Novel Coronavirus

Hair pampering day.

Today, my niece’s dog Theo will be neutered.  They say if the dog is neutered, he/ she will be more docile.  Yesterday, Theo’s hair was already cut in preparation for today.

Already left (with my face mask on) before my niece and her dog left as my appointment is 10AM.  I am already late.  Took a taxi where I gave the driver a packet of face masks.

After having my hair done, went to The Landmark Food Center for my late lunch.  Used the (last) coupon I earned for using my BPI credit card.  I though, it would just be a choice of one piece chicken meal or hotdog sandwich like my other coupons.  Surprise!  It is a choice of two piece chicken meal or chicken and spaghetti meal.  There is already a peach mango pie.  Yes!

Was planning to buy big bottle of alcohol with spray (instructed my “angels” to spray the door knob or any item delivered to us), small bottle of alcohol with spray and face masks.

Was able to buy the big bottle of alcohol with spray at The Landmark Supermarket.  Bought three. Went to Mercury Drug to buy face masks.  It is no longer available.  Went to Rustans Supermarket to look for small bottle of alcohol with spray—none.  Proceeded to SM Makati for the two remaining items.  Went to Watsons and SM Makati Supermarket.  Both items not available.

Then, a light bulb!  Will buy a small bottle spray and fill it with alcohol instead.  Went to beabi for this.  I wanted to have a small bottle of alcohol with me anytime with the threat of coronavirus.  Then, had brown sugar milk tea at Tiger Sugar.

Stopped at Food Choices to sit and call Shakey’s to have food delivered at home.

Last attempt for the face mask, went back to The Landmark to check if it is available in Mercury Drug there.  Nope.  Not available.

Noticed that there are more people wearing face masks.  There are Filipinos also wearing them.  Still, there are more Chinese wearing one.

Took a taxi home.

Air Quality Monitor

Decided to take my air quality monitor device through its paces while doing my usual walk.

Started at Ayala North Exchange Towers where the air quality (AQI) is “unqualified” per my device.  It means, it is neither “fresh” or “polluted”.  I guess we can call it “average”.

Walked to Greenbelt 5 via Dela Rosa elevated walkway (as I was thinking of having my lunch at Bistro Ravioli).  All throughout my walk, I was already wearing a face mask—not because of Taal’s ash fall but in order to (hopefully) prevent contracting the novel coronavirus.  I also have my hand sanitizer in my pant’s pocket—the faster to use it.  The reading?  Average.

Went to Greenbelt 1 where Bistro Ravioli is.  Air quality is average.  Stopped first my air quality monitoring by having my lunch of spinach feta cheese ravioli.  Burp!

Walked back to Glorietta.  Greenbelt walkway says air quality is fresh.

Reached The Landmark whose air quality is fresh.  Went to the store’s Bayad Center to pay the water and the electric bill.  The Landmark’s food center air quality is average.

Went to Glorietta whose air quality is fresh.  Proceeded to Mercury Drug where I bought (surgical) face masks.  A lot of people were buying the masks—mostly foreigners.  What I noticed during my mall stroll, those who are in face masks are mostly Chinese.  Do they know something which we (Filipinos) don’t know?

Done with my air quality monitoring (hehehe!) since my device’s battery is getting low.  Had brown sugar milk tea at Serenitea.  Went to True Value who is still on sale.  They have items which you can only find in True Value.

Attended the anticipated Mass at Mary Mother of Hope Chapel, we had dinner at Phobac.  Again, I wanted milk tea for dessert.  This time it is Tiger Sugar.  Bought groceries at The Landmark Supermarket before proceeding home.  Was hoping to buy a small bottle of alcohol with spray; but, it is not available.

N95 mask

Will not be watching a movie.  Plan to look for an N95 mask (this was recommended by the Department of Health) because of the event last Sunday, that is, Taal volcano spewed ashes.  The ash fall (though light compared to the places near the volcano) reached my condo.  We did not even turn on the air-conditioner that night.

Purchase of face masks (even surgical masks) are flying off the shelves that it is hard to purchase one.

Walked my way to Ayala Center via the Dela Rosa elevated walkway, stopping at Tito Pak’s for lunch.

Went to Ace Hardware at Greenbelt 1 via Greenbelt 5.  On the way, stopped at Typo where I bought pouches for my ionbox and ionfan I bought in Amazon—wanted them properly arranged in my bag when I bring them.  Been being paranoid about EMF lately that I have been purchasing items in Amazon to block EMF.  Also bought a device that will monitor air quality (because of the ashfall)—still to arrive.  Back to my planned purchase, the N95 is not available in Ace Hardware.

