American Ultra Sicario
Movie marathon.
Since early for the opening of the cinema counter to buy tickets, decided to claim my free meal from BPI Amore at
Italianni's. To enjoy my meal without thinking that I may not be able to purchase the tickets based on the screening time I intend to watch, bought tickets online via
mPass.
After my early lunch, loaded up my mPass.
My first movie is
Sicario. An FBI agent Kate Macer volunteers to join the task force dealing drug-related violence on the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Although the Kate is the main character, she is just an observer of what was going on. Torn between what is right and what is wrong... what is right, anyway, given the circumstances. Like.
In between my movies, received an SMS regarding the rubber shoes on sale that I have reserved. So went to
MBT for it.
My next movie is
American Ultra. A sleeper agent was marked for termination. Activated, his long-hidden skills emerged to survive. Romance, comedy, violence in a package. Was wondering where I saw the lead actor (because of his acting). Then, I remembered it is the movie
Zombieland. The female lead is from
Twilight.
Attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Bistro Ravioli. Then, bought my birthday gift for my
inaanak.
The Last Witch Hunter
On leave... birthday leave. We are granted a birthday leave and we can take it anytime in our birthday month. Already planned to go to my doctor after getting the result of my sonomammography. Would also visit my nephew who was confined yesterday at
Makati Medical Center.
Took first my result. Result of my sonomammography is:
Distinct solid (right) and hypoechoic (left) masses with suggestively benign sonographic features. Clinical correlation and short-term follow-up by sonography after 6 months suggested to monitor stability. Simply cysts, bilateral.
BIRADS Category 3.
Then went to my doctor's clinic and have me listed. Clinic starts at 1PM.
Proceeded to my nephew's room while waiting for my appointment. Had lunch at
Pancake House in the hospital and waited at the doctor's clinic.
After my check-up, walked my way to Ayala Center. Took me 12:40min/km for my 1.20km walk. I think I'm getting slow...
Bought discounted movie ticket for
The Last Witch Hunter.
Cursed with immortality by the witch queen he killed, he is again the world's last protector against the resurrected queen. There's action, the paranormal, special effects.
Goosebumps
It's my treatment at
KARADA. Already made reservation for 10AM for AP + BT 90 minutes treatment.
And for my movie? Decided to watch
Goosebumps. Bought a discounted movie ticket. And since my screening would still be around 3PM, decided to claim my free meal from BPI Amore at
Italianni's.
Between lunch and the movie, walked. Hehehe!
Teenager Zach moves from New York to a small town with his mother. Obviously upset, what makes up to it is meeting their neighbor Hannah with a mysterious father. Unwittingly, he unleashes monsters trapped in the original manuscript by the father, author R.L. Stine. A combination of Jumanji, Gremlins, Ghost Busters. Weh!
Tomorrow, will take a half-day off from work to take the sonomammography test.
JBL Clip+
Walked my way to
Ayala Center. Took me 12:34min/km pace for a 1.4km walk. I wanted to watch either
Goosebumps or
The Last Witch Hunter. These movies were longer than usual that if I watch the movie, I might miss the anticipated Mass. So, no movie for now.
Hoping to claim my free meal from BPI Amore at
Italianni's but there were many customers and I would have to wait for a table. So, it is
Bistro Ravioli for me.
Wanted to buy a bluetooth speaker with built-in microphone. With a touch of a button in the speaker, it can answer a phone call. Surfed the internet and I was eyeing for the
JBL Clip+. Bought it at
Listen Up.
Then... walked.
Passed by The Landmark to buy candles for November 1. Left my purchases at the package counter. Will pick it up later when the driver arrives.
After the anticipated Mass, had dinner at Luk Yuen.
Crimson Peak
Typhoon Lando would not deter me on my weekend movie. LOL. Also got a mango torte from
Cuerva Bakeshop as a gift.
Since I have a coupon from using my BPI Amore, claimed my free movie ticket for
Crimson Peak. Bought my lunch at
Burger King where I would have it inside the cinema.
An aspiring author fell in love with a seductive stranger, married him when her father died, and was brought to his house atop a mountain of blood-red clay. A gothic romance, horror, thriller. Like. The movie is visually beautiful. It is only after finishing the movie did I realize that the lead actor is Loki of Thor movies. Hahahaha!
