MAiSEN

It is not the first Saturday of the month nor grocery day, but I will be going to the mall earlier because I plan to attend the Saturday Mass.  It is the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary after all. 😀  Yesterday, it is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

It was more than an hour before the 12:15 Mass, I was able to finish my morning prayers, and the Precious Blood of Jesus chaplet at the Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel.  I was also able to pray the Rosary with the community.

The Mass presider is Fr. Joel.

We are called to imitate the spirituality of Mother Mary's heart.

Listening heart.  Heart that discerns, listens, prays.  The "noise" of the world has already robbed us of a listening heart.  "Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

Loving heart.  Mary was troubled when she cannot find Jesus.  Her love is not only sentimental, not only in good times.  She loves even  when it is difficult to love.  Mary at the foot of the cross showed what true love is.

Leading heart.  "His mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever he tells you.'" (John 2:5).  Devotion to Mary is not a distraction to follow Jesus.

After the Mass, went to Greenbelt 5 for my taste test.  I was toying with the idea of at eating at Paul Le Cafe, thinking that they are offering meal aside from coffee.  They only have sandwiches.  On my way to Paul Le Cafe, I saw the store of Chopard.  I like their Happy Sports collection because of the dancing diamonds.  LOL.  Maybe next time...

So off to search for another restaurant.  Most offer group meals.  Except for MAiSEN.  Nice!

MAiSEN

I chose to try their Chicken Teriyaki set (PhP450.00).  It is actually very good.  I can eat here again anytime.  👍

Next stop is Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark.  It is a Jubilee Church and hope to gain a plenary indulgence.  I offer this plenary indulgence to my Uncle Ramon, the youngest brother of my Tatay.  The chapel is decorated like a fiesta.

Lunch (taste test) ✔
Jubilee church (for plenary indulgence) ✔

So, it is time for my usual haunt at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf where I had a regular hot Cafe Latte (not my usual frappuccino).  This is also where I started this blog.

Back to Greenbelt Chapel for the anticipated Mass.  The Mass presider is Fr. Benny.

Saints Peter and Paul are pillars of the church.  Through them, we received the deposits of faith coming from the Lord Jesus.

Peter is responsible to proclaim the Gospel to the Jews.  Paul is responsible for the Gentiles, non-Jews.

This is a reminder to us that we have two people as witnesses to the Lord.

Once a teaching (of Jesus) has been revealed, no one, not even the Pope, can change it.  The teaching of the Lord brings us salvation.

After the Mass, went to BPI to withdraw from the ATM, Booya Bagels for bagels-to-go, Bistro Ravioli for pasta-to-go, and Chrisha's Kitchen for sugar-free cake.

Rado then Tissot

Was scheduled to work from home.  Still, filed for a half-day leave to go to my appointment with my doctor.  I know I would not be comfortable waiting at the doctor's clinic without filing that leave.

The start of my doctor's clinic is at 9 AM.  Was there before then.  I would be taking (injection) the prolia as well as show him the result of my bone mineral densitometry.  There is improvement. 🙏

Edgar, the driver, and Theo, the dog, is about to leave for the latter's grooming.  Since I was done before 9:30 AM, asked them to pick me up and I will be going with them to Glorietta.  Theo would be going to Pet Express.

I was actually toying with the idea of buying a Tissot automatic watch as my daily watch.  The Rado automatic watch I bought last Saturday would be for special occasions.

I was the first customer of Tissot at Glorietta.  Just like Rado, they have a 10% discount.  I got their 20th Anniversary Collection ladies watch, with diamonds.  It comes with an extra strap.

Tissot Le Locle Automatic 20th Anniversary Collection

After, went to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to drink their signature drink and have my stamp card stamped.  I only need one more stamp for their free tote bag.

Since it would take some time for Theo to finish, Edgar and I had an early lunch at The Landmark Food Center before going home.  Edgar would pick Theo later when he finishes his grooming.

Honolulu Cafe

Today, my Avanza is scheduled for its rustproofing, interior detailing and ceramic gloss.  Unfortunately, the stocks needed for the ceramic gloss is not yet available that I will have to schedule it separately.  Thus, it would only be the car's rustproofing.

