life. If we do that, what would other people say about us?
If we look at the Blessed Virgin Mary, how do we see her? How does God see her? Mary is full of grace. At the moment of her conception, God has steered her from sin, including original sin. The Lord has prepared the "container".
At the heart of our faith is grace. Where sin abounds, grace abounds even more.
Three (3) things to meditate about grace:
- Grace comes only from God. Mary is magnifying the Lord.
- We can only receive grace if we are humble. Mary said to the angel, "I am the handmaid of the Lord." Advent is an invitation for us to be humble, to be open to the Lord.
- Grace benefits not only the one who receives it but also others. All of us are recipients of God's grace. But let it not stop with us but dispense this grace to others. Gifted to gift.
After the Mass, proceeded to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark. It is one of the Jubilee churches and I hope to gain a plenary indulgence. I offer the plenary indulgence for the souls in purgatory who willfully ran from crosses God sent them.
Again, I attempted to try the Japanese restaurant that recently opened at Glorietta. There is still a queue that I decided to eat at another restaurant--Nanyang. I ordered their Hainanese Fried Chicken Rice (PhP288.00). For dessert, I tried their Mango Sago Pomelo (PhP130.00).

I bought via Lazada a Casio watch as my Christmas gift for Joven, Lyn's nephew who is here to help while Lyn is healing (the theme of my Christmas gifts this year is watches). But I think it is a bit small for men; thus, thought of giving it to Norlie instead. Will buy a Timex digital watch for Joven. I was able to buy a Timex marathon digital watch at 20% off.
Went back to The Landmark to buy my Christmas gifts for Manong and for Norlie. I will be their Santa for tomorrow after submitting the needed Joint Affidavit by PAG-IBIG. Bench polo for Manong and blouse in the Bazaar for Norlie. Also bought Christmas gift bags for these items.
Bought a Red Ribbon dedication cake at The Landmark Food Center for Joven who happens to have his birthday today. Since Edgar is already at the parking lot, I asked him to proceed to Red Ribbon to help carry my purchases.
Before going home, passed by Amber's Restaurant to buy pancit, pichi-pichi, lumpiang shanghai, and chicken lollipop for us and for Edgar as Joven's handa for his birthday. 😊

First Saturday Of December
It is the first Saturday of December and I will do my First Saturday Devotion. But somehow, it seems something or someone is trying to delay me.
Left the condo with my favorite Omega Speedmaster 38 mm on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
Find a parking slot. ✅
Grocery. ✅
Senior Citizen grocery booklet for a max PhP2,500.00 discount. ❎
Now, Edgar, the driver, has to go back and get my booklet. That 2.5K savings is BIG. We put our grocery cart on the side, advising our regular bagger, and will get it later to pay. I started yesterday's blog at the food court while waiting for Edgar's return.
After paying, I left Edgar to bring our groceries home.
I proceeded to Greenbelt Chapel for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I am 8th in the queue. Then, the priest stepped out from the confessional; but, his replacement is not yet around. Will I not complete my first Saturday devotion? Then, the two ahead of me left. Hmmm... Mama Mary has her ways. 😇
In any case, while in the queue, I prayed the Act of Reparation, and did a 15-minute meditation of the Carrying of the Cross. I have started to pray the Rosary but decided against it as I am already near the confessional. The confessor is Fr. Froilan.
Even with all the delays, I was able to do my confession, prayed the Rosary (as a community), and attended the Saturday Mass. 🙏 I was even able to do my Precious Blood Chaplet devotion.