Went to Mercury Drug at Glorietta 3 where I was able to buy surgical masks.  According to DOH, if you do not have N95, you can use surgical masks but put two sheets of tissue as additional filter.

Next stop is at True Value in Glorietta 1.  The store is on sale!  N95 mask is also not available; but, was able to buy a shoe tree.  I am going to use it in my recently bought Dr. Kong (office) shoes.

Went to Ace Hardware in SM Makati.  N95 is also out of stock.

Proceeded to the hardware section of The Landmark.  N95 mask is also not available.  Bought a super glue instead.  Hehehe!

Left my purchases at the store’s package counter and went to Mary Mother of Hope Chapel for the anticipated Mass.  We had dinner at Food Choices in Glorietta 4.  Bought groceries at The Landmark Supermarket before proceeding home, stopping by Pet Express (for the dogs’ treat), SM Hypermart (for liquid/ hand soap), Petron (to gas up my Honda HR-V to enjoy the PhP2.00 off per liter).

Popeyes

While going home last night, saw Popeyes, a new fast-food joint, with lots of customers queueing.  Note to self:  try it.

And so I did today.  Even on a weekend, there were lots of customers.  Since the place is small, decided to have it to-go.  But since it takes a loooooonnnng time (not sure if it is almost an hour) for my order to come out, I was able to get a vacant table.  Biscuit (with honey) is OK and so is the fries.  For the chicken, not that special.  Although the gravy is better than McDonald's or Jollibee.

Walked to Alishan @ The Alley and bought milk tea.  On the way to Ayala Center, I finished my milk tea.

First store is The Landmark which is on sale.  Bought a Seiko Riviera leather coin purse at 50% off.

Went to Mercury Drug where I bought Orocare.

Window-shopped before the anticipated Mass I would be attending.  Because of the very late lunch, I am not able to watch a movie.

Attended the anticipated Mass at Mary Mother of Hope Chapel in The Landmark, supper at faremery in Food Choices. bought J-hook at Ace Hardware in SM Makati, and groceries at The Landmark Supermarket.

Choke

My pet Tsubasa choked with his food. He suddenly felt limp. While carrying him, I can hear him crying...

Thanks to the fast thinking of my “angel”, she cut the liter bottle of Coke and used it to blow air into Tsubasa’s mouth. Until she was able to get the food blocking my dog’s mouth.

First Mall Day Of The Year

Walked my way to Ayala Center via Dela Rosa elevated walkway.  But stopped first at Tito Pak's for my lunch.

The mall (and the department store's) linked to it are on SALE!!!

Yesterday, before going straight home, passed by Glorietta 5 to bring my backpack at Pacsafe Flagship Store to have it repaired.  Today, I am using my Pacsafe convertible crossbody bag.  But considering my knick knacks, feel sorry for my bag.  So decided to look around.

Went to Urbanize at Glorietta 3.  They carry Pacsafe and other brands.  Was planning to have another backpack while my other one is being repaired.  My criteria: anti-theft, external pocket for umbrella/ water bottle, lightweight.  The other small to medium-sized Packsafe backpacks do not have external pocket except for the backpack similar to my niece's.  Nope.  Will have to look for another.

At Glorietta 4 Cinemas, checked what movies to watch.  I was late for 20 minutes for the movie I wanted to watch.  No movie this weekend.

Had my milk tea fix at Serenitea (since I changed bags, I forgot to bring the voucher given to me by my niece).

The Landmark, True Value, and SM Makati is on sale (aside from some stores at Glorietta mall).  Went back to The Landmark where I was able to buy a Travelon backpack at 20% off.  Went to the mall's food center to swap my bags.  Then I have my old bag with some of my purchases left in the package counter.  Hehe!

The permanent content of my bags (whether it is being used or in storage) is my emergency fund, rosary, ballpen and umbrella.  Already put in the emergency money and rosary in my new backpack.  Went to National Bookstore to buy a Parker ballpen with my name engraved on it.  Bought small automatic umbrella at Esprit (the backpack only has one external pocket which I will be using for my water bottle; thus, the umbrella has to be small).

Attended the anticipated Mass at Mary Mother of Hope Chapel in The Landmark.  We had dinner at Phobac.  Bought groceries at The Landmark Supermarket before proceeding home, after passing by Petron to have my Honda HR-V filled-up with gas since it is PhP2.00 off per liter on weekends.
