Too Many Things
Hair-pampering.
Usually, was already at the mall before it opens so that I would already have breakfast at
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf before proceeding to the
H&M Salon. Woke up late; thus, was late.
Also, Mhai, one our angels, is going home and she's not sure if she's going back. Hope she will.
After, had a late lunch at
La Piadina. Chose pasta lingguini. Its my first time here. Not bad. Decided that, if possible, would try new restaurants.
Bought cakes at
Red Ribbon before going home.
Plan to witness (on TV) the Canonization of John XXIII and John Paul II.
Fever
Did not go to work last Wednesday due to migraine.
Did not go to work again yesterday because I am feeling under the weather. When finally I was able to, went to
Makati Medical Center for a check-up. Have tonsillitis and was given antibiotics and gargle for it. It is also because of it I'm having a fever. Then, went to
Glorietta for lunch at
Pancake House, deposit the check, bought the medicines and groceries at
The Landmark before proceeding home.
Today, left the house after lunch for I plan to attend the anticipated Mass. After, had dinner at
Kaya.
Easter Sunday
Our usual Easter Sunday activity is to go to
Cuyab Hot Spring Resort with my angels. At least, we can say, we went for a swim this summer. Weh!
So, woke up early to buy the food we will be bringing at
The Aristocrat, one of the oldest restaurants in the country. While waiting for to-go food prepared, went to
Malate Catholic Church to try to catch the activity for the
Salubong.
Our food is chicken barbecue, pork barbecue, chicken honey,
lumpiang shanghai and
longganiza--food that will take time before it becomes stale.
Went back home to pick-up the rest, stopped by
McDonald's along South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) for our breakfast, before proceeding to Cuyab. Dropped the group at Cuyab to buy
buko pie and
espasol for
pasalubong as well as our
meryenda.
Relaxing.
Black Saturday
Plan to buy
chichiria (translation: snacks) we would be bringing tomorrow for a swim. A good excuse to go the mall. LOL
Bought discounted movie tickets for
The Grand Budapest Hotel and
Heaven is for Real. A movie marathon!
Ate at
Phobac for an early lunch since my first movie would start at 12:30PM. Visited
Mary, Mother of Hope Chapel and bought medicines at
Mercury Drug.
A story within a story within a story within a story, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" is about the last concierge of said hotel before the war. It tells about the adventures and misadventures of M. Gustave H. when one of the hotel's rich loyal client was murdered. With him is the new lobby boy Moustafa. Treatment is different as brings you from one scene to the next. Nice!
After the first movie, have cupcake-fix of Espresso Belgian Cupcake at
Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. Also, tried
Skechers GoWalk2. Gotta have one!
Based on a true story of the Burpo family, whose son Colton, four-years old then, claimed to have visited heaven while in near death experience. This brought turmoil between Todd and his wife, Sonja, challenging them of what they really believe in. The child actor for Colton is effective, that you would not doubt he is telling the truth.
After the movie, looked for Skechers store. Found one with my size! Yey! Then, went to
The Landmark to buy the
chichiria before proceeding home.
Good Friday
The streets are much quieter. There are few cars, jeepneys on the street. Although, there are many bicycles, electric bicycles, and motorcycles going by... looking for street
senakulo they can watch. Wish I already know how to ride one.
There's one that passed near our house. Most probably their form of sacrifice given the heat and them wearing costumes to re-enact the passion and death of Jesus Christ.
Was told there is a passion play at our barangay hall tonight. Will try to catch it.
Maundy Thursday
First of the long weekend due to Lent. Our neighborhood is quiet... good. At least, in observance of Lent. I wonder if there will be a procession tonight.
Supposedly, there will be water interruption from today afternoon until Saturday morning. So, decided to learn how to balance using a pedal-less bicycle in the morning. It was only 30 minutes and I thought it is already an hour!!! So tiring...
Have completed several to-dos, including recording the apartment rentals and charging the battery of my underwater camera--in preparation for the swim we plan on Sunday.
Palm Sunday
It is Palm Sunday. It officially start the Holy Week.
Woke up early in time to see the procession, led by our parish priest, pass by our house. Took some photos.
Although I already attended the anticipated Mass, plan to take photos of the activities during Holy Week. Decided to go to
Don Bosco Parish Church to attend the Mass and have a
palaspas (translation: palm fronds) blessed. Already have
palaspas that has been blessed yesterday during the anticipated Mass placed at our front door, back door, and my room's window. Will put one at the office door. The sermon explained the purpose/ symbolism of the
palaspas, and where they are placed after it has been blessed.
After, went to
Waltermart to buy some groceries and lunch at
Pancake House. And instead of going home directly, decided to go to
Cartimar Shopping Center to buy the bicycle helmet I failed to purchase yesterday.
Upon reaching home, turned on the radio to root for Manny Pacquiao against his bout with Timothy Bradley. Congratulations, Pacman!
