More on my Aspire...
The movies being shown in the theaters are ho-hummm.... Thus, decided to watch
Cirque Imago at the Glorietta Activity Center, instead. This show was brought by Ayala Management for its customers.
Before the show, decided first to buy some items for my new laptop. Slowly ticked the items off my list: firewire cable, three meter network cable (PC to hub) and laptop lock.
Then, attended the anticipated Mass after the show and had dinner at
heaven 'n eggs.
My Aspire
Left the office early, was still able to see sunlight when I stepped out of the building. (hehehe!) Have to pick-up the laptop I ordered.
My first laptop, an Acer Travelmate, is really crying out that it be replaced. I originally bought one so I can use something for the election's quick count. It served me loyally for six years. And it may still last as it is still running and I have just to bring it to the service center from time to time to "glue" parts that are getting loose... Good thing, its owner does not need to be "glued". LOL
My timing is lucky. Two weeks before, I was making rounds of the computer shops at Glorietta, taking brochures and comparing prices. Until I finally decided what laptop to buy. By Friday, informed the computer store to order the model I want so that I can pick it up on Saturday. Good thing I checked the website Friday night, it is when I learned that the price of the model I liked dropped by P7,000.00. That means, I can pay the unit for 12 months at 0% interest with its new rate! And the store would also be providing me with freebies. But the unit was not available by Saturday, but the store promised to call me once it is available. And that is today!
Originally, I thought the unit does not have a firewire. Because from
Acer's website, it is not included in the specifications. Even Googled for any model of Acer that has a firewire, and that model does not pop-up in the list. Lo and behold! When I checked the unit when I got home, learned that it has one.
Haayyyy... Now, I can even edit videos (not just photos) mobile. c",)
My Super Ex-Girlfriend
It is a start of a long weekend. Monday, August 21, was declared a non-working holiday. Yes!
Woke up late; but, not too late so as to catch the second showing for the day of
My Super Ex-Girlfriend at Glorietta 1.
Starring Uma Thurman as Jenny Johnson, who also happens to be a superwoman called G-Girl. Similar to Superman who leads a double life--Clark Kent and Superman--Jenny Johnson works in an art gallery and saves the world on the side. The movie is funny. It is predicatable and shallow; thus, don't expect too much.
After the movie, strolled around the mall, checked what a Nokia N73 looks like, bought CD-R and DVD-R for my niece who SMSed me to buy them, confirm if the laptop I like really lowered the price since last week I checked it, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Italianni's.
Stormbreaker
Can be considered as a young James Bond, Alex Rider has been trained by his uncle to learn martial arts, scuba diving, mountain climbing, etc. not knowing that all this is to prepare him to be a secret agent, like his uncle. When his uncle was killed during a mission, Alex is forced to take a mission for the British secret service and hopefully save Britain.
BTW, the movie is
Stormbreaker. hehehe!
After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Pancake.
Meet Pixie
I call her Pixie, a Pixel Chix from Mattel. c",)
Fish Shoot
Left early from work yesterday as my niece and her classmates were at home waiting for me. Thought it would be the start of the video shoot... well, na-uh! They just recorded (sang) the song that would serve as a background to their school project's video.
Woke up really early for the video shoot as they still have classes around 10AM. Have to pick them up one by one from their homes and proceeded to the park along Gamboa Street in Makati City. Just shot a few sequence, a security guard approached us and asked if we've got permit (?!). Of course, not. But since they know it is a school project and we won't be taking videos of the buildings, just the kids with the trees as background, they agreed. So, the film started rolling again.
It was a quick take. We then proceeded to McDonald's for a short bite. Just in time for their 10AM appointment in school.
After lunch, after transferring the video to my computer (I would be editing it with my niece after I get home), proceeded to Ayala Center. Have not much time to watch a movie, so decided to stroll around the mall and buy a few items.
Attended the anticipated Mass. Afterwhich, we went to
Fish & Co., as a birthday treat by my friend. We had Pasta and Shrimp Salad, New York Fish and Chips, pork chops, and Chocolate Eruption for dessert. Burp!