We were already parking at Ziebart since I'll be paying for the service already so that Edgar, the driver, will just have to pick-up the car later, when I received the call.  Talked inside my HR-V.  There were a lot of stories to share that I suspect I would not be able to attend the noon Mass.

Ziebart

After paying, I went to The Landmark supermarket for my grocery.  Even if doing the grocery is a breeze, I was right that I would not be able to make it for the noon Mass.  YouTube already notified me that the rosary has started (the Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel airs their Mass live online).

This means, I would have my lunch early.  I do believe that I have tried most of the restaurants at Glorietta.  Thus, I decided to try the ones at Greenbelt.

My feet brought me to Honolulu Cafe.  Asked which menu item they would recommend.  They said, the Roasted Pork Belly Rice (PhP288.00).  I don't feel like trying their drinks as I think it would be sweet.  (Free) warm water for me.  LOL

Honolulu Cafe

Roasted Pork Belly Rice

It is OK.  Not really that exciting.  I think I prefer the food at Mamak Kopitiam at Glorietta.

Before going to my usual haunt, Glorietta, strolled around Greenbelt, looking for the next restaurant I would be doing my taste-test.

At The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, I ordered their signature drink to complete my stamp card.  They stamped the "Any drink" slot.  When I reminded them that it is supposed to be for the signature drink, they stamped that, too!  Now, that's a double stamp on a non-double stamp day for me!  LOL

It is also here where I started this blog.

Last night, I was browsing the Rado Philippines website.  I was thinking of buying a watch--a watch that does not need to be charged or linked to a mobile phone.  Many, many years ago, I entered their store at Glorietta because a watch caught my eye.  Left as soon as I learned the price.  LOL.

But this time, I am determined to own one.  Maybe because of recent events, a bit of pampering on my side won't be bad.  😆

Left the store with an automatic watch, a Rado Centrix Diamonds in their 2025 collection.  It has 12 diamonds on its face.

Rado Centrix

When setting the date/ time, set it first at six o’clock (or 6:30). Set the date a day before. Then set to the correct time (and date). Initial winding is 15 to 20. Since it is automatic, it winds with your movement. But if you have not used it for a long time, succeeding is 15 times. Do not over-wind. Also, do not change the date between 8 PM to 2AM.

The Mass presider is Fr. Rolando, Bishop of Papua New Guinea.  We are celebrating the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as the Corpus Christi.

The Eucharist is the true presence of Jesus.  Not a symbol.  Not a representation.

When you receive the Eucharist, you are receiving Jesus.  Jesus is with us until the end of time, especially in the Eucharist.

There's no act that pleases God the Father so much than what Jesus did on the cross.

The greatest act of worship is the Eucharist, the sacrifice.  1 Corinthians 11:26: This means that EVERY TIME you eat this bread and drink from this cup you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

What our Protestant brothers miss is the Eucharist, the sacrifice of Jesus being offered to God.  What they have is the Word; but, not the sacrifice.

After the Mass, I went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark, a Jubilee Church, hoping to gain a plenary indulgence and I offer it for my Uncle Celso, my Tatay's brother.

Then to Anson's at The Landmark, too, to buy a small rice cooker as our existing one is acting up; Japan's Home Centre to buy disposable plastic gloves; BPI to withdraw.  Left all my bag and purchases in the car with Edgar.  I wanted to buy the new sugar-free of Chrisha's Kitchen to taste it, but it is already sold out.  I really liked their sugar delight Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Cake.  Their other sugar delight, Biscoff Crunch Cake, looks sweet.  So I bought a small one so I can taste it at home.  Finally, at Mos Burger for food-to-go.

ChaTraMue

Today, I hope that my trial/s regarding our rental property will be addressed.  The exchange of messages yesterday with my sibling (I honestly think the one replying is not my brother but his second wife) would already show where I stand.  And I do think that the tenant has reached out to them; thus, the communication to me which they started yesterday.

But first, I need to go to Toyota Manila Bay for the preventive maintenance of my Toyota Avanza.  Made a 9:30 AM appointment.

