Horsemen Ondoy
Typhoon Ondoy would be making a landfall. Did not think much of it but proceeded to the mall for my usual movie/s...
It was
Horsemen, a drama, mystery, thriller movie, about a cop who has become distant from his family after his wife died. In the current case, unknown to him, the suspects in the case have a link to him. Well, I was able to guess who he white horsemen, from the biblical prophesy of the four horseman of the apocalypse, is. Don't know, but did shed a tear.
We were supposed to do a shoot with the
Harvey Tapan. Received an SMS that he had a car accident last night at South Superhighway. His car is a total wreck. Good thing he is OK now as he is resting at home.
Also received an SMS from home to buy candles. The flood on the street is knee deep, and the flood waters already entered our house almost half-knee. Oh, no!
Since my nephew and Manong, the driver, is in Glorietta, will go home with them. Was able to finish the Mass before proceeding home.
Left
Glorietta around 6PM. There was heavy traffic! In fact, when we were almost near home, we learned that the flood is almost waist-deep. Decided to look for a hotel to sty the night. All the hotels are fully-booked. Since it took some time looking for a hotel, we thought (hoped) that the water would have subsided. It did--almost above half the SUV's tires. We were able to reach home around 1AM. There's no water in front of our house; but, there were no lights/electricity.
Hamilo Coast Exhibit
Today is the opening of our company's camera club's Hamilo Coast Exhibit.
But first, had lunch with my friend at our usual
The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH). She also saw our exhibit even if it is not yet formally opened.
Harvey Tapan
The club went to
Hamilo Coast at Nasugbu, Batangas. As agreed with Hamilo, we would feature them in one of our exhibits. Noted travel photographer,
Mr. Harvey Tapan, has nicely agreed to judge the images we have posted in our club's multiply site. He also graced the opening of our exhibit. Believe me, the girls were swooning. Hehehe!
Since he is planning a shoot on Sunday, he invited us to join him, which most have willingly signed-up. We were supposed to meet at Jollibee-Boni by 6am.
Filipiniana Studio Shoot
Third Saturday of every month is our company's camera club. Our activity is a studio shoot with models wearing Filipiniana dress. This is in preparation for our next month's photo contest.
It is a whole day activity, with photographers grouped into four (4) batches. Each batch would have two (2) hours in the studio, and each photographer is given ten (10) minutes to direct and shoot the model/s. Only on the third batch, already seeing double whenever the strobe flashes. Yikes!
Kimmy Dora
Only on its second week, but still, there were lots of viewers.
Kimmy Dora is romance, comedy film starring Eugene Domingo. Eugene definitely has talent, and she proved it here in her movie, her first as a leading actress.
Obviously, as expected of Filipino comedy films, the ending part would have a song-and-dance number, which the movie followed the same route.
From start to finish, you can't but hear (natural) laughter from the audience, and to think, the movie don't have to resort to slapstick.
After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Italianni's.
Play, Play
Will meet someone at
SM Megamall to turn-over my Canon 350D to be converted to IR. It is where I eat lunch when I am in our Ortigas office.
There were NBA players (led by Kareem Abdul Jabbar) in the mall for a "greet and meet" event. Was watching the activity while waiting for Lehboy of
Filters Exchange who would be doing the conversion.
Hopefully, my baby (Canon 350D) will be returned to me end of September or first week of October...
PCCI: Conceptual Still Life (Refresher), Day 2
Today, we would be bringing our props. But around lunch, I would skip the seminar to submit my Filipiniana images for our camera club's montly photo competition.
This is my cowboy.
Another shot of my cowboy using a strobe and the strobe accessory I bought from
Echo Store.

7 September 2009, Monday
A holiday and just stayed at home for a welcome rest. Inspite of it, accomplished a lot.
1) Completed the certificates to be awarded to our office's camera club monthly photo competition.
2) I was able to arrange the conversion of my Canon 350D to infrared.
3) Learned that two of my images won in my other camera club's photo competition. Got me the 8th and 12th place. Yes!!! c",)
PCCI: Conceptual Still Life (Refresher), Day 1
Decided to take a refresher course of the
Conceptual Still Life by the
Mark Floro at the
Philippine Center for Creative Imaging (PCCI).
Started with the meaning of "Still Life", then "Conceptual Still Life". This is a groundwork for our two-day workshop.
This is still life.
This should be conceptual still life for I used balls of magnets and fake ice cube. Unfortunately, it looks like a real bracelet, it came across as a product photography.
This is my Don Quixote with his windwill. Now, I am getting there... slowly. c",)
EchoStore
Yes!!! Received the items I bought from
EchoStore... Now, I have a macro focusing rail, speedlight prokit pro set (to try my hand at strobist), and a KPS magnifying eyepiece and extender set for my Canon 350D (so I can "magnify" my viewfinder--don't ask why I need it... hehehe!)
