Home
Will have to bring
palaspas for the anticipated Mass. But first, had my new air-con mounted (my old one needs replacement and the new one was delivered yesterday). Passed by
Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish where I bought
palaspas to bring to
Glorietta for the anticipated Mass later.
Was dropped off at Glorietta. Went to the several branches of
Mercury Drug in the mall looking for Zyme E-400. It's out of stock. Then bought a discounted movie ticket for
Home.
But first, had lunch at
Bistro Ravioli before my movie.
Evading the Gorg, the Boov reaches Earth. The Boov, then, puts all humans in one place as they occupy the rest of Earth. Oh meets Tip, both misfits, as they team up to look for Tip's mom. Cute.
After the movie, just window-shopped while waiting for the anticipated Mass. Good excuse to walk and try to meet my 10,000 steps goal.
After the anticipated Mass, had dinner at
Luk Yuen.

Our first Church is the
National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo, where we would also be attending the Mass.
"In 1578, the Franciscans prepared Antipolo to be our Lady's Shrine with the missionaries' teaching of Catholic faith. On March 25, 1626, on the Feast of the Annunciation, the galleon Almirante arrived with Gov. Gen. Juan Nino de Tabor who brought with him a dark image of the Virgin from Acapulco, Mexico. Don Juan died in 1632 and in his will entrusted the care of the image to the Jesuits.
"It was said that the image disappeared twice from her altar and was found on the branches of a tipulo tree. The Jesuits then ordered a church built in the vicinity of the tree and the trunk was used to carve the pedestal for her.
"The statue travelled the Pacific Ocean several times as patroness of the galleon trade. Hence, on September 8, 1823, Manila Archbishop Miguel Poblete conferred on the Virgin of Antipolo the title of Nuestra Senora de la Paz y Buen Viaje.
"The Church was declared a National Shrine of the Philippines on January 14, 1954 dedicated to the Virgin Queen of Peach and Good Voyage."

Before proceeding to the rest of the Churches, we had breakfast at
Gloria's Bahay Handaan.

Our next stop is the
Regina RICA at Tanay. This is where we had our recollection as well as vegetarian lunch.
"The Regina Rosarii Institue for Contemplation in Asia (RICA) is the response of the founding community to continue the ministry of bringing healing, hope and hospitality to all those who look up to our Lady.
"The Dominican Sisters of the Regina Rosarii, is a community of consecrated women called to be Salt of the Earth. They were former members of the Dominican Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary fo the Philippines who continued the apostolate in Tanay. They conduct retreats, recollections and seminars. Accompaniment in Contemplative Prayer and Devotion to Regina Rosarii; broadcast ministry through radio and cellphone; and Socio-pastoral services."

Next is the
St. Mary Magdelene in Pililla.
"The first missionary priest arrived in 1572 and named the place Pilang-Morong, being a 'visita' or barrio of Morong town. In 1583, the place gained its independence, thus a new name Pililla, which means small Pila, to distinguish it from Pila, Laguna.
"The first stone church was completed in 1673 and was dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. The church underwent renovation since its establishment, including its main altar in 2004, bringing back the grandiose by mingling both and new architectural designs."

Our next Church is
San Ildefonso de Toledo in Tanay.
"Monte Tan-ay separated from Pililla in 1606 and was made an independent parish. San Ildefonso de Toledo was chosen as the patron saint with Fray Pedro de Tavera as first parish priest.
"The original San Ildenfonso Church was built more than four centuries ago but was relocated three times. The structure today is much bigger and was completed in 1783.
"The church houses the 1st class relic of a small bone of San Ildefonso given to Rev. Fr. Felipe Pedraja on October 2006.
"In front of the church, is a 13-foot tall sculpture of the Virgin Mary appearing before San Ildefonso de Toledo. It used to be a lifeless acacia tree and one of the two trees said to have been planted by a Franciscan priest on the churchyard.
"The 14 Stations of the Cross inside the church is considered to be one of the most beautiful Stations of the Cross in all of Asia. It is believed to be the work of a native artist of Tanay.
"The Church was declared as one of the five Jubilee Churches in the Diocese of Antipolo in 1999. On July 31, 2001 the church was declared a National Culture Treasure by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts along with 25 other churches in the Philippines."

Next stop is
St. Joseph in Baras. We were not able to go near the altar as wedding is ongoing. But we were able to pray the Stations/s of the Cross.
"The parish of Baras was founded in 1595 by the Franciscan Missionaries on the present site of Bosoboso. It was then called Santiago, after the patron St. James the Apostle until such time that it became Baras. The present church was completed in 1686 and solemnly dedicated under a new patron saint, St. Joseph, The Patriarch.
"The parish of Baras was fondly called the Darling of the Archbishop of Manila because there was a time when all the parishes in Eastern Rizal were given to the Columban missionaries except Baras, which remained under the administration of the secular clergy."

Our last Church is
St. Jerome in Morong.
"Christianization of Morong by two Franciscans, Fr. Juan de Placencia and Fr. Diego Oropesa, dates back in 1578. They built small chapels in the sitios attached to bigger settlement called Pueblo de Morong, which was later made the capital.
"The stone and mortar church was built in 1615 through forced labor and under the direction of Chinese master craftsmen as evidenced by the Chinese lion sculptures at the entrance to the steep driveway. The three-storey facade was built from 1850-1853 to support the new belfry."