Next stop is at Dolores where we have the property rented.  I met the tenant and his wife.  We were supposed to meet at 10:30 AM.  I was just in time.
  • Yes, he TXTed my sibling regarding the rental payment concern.  No reply from my brother.  The second wife called him.
  • Yes, she will return the post dated checks that have been issued.
  • Yes, they admitted what I assumed happened to the second check.
  • I also asked the tenant to email me the details of the checks because I would reflect it on the receipt when I issue it to them.
All this was completed in time for me to be able to attend the 12:15 PM Mass at Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel.

The Mass presider is Fr. Joel.

Honesty is the best policy.  We should be men and women of integrity.  If we are honest, we acquire integrity.

After the Mass, proceeded to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark, one of the Jubilee churches.  The plenary indulgence I would gain I offer for Vangie.

And for my taste-test this week, it would be ChaTraMue.

ChaTraMue

I asked for their recommendation.  It would be Padkra Pao Moo Saab or Stir Fried Pork with Holy Basil (PhP320.00) or Pad Kra Pao Gai or Stir Fried Chicken with Holy Basil (PhP320.00).  Chose the chicken.  There are three levels of spiciness.  Opted for the mildest.  For the drinks, it is either Thai Lemon Tea (PhP150.00) or Honey Lemon Green Tea (PhP150.00).  Chose the Thai Lemon Tea.

Pad Kra Pao Gai

Thai Lemon Tea

When I told the server who recommended the dishes that their mildest is still too spicy for me, he told me that it is possible to tell them to hold the chili.  Duh!

The friends I met at Greenbelt Chapel were also having their lunch there.  They are not happy with the food they ordered.  Hehehe!

After, I proceeded to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf where I started this blog.  It is a two sticker/ stamp day today.  No wonder the queue is long.

Then, proceeded to Greenbelt Chapel to attend the anticipated Mass.

The Mass presider is Fr. Ruben.  It is the vigil of the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity.

The Holy Trinity is all over us.  Father, the Creator.  Jesus reconciles is to the Father, redeems us from mortality.  The Holy Spirit sanctifies us.

We live in the Trinity and is part of our life.

With Adam and Eve, man wants to be god--enters the evil one.

With Father's day, fathers are co-creator of God.  Thus, take care of your, your children, the earth, etc.

During Mass, a butterfly flew around.  Odd... There are several Masses I attended at Greenbelt Chapel where I see a butterfly fly.  Not sure if it is the same butterfly.  The first time I saw butterfly; I was able to take its photo as it was perched by the altar.  That was May 3.

After the Mass, went to BPI at Glorietta 2 to withdraw, Peri-Peri to buy food-to-go and Mary Grace for a mini-cake.

Mann Hann

It is time to have the result of the laboratory tests I took last Friday to be interpreted.

Reported for work in the office (while Edgar went to my doctor's clinic to list my name after dropping me off at the office), and would take a half-day sick leave in the afternoon to go to Makati Medical Center.

My doctor changed one of my maintenance medicines.  Also was asked to take fish oil daily instead of every other day.

Thus, I went to Glorietta to buy the medicines.  Bought the fish oil at Healthy Options and the new medicine at Mercury Drug at The Landmark.  Good thing the new medicine is made by Unilab--got a discount because of the partnership of Mercury Drug Suki and Unilab.

Bought a box of Trio at 10 Yen King.  Since it is no-meat Wednesday, I decided to buy food-to-go.  Chose Mann Hann as I would not be able to try it when I eat dine in.  Ordered Garlic Kangkong (PhP295.00) and Fried Squid (PhP495.00).

Bone Mineral Densitometry with VFA

Took a leave today.  Things to do today are:

  • Undergo the Bone Mineral Densitometry with VFA requested by my doctor.  My appointment is at 10:30 AM.
  • Go to Dolores hoping to talk to the tenant.  The rent should be divided between me and my sibling.  The process is that a check is given to my sibling and my sibling will issue a check to me for my share. No issue with the first six months check.  I have not received my share for the second six months check--and I don't think I would see it.  I would request the tenant to issue two post-dated checks per month--one named to me and the other to my sibling.  As guided by the priest in my last confession, there are other ways to help, not just by money.  In this case, it would be a way for my sibling to avoid sin (of stealing).
At the MMC Wellness Center, it feels like they are "pampering" you.  Since I was early, I was able to finish by 10:30 AM.

