Visita Iglesia 2024
Maundy Thursday. This is the day we always do our Visita Iglesia. With Lyn, Edgar the driver, and Theo the dog, left the condo around 6AM to start our visit to seven (7) churches praying the Stations of the Cross.
First stop is at the Manila Cathedral (Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception of Manila) where the Chrism Mass and the renewal of priestly vows is ongoing.
We then walked to the
San Agustin Church.
And of course, not to forget, a mini-pictorial with Theo the dog before leaving
Intramuros.
Our third church is the
Malate Catholic Church. We will be going back later to this area to buy our to-go meal at
The Aristocrat.
The fourth stop is at the
Archdiocesan Shrine of Jesus, The Way, The Truth and The Life. This is where we prayed the 7th and 8th Stations of the Cross.
The fifth is the
Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.
Our sixth church is the
Sta. Clara de Montefalco Parish.
The first six churches are the usual churches we visit for the Visita Iglesia. The seventh and last church is the new one in our itinerary. Nothing special from the outside but so impressed when I went inside, especially the altar. The church is San Isidro Labrador Parish.
Before going home, we went back to Malate to buy our to-go food at The Aristocrat.

Blabbering...
Because of COVID-19, a lot has changed. For me, I think it is for the better.
At the start of the pandemic, since we are unsure on how to handle the situation, there were lockdowns, limit on people going out, working from home, etc. Because of this, it seems we have a lot of time in our hands. This is when I took to the internet. Browsing, surfing, watching, streaming...
Then I came across the following YouTube channels:
Jose Gonzalo Ditching, Faith Seeking Understanding
Bro. Wendell Talibong--Pananampalataya At Katuwiran
Rev. Fr. Darwin Gitgano--Punto Por Punto
I also became a Punto Por Punto Supporter, leading online prayers in Latin, English and Tagalog.
Eventually, there are other YouTube channels I follow related to spiritual warfare, crimes, dogs... 😁
Before, my weekend would consist of watching a movie (which I give a review, if you would call that as one), attending the anticipated Mass, trying out new restaurants.
But now, grocery every other weekend, Saturday Mass during grocery day, attend anticipated Mass, observe first Saturday devotion (even first Friday devotion as we are blessed that our company ensures there is Mass every Friday). Sounds boring? It's not. I feel contented.
You can check my posts in X (formerly Twitter) Bible readings for the day. Or the daily video on my YouTube channel on the Liturgy of Hours (or Divine Office) Invitatory and Lauds for 6AM, and Compline for 9PM.
I try to practice CARES. (C)onfession, (A)doration, (R)osary, (E)ucharist, (S)acramentals.
Then, a thought would pop in my head. What if I have not stumbled on this and I died? I don't want to imagine where I would be going...
God is good and merciful. He does not want to lose any of His flock. He is very patient to us sinners. 🙏