Made reservation for next Sunday at
KARADA and attended the anticipated Mass. Then, we had dinner at
Bistro Ravioli.
Since it is raining, had the driver pick me up at
The Landmark after doing groceries (including Nana's diapers).
Scooter
Day 5. Time to clean-up my scooter and bring out my Instax. It will be a travel with my scooter. Will have Marysan with me.
After dropping-off my niece to her work, we were brought to
Rizal Park. I don't know what it is with the kick scooter but people are looking at us. I don't find it odd for adults using a kick scooter. LOL
|
Me and my kick scooter at Rizal Park |
After having our fill at the Rizal Park, we (kick) scooted and walked to
Intramuros. Even the policemen and MMDA personnel are looking at us. Hehehe!
|
At Manila Cathedral |
When we arrived at
Manila Cathedral, was surprised there were lots of people and media. Forgot that COMELEC is also at the
Palacio del Governador. This week is the filing of COC for national and local positions.
|
At Fort Santiago |
Our last stop is at the Fort Santiago. There was a shower when we arrived there. So we had snack at the cafe while waiting for the drizzle to stop.
For lunch, we ate at
Max's Restaurant. Because it is hard to take a ride home, used
Uber for the first time. Not bad.
Buffet, Again
Day 4 of my mandatory leave. This time I would be treating my friends who are now either in Metrobank, BPI, Lhuillier. It would be at
Cabalen. Since Cabalen no longer accepts reservation unless you are a group of 50, have to be there early to ensure our table.
As yesterday, since I was early before the mall opens, went first to
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
Did some window-shopping first (to increase my steps) and, by 11AM, already went to Cabalen. It was fun because you get a few gossip here and there. Hehehe!
After, just strolled around the mall. Was thinking of taking a cab home but decided against it. Bought some groceries and asked to be picked-up at the mall. Besides, it is raining. Weh!
Mini-Stepper
Day 3 of my mandatory five day leave. I would be treating my team for lunch. Already made reservations at
Buffet 101. They have a promo wherein for a group of four, one is free for the celebrant of the month. Since we are eight and two of us are October celebrants, we have two free. c",)
As usual, two of them did not arrive with the group because they were surely tasked to buy my gift. LOL. I thought it was a cake. Surprise, surprise! It is a mini-stepper. When I saw them carrying the gift wrapped item in a The Landmark wrapper, I knew! Hehehe! Luv it. Now, I don't have to go to the rest room every hour to walk after one hour of sitting.
Then, my movie. Bought discounted movie ticket for
Pan.
An orphan boy (along with other boys) was abducted by pirates to be brought to a magical land. They were brought there to the mines to look for fairy dust. But Peter is unlike the other boys for he is the son of a fairy and a mortal. And according to the prophecy, this boy that could fly will lead the rebellion against Pirate Blackbeard. Didn't know that (Captain) Hook and Peter Pan used to be friends. c",)
To prepare when I report to work again on Tuesday, bought a
Skechers GOwalk2 and a mat to put on the mini-stepper. Then, proceeded home.
Sunday, October 11, 2015
Just stayed at home. But received the other gift of my niece from Korea. She downloaded all the episodes of the TV series I requested her to. Yes!!!!
Nephew's Nuptial
It is my nephew's wedding. We will be leaving the house around 8:30AM with a rented van. We were eight in all plus the driver.
It is actually about a two-hour trip. Instead of proceeding to the
Mimosa Villas, stopped first at
Binulo for our lunch. Requested the help of the waiter which food to try. So, ordered
Paco Salad, Shrimp
Okoy,
Sisig,
Binulong Nasi (rice cooked in bamboo),
Kalderetang Kambing, and
Pangat na Ulang (prawn cooked in bamboo).

Then, proceeded to Mimosa Villas to rest, prepare for the wedding. At around 2PM, we proceeded to St. Joseph the Worker Chapel. Took some photos (taking care not disturb the official photographers and videographers).
The things I consider highlights of the wedding are:
* When the couple are sharing, cried when it was the turn of my nephew. He also mentioned his lola. It is not only me who cried--even my cousins, my aunts, etc.
