My movie weekend. But first, went to
Claudette's to buy a tray of Cloud 9 cake.
11-11-11 is a horror, thriller movie about an atheist author who travels to Barcelona to see his sick father. While there, his beliefs were challenged.
Using the idea of the
spirit guardians, the film is set on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month with the entity from another world entering the earthly realm through Heaven's 11th gate. These entities were supposed to be angels. But they look scary. Which was used for the twist in the film.
Come to think of it, during our bonding last Thursday with the
Tilak Hettige, since he invited us to his house for dinner, somehow we touched on the topic about angels. Sam mentioned that angels are not supposed to be the cute, chubby ones depicted on figurines and statues. Angels are magnificent beings--impressive figures who inspire awe.
After, had a late lunch at
Food Choices and looked for the book of Fr. Syquia (
Exorcism: Encounters with the Paranormal and the Occult). Affected by the movie? Hehehe!
Attended the anticipated Mass and dinner at
Shakey's.
Advanced Photography Workshop
Today, I would be conducting the advanced photography workshop for our office's camera club. Invited my friend to join and attend the workshop.
Morning will be spent on lecture and in the afternoon, there would be three models (Bea, Rheiza and Sharmaine). The attendees would be divided into three (3) groups and all would be given a chance to take images of the three models.
Brought two sets of studio lights to be used in the shoot. Did not bring my dSLR (just my Canon G10) because I am sure I would not be able to take photos of the models.
Finished around 5PM... Uh-oh! That means, I would not be able to attend the anticipated Mass. Still, went to
Glorietta to meet my friend and we had dinner at
Italianni's.
Framed Shots: Silya
Today is the first meeting for this year of my camera club. This month's theme is "Silya" (translation: chair). Finally, my friend, due to her work, is unable to attend the club's meetings, was able to.
After the meeting, was dropped off at Glorietta. My friend was interested to buy an
Otter Box for her iPhone 4S (she saw mine), so I accompanied her. She also bought one for her Nokia N8. We, then, parted ways for she still has to pack her bags.
Decided not to miss my movie weekend; thus, watched
The Woman In Black. A young widowed lawyer has to travel to a remote village to arrange the papers of an old property said to house a vengeful spirit, which terrorizes the village. He is given the last chance by his company to finish this task else he would be fired from his job.
Not the gore which is common in today's horror movies, the movie gives it share to scare. Since it is a period film, it helps build up the scare. The twist is in the end is kinda sweet.
Wedding
Today is a wedding of a friend and was invited to witness this special day.
Another friend, who is one of the secondary sponsors, requested that I pick her up. She was supposed to go to the hotel where the bride is for some picture-taking. (I was able to borrow my brothers car and asked
Manong to drive for me.)
Picked her up at
David's Salon with her husband-to-be, another friend and his wife. We then proceeded to
Eastwood Richmonde Hotel. The photographers hired to cover the event belongs to my camera club. Thus, it is nice to see them at work.
After the shoot, went ahead of the couple to the church. The reception is also in one of the multi-purpose halls of the church. Very convenient for their guests.

iPhone 4S
I prefer android. But frankly, I am curious about the iOS. Don't know what's the hype about
iPhone. Of course, aside from the "status symbol" it gives, what is being marketed is the "experience."
Since my
Smart account lock-in would end March, decided to upgrade my plan and avail of the retention plan. A weekend and no Smart business center at
Ayala Center, decided to go to
SM Mall of Asia (MOA).
(My original plan of bringing my car to
Ziebart for its annual rustproofing and diamond gloss went kaput. Thanks to the driver.)
Had lunch first at
El Pollo Loco before proceeding to the Smart business center. Good timing, too. There were only a few clients on queue. After I came, people trickled in.
I was hoping to get the 64GB version, but it is not available. Thus, have to make do with the 16GB. I was also expecting to shell out PhP12,500.00 with this unit. Because of the retention plan, I only have to pay PhP2,000.00
Then, tried to look for
Charms and Crystals to have my bracelet repaired. Uh-oh! They no longer have a branch at MOA.
Took a taxi to
Glorietta for I plan to buy an
Otter Box for my new iPhone 4S.
Then, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Gerry's Grill.