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
It's Palm Sunday tomorrow and would be attending the anticipated Mass. So passed by
Sta. Clara de Montefalco Church to buy
palaspas (translation: palm fronds). Since wanted to buy a bicycle helmet, went to
Cartimar Shopping Center. Was early so the store I am planning to buy one is still closed.
My movie is
Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America is living in Washington, D.C., trying to adjust to modern life. When S.H.I.E.L.D. is in attack from within, he has to enlist the help of the Black Widow and a new ally, the Falcon. But, they find themselves against a formidable enemy with a link to his past, the Winter Soldier. There's action, there's drama, and a story of what Captain America represents. Like.
After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass. Bought lens protector filters and AM/FM clock radio at
Infomax and dinner at
The Landmark's food court.
Haunt Bike
A holiday. And I made up may mind to buy me a normal bicycle. LOL
After trying out the eco-bike, I really need to know how to ride a bicycle before riding a battery-operated one that looks like a scooter. Weh!
So, went to
Cartimar Shopping Center which boasts of imported clothes, wet market, pet-related, plant-related, bicycle-related items at reasonable prices.
My script?
Alin po ang pinakamurang bicycle
nyo? (Translation: What is the cheapest bicycle in your store?) Hehehe!
Well, I did not get the cheapest among from the different stores, but it looks good and still within the budget I allotted.
Since they know I would be using it to learn how to drive one, advised me to learn balance without the pedals. Once I know how, I would attach the pedals and try again.
My niece was waiting for us and she wanted to see the bike. And she loved it!
Since I wanted to buy a plate with "Electric Bicycle" written on it, went to CD-R King's
Eco-Bike store at Quirino Avenue. Was advised to go to the J.P. Rizal branch. When we got there, they, too, no longer have a plate. But they will inform me once it is available.
Next stop is
Glorietta, where I have my lunch and movie. Bought a discounted movie ticket for
Haunt.
A horror film about a family who moved to the Morello House supposedly cursed as the father and three of their children died in suspicious circumstances, leaving the mother alone. May not give the biggest scare, at least it has a story. LOL
After the movie, bought a bicycle lock and wrench at
The Landmark before proceeding home.
California Eco-Bike Vista
It is our camera club's monthly meeting. It is a new venue... near
De La Salle University. As usual, left early because I would be picking-up my
eco-bike.
Supposed to pick it up around 5PM. But since I already got the call that the bike is ready, was at
CD-R King in
Victory Pasay Mall around 3:30PM.
The girl who made a downpayment and was supposed to have reserved for the red Vista was also there. She got the red Ventura, which also arrived today. There is an extra red Ventura which arrived at the store. Stuck to my guns and still chose the red Vista. :-)
The friendly staff of CD-R King showed us again how to operate the eco-bike. And one of them delivered the bike (since we don't know how to ride one) with Mhai hitching a ride.
Bought pizza and lasagna at
Greenwhich for our
meryenda before proceeding home. Tried the bike at home. I have a lot of learning to do. Weh! (Note: In the first place, I do not know how to ride a bicycle.)
Diary Ng Panget
Was excited to get my
eco-bike. What I forgot, they would call me if it is ready for pick-up. Since what I only recall is Saturday, so first thing, went to
Victory Mall to pick-up my eco-bike.
Oops... The red Ventura is still not repaired (due to flat tire) and learned that there was a hole in the rear light. They should have informed me when I went there Tuesday night so that they would have pulled out from the warehouse a new Ventura instead of waiting for the one in the store to be repaired.
Since we were already there, Mhai did the test drive using the blue Ventura. I like red for my car/ bike.
But really, have changed my mind to buy the Vista instead of the Ventura. Weh! Was able to convince them to give me the red Vista arriving tomorrow, which was being eyed by another customer who already made a downpayment. Anyway, she is not sure if she will be buying the (blue) Ventura or the (red) Vista.
Going to the store even I'm not supposed to has become a blessing.
After, walked our way to
Cartimar to buy a bicycle helmet. The eco-bike does not require a license nor a helmet. But it is best to be safe. Had a
meryenda before proceeding home.
Decided to watch
Diary ng Panget, the movie, and my niece was with me. First bought the movie tickets at a discount, have my entries printed at
Photoline, ate lunch at
Pancake House, contact lens for my niece at
EO Executive Optical, Genteal drops at
Mercury Drug, before the movie.
Everything is exaggerated, which makes it funny. I was really laughing at the end of the movie, specially because of the other moviegoers beside us who are screaming due to
kilig. LOL
After the movie, my niece went home while I attended the anticipated Mass. Had dinner at the food court of The Landmark.
Funny thing about the Mass, thought it was already Palm Sunday. Was worried that I don't have
palaspas with me. Then, I noticed no one who attended the mass has. It is not yet Palm Sunday!!!