* Since I was in the choir loft most of the wedding, when it was nearing to end, decided to go down. Then, ahead of me going down the stairs is a butterfly. My nanay always show her presence thru a butterfly. She just wouldn't miss the wedding of his favorite apo. c",)
Went to Holiday Inn for the reception.
Finished the programme before proceeding home.
When I arrived home, the gift of my other niece finally arrived. Hehehe! Thank you.
BDay
My day!
So, pampering first. Actually, it is a treatment for my back at
KARADA.
Then, lunch at
Bistro Ravioli of spinach and feta cheese ravioli with warm water. Supposedly no cold water for four hours after my treatment.
Went to
Greenbelt Chapel to thank Him for the blessings He has bestown on me.
Was thinking of buying a camera bag and a presentable bag for the wedding tomorrow. But nothing fits my criteria for the camera bag, guess the only bag I would be bringing is my shoulder bag camera case that I like so much.
Then proceeded home. Already ordered the food-to-go at
Emerald Garden Restaurant for a little
salo-salo at home. Will pick my order around 6PM. My
kuya, nieces and nephew are already at Clark because the wedding will be held in St. Joseph the Worker Chapel at Pampanga. One of my nieces flew in from South Korea for the wedding.
Her gift for me is birthday cake plus another surprise. Would be receiving the surprise either tomorrow or on Sunday. The gift of my other niece seems to have gotten lost. Hehehe!
Etiquette For Martian?
It is required for us to take a leave for five (5) consecutive days. This is a way to catch if you are doing monkey-business.
For Day 1, decided to go to
Circuit Makati. This is the first time I will be going to there. Odd... the Circuit Mall seems to be closed. Asking the guard, it opens at 11AM (similar to
Greenbelt). So asked to be dropped at
Glorietta, instead, my usual mall haunt.
It will be a movie marathon then. Bought discounted movie tickets for
Etiquette for Mistresses and
The Martian.
Since I still have a coupon for a free meal at
Jollibee from BPI credit card, availed of my free lunch. My niece who was also at the mall dropped by. She would be buying shoes for her mom and sister to be used in her brother's wedding on Saturday.
Four mistresses friends took in their wing a new girl, a mistress of the husband of a presidential candidate. Georgia is tasked to teach Ina the ways of being the other woman, the rules to keep her lover happy and avoid scandal. But Chloe has a different approach. Georgia teaches discretion above all else; Chloe demands more from her lover. OK. The bottom line is Rule #10.
In between the movies I window-shopped. Well... actually bought a blouse. Thinking if I would be wearing it in the wedding or my old one. Hehe!
"The Martian" is about an astronaut left behind by his team in Mars. It shows man's determination to live, cooperation (people in NASA combining all their great minds to bring him back), and science (by tackling one problem one at a time). Like.
Bought an almond sans rival at
Sugarhouse. Cakes at Sugar House is 20% off 5 days before and after birthday. So got mine at 20% off. c",)
Hair, Luglug, Chickenjoy
Hair-pampering day.
Since early for the mall's opening, first had Eggs Ben breakfast at
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.
After my haircut, bought Razon's
pancit luglug and one-bucket of Jollibee Chickenjoy for
meryenda at home. Of course, made several walks in between the haircut and buying the
meryenda. Hehehe!
Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk 2015
My friend
Tilak Hettige will once again lead one of the photowalks on
Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk 2015. This time, the venue is
Dangwa Flower Market.
Woke up really early as we have to be at the meet-up place (Chowking) by 5:30AM. When I arrived, Tilak is already there plus 5 photowalkers. There was just a short talk by Tilak, group hug photo and we (photo)walked!
Each participant was given a PIN button as souvenir. The design for the PIN button was made by my niece.
Although we are a smaller group than usual, it was fun. We were also able to meet new friends. One even suggested where we can enjoy our bonding after the walk. So, we did a convoy to
Jonas Pares. This restaurant is known for its beef pares.
I will be dropping-off Tilak at his home plus one photowalker. Since we passed-by La Loma, Quezon City, we stopped to take more photos. La Loma is known for its
lechon.
Dropped my gear at home then proceeded to
Glorietta. Since I don't feel like watching the movies being shown, just walked/window-shopped. Also, made reservation at
Buffet 101 for my birthday treat. Attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Kaya.