The Mass presider is Fr. Anthony. He is from Australia. He came back for a vacation.
He started sharing his experiences related to availability.
Availability is one of the surest test of love.
Availability is the capacity to be of help to someone. If you are truly available, you there to help, you are there not because you will gain something. Availability is other-centered.
The twelve apostles made themselves available for the Lord and to proclaim His Kingdom.
Availability is not only physical presence but an open heart and mind. The Pharisees and Sadducees are always where Jesus was but their hearts and minds are not open to His teachings.
After the Mass, proceeded to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark. It is one of the Jubilee Churches. I hope to gain a plenary indulgence.
And for a quick lunch, I ate at the The Landmark's food court. Chose the pork chop with egg of Chuck's Steaks and Chops.
I have an idea of what to give Titas Josie and Norma. So I went to Made for U. It is available! I like it that I also ordered for myself. LOL. Will be able to pick it up next Saturday.
Then, I proceeded to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf where I bought a hot tea and started this blog. Because it is not a double stamp weekend, the length of the queue is acceptable.
Around 3 PM, I am on my way back to Greenbelt Chapel to attend the anticipated Mass. I was able to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary with the community.
The Mass presider is Fr. Richard.
There are many ways of teaching people. There are many ways of correcting children.
John the Baptist proclaims boldly, very harshly. It is because he understood He will be coming and we must be prepared. This harshness is coming from love... tough love.
When we are already in front of Jesus for judgment, there is no more way to correct your ways. By nature, we are stubborn.
When we do good, is it to please God or to please "us". We have to check our status in terms of our relationship with God.
What is the secret of success? You have to know what hinders success. Your competition is the person you see in the mirror. It is the choices we make on a daily basis.
After, went to The Landmark's Food Court to buy Lapid's chicharon, and to Dairy Queen to buy their DQ sandwich and Blizzard.
Home.
N.B. Learned that today is the last of the first Saturday devotion of the 100 years from the time Mama requested the first Saturday devotion during the Fatima apparitions. She specifically detailed the practice and promised graces for it on December 10, 1925.

Preventive Maintenance For HR-V
Already made a 9 AM appointment for my HR-V's preventive maintenance. Even if we have not arrived yet (since Edgar, the driver, already brought the car last night at Honda Makati), my service advisor reached out to me and gave my "go" signal to proceed with the service. Thus, I don't have to hurry there. Besides, I am preparing all the necessary documents for the joint affidavit being requested by PAG-IBIG so I can claim my retirement.
Left with my Tudor Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
Upon arriving at Honda Makati, I went to my service advisor and gave him my Christmas gift. Paid for the service. Edgar will pick up the car later once it is released.
I, then, asked Edgar to drop me off at Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel. Odd. At 10 AM, there is a Mass ongoing and Fr. Dave is presiding. Asked the guard and he told me that it is a special Mass.
So, walked a bit away from the chapel so I could proceed with my prayers. Completed my morning prayers, my Precious Blood Chaplet, and my St. Gertrude Chaplet. When I noticed that the Mass has ended, I walked my way back to church. I was able to join the community to pray the Rosary.
The Mass presider is Fr. Benny.
He encourages us to go to the Spirit of Advent--anticipating for His coming and be prepared.
The parable is on the miracle of giving sight to the two blind men. Jesus asked them if they believe that He can do this, that is, do they have faith?
Faith and grace of God create a miracle. Never without faith. Always with faith.
Even when Jesus told them not to tell about the miracle, the two men spread it because they cannot contain the happiness of being given sight. Also, because they saw the Lord.
Why did Jesus stop the two men from spreading what happened? At that time, there were other miracle workers. He doesn't want to be known as a miracle worker. He wants to be known as the Messiah.
After the Mass, I went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark. It is one of the Jubilee churches. I hope to gain a plenary indulgence and offer it for the souls in purgatory who sinned with their minds.
And of course for lunch, it is at Bacolod Chicken Inasal. I like their offering for non-meat (seafood and vegetables). I ordered Blue Marlin Steak (PhP247.00), Plain Rice (PhP45.50), Fried Veggie Lumpia (PhP137.00), and Maja Blanca (PhP79.50) for dessert. Thumbs up to the fried veggie lumpia.

Received advice from my service advisor that the car is ready for pick-up. Informed Edgar to do so and to pick me up at Glorietta after.
Since it is taking time for Edgar to pick me up, I decided to do some window-shopping (or so I thought). Saw me walking to Swatch and buying a quartz chronograph Greenshift Glow. Tsk! Tsk! And I don't think I have a green blouse to go with it!!!!
Instead of going straight home, I decided to go to Century Mall to order my Christmas Eve food at Conti's. Also passed by St. Paul's in hope to buy a Twin Hearts stampita. Not available.
Then, home.