On our way back to Makati, Green Faith Travels gave the pilgrims a rosary bracelet with Benedictine Cross. Also received a sleeping St. Joseph. Yes! This is the one mentioned by Pope Francis when he visited us in the Philippines. And for the trivia, I won an image of Our Lady of Antipolo. Thanks!
G.A.
It is our office's camera club first general assembly (G.A.) for the year... and I would be the speaker for "Smartphone Photography". Weh! The talk is usually part of the activity to encourage members to attend the meeting.
Since the G.A. would also honor the top photographers of last year, was pushing that there will be a simple meal to share. Previous members served as sponsor. Already ordered last night for
pancit malabon and
pichi-pichi from
Amber's to be delivered to the office today. Somebody was tasked to buy bread, soda, paper plate, plastic spoon and cup. Advised that the size of the paper plate is that of a saucer. It limits the food to take but makes their plate to look "full". Hehe! Anyway, if they want more, they can keep coming back; but at least, for the first round, everyone would be able to get something.
There's a short break after the welcome remarks, prayer and my talk. Then, a discussion of the club's mechanics, awarding of the Photographer of the Year and Guest Photographer of the Year, and the election. Even the structure of the club was changed. Only the President was elected. And the members are asked to choose which committee they would be joining. Within themselves, assign a chairman.
After the G.A., walked my way to
Ayala Center for my 10,000 steps. It took me 2,000 steps. Bought 3W LED light bulbs at
True Value to keep in stock. Store is on sale that I got the item at 20% off. Just window-shopped while waiting for the anticipated Mass. Oh! Got first the blue
Asus X102BA at
SM Appliance Store. Good buy for students as it already included Windows 8 and Microsoft Office. The item is on sale and got another 8% discount for it and a freebie.
After the anticipated Mass, we had dinner at
Bistro Ravioli. Bought first a case for the netbook before proceeding home.
Sleep, Lazarus
It is our camera club's monthly meeting. Would just drop by
Fort Santiago (venue of the meeting) to submit my entry for photo theme "Sleep".
Next stop is
SM Mall of Asia. Since I cannot find a wooden rosary bracelet that would pass my taste (LOL) and the Benedictine Cross, would go to
St. Paul's in said mall. I have Edgar's son, Luis, with me when I went to St. Paul's (instead of him staying in the car). Promised also an ice cream for him. Will have to clean him up after as the ice cream is dripping.
Then, was dropped off at
Glorietta. Immediately bought a discounted ticket for
The Lazarus Effect. Had
merienda at
Food Choices before my movie.
A group of researchers discovered a way of bringing back to life the dead. But there is a serious side effect that the researchers have not counted on. Supposedly horror, did not give me the creeps.
After, looked for a thumb drive that you can prevent writing to it--this is to prevent viruses affecting the thumb drive when it is used in another computer. Can't find one. Opted for a portable card reader that can read if the SD card mounted on it is "locked". Thought the one I bought at
CD-R King does that--it doesn't.

Have the rosary bracelets with Benedictine Cross blessed. Good thing, too, as I arrive home,
kuya was there. So gave him one.
The stainless steel is mine. LOL
Progressive Web Lens
Called yesterday my eye doctor and was advised that I can already pick-up the progressive (web) lens I have made. Finally, it was perfect! Of course, had lunch first at
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf before proceeding to
Abesamis Eye Care Clinic. My lunch is free because used the points I earned with my Swirl card.
Even if I am a Canon user, I now own a Nikon lens (for my progressive eyeglasses)! LOL
For my 10,000 steps, decided to walk my way to
Glorietta. Noticed that my pedometer keeps on resetting. I already had 500+ steps then it was reset to 0. Then around 2,500 steps then it again resets to 0. I guess I need to change the battery. Good thing that
General Photo where I will have my photo entries for "Sleep" printed have a CR2032 round cell battery.
Because of the new rules, my photo entries should be taken within the year. So, last night, have my "models", Mary and Dodong, pose for me. Hehehe! Hope it does not really look like its posed.
Decided to look for wooden rosary bracelet and
Benedictine Cross (I'll attach the Benedictine Cross to the wooden rosary bracelet). My
Kuya has been having nightmares and he is asking if I have a blessed one available. Until I get one and have it blessed, advised that he leaves the Bible open in his bedroom, putting a rosary on top of it to prevent the pages from closing. There is a special blessing to "activate" the Benedictine Cross.
That's the problem of having a second wife whose mother has a
mangkukulam as a friend. There are even attempts on me thru
barang. Thanks to my angel who keeps watch over me, add to that my
Nanay and
Tatay. The devil wants us to believe that he does not exist.
Found a stainless rosary bracelet whose beads are the Benedictine Cross at
Guadalupe. Hmmm... I think this is for me so that I do not need to remove it and I can have it wet. Hehe! Will have the wooden rosary bracelet plus Benedictine Cross in my to do list.
Attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Kaya.