So off we (Edgar, the driver, and I) go to Dolores.  My action today culminated from the messages between me and my sibling last Sunday.  The facts, the lies.  I TXTed my sibling to tell Joey to meet us.  I just know the name of the tenant but I have not met him nor know his contact details.

Joey is nowhere in sight.  So many assumptions are running in my head.  Either my sibling did not tell him to be there, or was told to but Joey does not want to be involved, or was told to hide.

But that did not stop me.  Was able to talk on the phone with the primary tenant via his mother.  Thank You! 🙏

After, I went to Glorietta for a late lunch.  We had our lunch at El Pollo Loco.  My niece is also at Glorietta.  Messaged her so we can go home at the same time.  Already finished our lunch and have our coffee-to-go from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, my niece is still not done whatever it is she is doing.  So I left her.  Edgar will just go back to her to bring her home.

The Landmark Food Center

First Saturday of June. Grocery day. Preventive maintenance for my HR-V.

The appointment for my HR-V is at 8:30 AM today.  But Edgar already brought the car yesterday that Lorenz, my service advisor, already prepared the necessary paperwork for its servicing ready for today.  It means, I don't have to leave really early.

But I think, I should have moved as if I am trying to beat the 8:30 AM.  It is my fault for panicking later since I wanted my First Saturday Devotion to be done smoothly.

My business at Honda Cars Makati is quick.  Got the statement from Lorenz, paid for it, gave the form to Edgar so he can pick the car later with no hassle.

Even finding a parking slot at Glorietta is a breeze. 🙏

Grocery at The Landmark Supermarket is a breeze, too.  Left Edgar to bring our groceries home after paying for it.

I walked my way to the Sto. Niño de Paz Greenbelt Chapel.  I was fifth in the queue to the confessional--boy, was I happy!

I should have known.  Each penitent spends 20 to 30 minutes at the confessional.  Did Father know there are many people in the queue?  I wanted to start my 15-minute meditation of The Nativity, but I was not able to concentrate.  The rosary as a community has started.  I was able to join the first two decades but I am not focusing... 😒  I was already thinking, if the Mass has started, I will ask the people to go ahead of me as I wanted to complete the Saturday Mass.  I have been asking Mama Mary to help me with the schedule.  Tee-hee!

The confessor is Fr. Froilan.  No wonder.  Aside from absolution, he is also giving guidance based on what you confessed.  Thank you! 🙏

I tried following the nature and number "formula" when confessing; but somehow, Fr. Froilan was able to pinpoint the cause.  So it can be venting...? Thus, the story just came out.  Now, that's three priests sharing the same wisdom.

I was able to finish around 11:45 AM that I still have time to do my 15-minute meditation.

The Mass presider is Fr. Paolo.

Fr. Paolo started by asking how do you envision your personal death?  Death is a reality of life.

In the previous Gospel, Peter will die a martyr's death 30 years after the statement of Jesus.  In today's Gospel, it is about the death of John the Beloved.  He will die a natural death.

The Apostle's allowed the love of God to envelopo their fear of death.

Ang takot mamatay ay takot mabuhay... nang may kabuluhan.

(L)ive (I)n (F)aith (E)veryday.

Life is not the length but the depth.  Life is not speed but substance.

After the Mass, I did not leave immediately.  Instead, I prayed the rosary and the act of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary--to complete my First Saturday Devotion.

Then, I went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark, one of the Jubilee churches.  Hoping to gain a plenary indulgence and I offer it for Lily, my Nana's niece.

Since time is short, I decided to have my lunch at The Landmark Food Center, the store's food court.  When I eat here, I usually order the pork chop with egg (PhP120.00) at Chuck's Steaks and Chops. Besides, I ate lavishly yesterday. LOL.