Pag-IBIG
Supposed to have a lunch date today. It would fit perfectly as I have business in the area which I can do before our scheduled lunch. Unfortunately one of my dates got sick, thus, we have to reschedule.
Left the condominium around 8:45 AM with my Tudor Black Bay 54 on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right.
Processing my retirement claim from PAG-IBIG is a breeze. Originally, I thought I would be leaving with a check with me. You wish... Hahaha! They'll be processing it within 30 calendar days and I can have the check for pick-up or deposited to my account.
Next stop is at BPI to request for a Bank certificate, one of the requirements for a Visa application in Japan. I will have to return around 3 PM to pick up the document.
I walked my way to Metrobank to request for the same. Left with the Bank certificate. See the difference?
Met with my friend to give the wedding gift for my office mate this Saturday. My friend will be their godmother at their wedding.
Had an early lunch at Max's.
I received an e-mail from BPI that they have released my request. Huh? So, I will go back after my lunch to pick-up the Bank certificate instead of waiting for 3 PM.
It was ready and I was able to get it.

I walked my way to The Landmark and went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel. Did some window-shopping and asked Edgar, the driver, to pick me up at Glorietta. Bought Blizzard-to-go at Dairy Queen and waited for Edgar so I can go home.
Budget Hotel
Today, my niece will be accompanying me with my errands (she, too, has an errand).
I left the condo around 7:30 AM with my Rado Captain Cook Automatic on my left wrist and my Apple watch on my right, to pick up my niece on our way to Makati City Hall. Filing for our real property tax is a breeze. We decided to pay early to avail of the discount. Before leaving, asked about where to claim my Yellow Card and I was directed to one of the windows. Unfortunately, I do not have the claim stub.
After, we would be proceeding to ManilaMed to pay in advance for the RAI therapy procedure of Lyn but we stopped first to see the St. Martin de Porres Chapel along Leon Guinto.
When I was still young, I often had convulsions whenever I get a fever. They say if you experience it even after seven (7) years of age, it would be a lifetime--similar to asthma. So, we asked for the intercession of St. Martin de Porres, who is the patron saint of the poor, the sick, and those seeking healing, and people of mixed race due to his own experiences with discrimination and his charity toward all. His image shows children surrounding him as he gives bread to them. I recall always going to this chapel with my Nana. Then after, we buy barbecue on the way home.
Unfortunately, the chapel has been abandoned. 😔
So off we went to ManilaMed. The secretary is already there. Thus, left her the deposit as well as a copy of the PhilHealth MDR of the patient. I didn't know that copy of the PhilHealth ID is also needed. So I said I will just send it over via Viber.
Since we are sure of the procedure's schedule, it is time to book a room in a budget hotel for Lyn. She has to be quarantined for 14 days. She'll be staying in the hospital for 4 days and she will be released when the radiation level goes down to an acceptable level.
My niece already has a list of hotels for us to check but said to her we should be starting to the cheapest one. A difference of PhP300.00 per day means roughly PhP3,000.00 more in the total bill. Funny! We were advised to book online. Got it. Did the booking and made the payment already.
Next stop is at Cash & Carry for my niece who would be buying a specific size of balikbayan box at National Bookstore. We, then, had an early lunch at Mary Grace Cafe. I tried their Rib-eye Salpicao and Mango Bene (which according to the server tastes better than Conti's Mango Bravo when I asked her about this). My niece and Edgar, the driver, ordered Daing Na Bangus, and Matcha Latte (iced) and tea.
Passed by the condo to pick-up the claim stub for my Yellow Card, went to Storage Mart to store the luggage of my niece, and dropped-her off at her condo. We then proceeded to Makati City Hall, again, to claim the Yellow Card.
Since I arrived there during lunch time, I was asked to wait as the people are still having lunch. 😒 Anyway, with too many Senior Citizens around, you can hear a lot of stories while you wait. At exactly 1 PM, I followed-up again. Learned that my Yellow Card was already sent to our Barangay, and they would be delivering it to me.
Then, I proceeded home.
N.B. Distributed the share of the income of our apartments with my new co-owners. As agreed, this will be done after November for the income between December of last year to November of the current year. This way, we have additional money for Christmas.