Pork chop with egg

And of course, to start this blog, I went to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf where I ordered a hot cafe latte.  Thanks to my intermittent cough, I have to avoid cold drinks for now.

I wanted to give my nephew and nieces the portable door lock, too, which they can use during their travels for added safety.  Passed by True Value to buy them before proceeding to Greenbelt Chapel.

The Mass presider is Fr. Ronaldo.

Pentecost is the birthday of the church.  It is hard to understand the Holy Spirit but we can experience its gifts.  It is given to those have the humility and accept it.

The proper attitude is not intellectual understanding only.  It is an attitude of humility, faith and love.  Whenever the Holy Spirit is present, there is understanding, love, humility, faith, forgiveness.

The Holy Spirit is the most beautiful give given to us by God.

After the Mass, I went to the hardware section of The Landmark to buy a rear view mirror.  The dashboard camera (a.k.a. dash cam) of my HR-V is already defective so I asked Honda Cars Makati to remove it.  I bought it there years ago and they were the ones who installed it.  Thus, I asked if they could remove it (safely instead of me).  They did--at no charge.  Thank you.

Anyway, I wanted the brand Broadway, similar to that installed in my Toyata Avanza.  I went to Blaze to check if they carry the brand.  They did not.

Instead of cake, I decided to buy cream puff at Beard Papa's.

Then, on my way home.

Bom Gosto! 2

A holiday; but set an appointment for a medical laboratory test.  Have to fast for 10 to 12 hours for both tests.

Left the condominium around 7 AM.  No traffic to Makati Medical Center due to the holiday.  Blood extraction completed around 7:45 AM.  Good thinkg, too, as my last meal is around 8:15 PM. 🙏

My next test is scheduled for 9:30 AM.  Should be there 30 minutes before the appointment; else, I would be considered a walk-in patient.  Proceeded there after buying a bottle of water.  I thought my test would require that I am full of water.  Nope.  Good! 😆 Because if this is the case, I think I would finish around 10:30 AM.  LOL

After, I would be attending the Friday Mass at Sto. Nino de Paz Greenbelt Chapel--it is the first Friday of June.  Since I am still early for the 12:15 PM Mass, I have Edgar drop me off at Glorietta.  Did some window shoppint at Nitori, and True Value.  Saw a portable door lock at True Value.  Bought one (as well as a travel adaptor).  I think this would be helpful on my travels.

Walked my way to Greenbelt Chapel.  I was able to pray the Rosary with the community.

The Mass presider is Fr. Benny.

Are you the kind of person who will ask others if they love you?

Jesus was to entrust the leadership of the apostles and the Church to Peter.  Jesus wanted to be sure he will be committed to his mission.

The condition to be a good servant is to (agape) love Him first.

After, went to Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel at The Landmark.  It is one of the Jubilee churches.  Hoping to gain a plenary indulgence and I offer it for Tita Leony.

Since it is a no-meat Friday, decided to try the Baked Bacalao of Bom Gosto! at One Ayala.

Baked Bacalao

While there, I noticed someone doing a product shoot.  They are now using mobile phones as cameras for a professional service! 😆

Product Shoot

Well, it is good, but I prefer the viand I tried the first time here. Will opt to order that again if I eat here again.

Before proceeding home, bought the Trio at 10 Yen King and Cafe Latte at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Tote Bag

Hair-pampering day.

Already made a 10 AM appointment.  After, I would buy the items I forgot to buy yesterday.

On the 4/F of The Landmark, I bought a can opener, universal adaptor and power strip.  At its supermarket, I bought a roll of plastic bag and a pack of tissue paper.

For my food-to-go, I ordered pizza and chicken at Greenwich Pizza at Glorietta.  While waiting for it to be prepared, went to Shakey's Pizza to buy one bottle of iced tea.  Of course, to already avail of the free tote bag, I drank a Spanish Latte at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf--it has to be hot drink this time because of my cough and sometimes (?) a cold.  While sipping my coffee, called Edgar to already pick me up at the Glorietta.

CBTL Tote Bag

With my Olive green tote bag, a bottle of iced tea, and other purchases, picked up my food-to-go and walked to where Edgar, the driver, will be picking me up.
