Gradual Implementation of the New English Translation of The Roman Missal
"It has been decided that the new English translation of the
The Roman Missal will be gradually implemented in the Church in the Philippines. As the lay faithful 'notice the changes, they are catechized on their meaning and significance.'
"In a letter written by Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle, he explains, 'The experience of other dioceses teaches us that it will be more beneficial if the program of catechesis occurs with a gradual implementation of the new English transalation.'
"The proposed Program of Gradual Implementation of the different parts pertaining to the participation of the assembly is as follows:
"June -- And with your spirit (Greeting, Gospel, Preface, Final Blessing)
July -- I confess
August -- Gloria
September -- Nicene/ Apostle's Creed
October -- Pray Brethren, Memorial Acclamation
November -- Invitation to Communion (Lord, I am not worthy)
December -- full implementation"
Avant Garde Portraiture
First stop is the
MOA Sports Arena. It is the kick-off of our company's sports festival. Dropped by to pick-up the shirt and the snacks.
Then, went to
PBSP at
Intramuros to attend the workshop arranged by my camera club. Speaker is Ms.
Noreen Conceja for the Avant Garde Portraiture. Since there is no photo shoot, it is more on photo editing.
Wedding
D-day for a friend. Went with her to Bacolod and San Carlos to join in her pre-nuptial shoot with her official wedding photographer. Also had a separate pre-nuptial shoot at
The Blue Leaf, the venue of her reception.
As per request of the bride, we're in formal clothes wearing sneakers. LOL
The wedding is to start at 2PM but already at the venue around 1:30PM--to give time to take photos. Reception follows at the The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion.
Stag-Shower Party
While mounting the photos for the "exhibit" in her wedding's reception last Saturday, you know she is feeling bad for herself. Her husband-to-be already have two stag party given by his friends. Still no shower party for her on sight.
She has more men friends than women; thus, it is hard to come up with a shower party.
Thus, we decided to give her a surprise stag-shower party. Hehehe!
One of us invited her for dinner. Then she will come up with a story of dropping by
Centerstage Family KTV to leave some documents to her client before proceeding to their dinner date. The rest of the group is already at Centerstage. Boy! Was she surprised.
And that made her day... Hehehe!
Since it is also a shower, gave her edible undies from
Kink Cakes as a shower gift.
Healing Shoot
Our office's camera club was requested to take photos of the candidates for the company's Mr. & Ms. I am one of the photographers assigned to do the shoot. Actually... not really. Acted as consultant and assistant. LOL
Supposedly the shoot should last around lunch time, but because of the number, we finished around 2PM. Even when hungry, everyone (both photographers and models) enjoyed the shoot.
Had lunch at
Chic-Boy and went back to the office. Mounted the photos that would be "exhibited" in the reception of our friend who is going to get married this Saturday.
Supposed to attend the Healing Mass celebrated by Fr. Suarez. Was late. But we finished the Mass.
Had a late dinner at
Shakey's.
Prometheus
Philippine Independence Day. A holiday and I get to watch the movie I was not able to last Saturday.
Prometheus is the name of the spaceship used by the scientists in their hope to discover the origin of man. But contrary to what they expect, they come in contact that would destroy the earth. As Dr. Shaw (or was it David?) said, in order to create something, you have to destroy something. The movie is grandiose, with its visuals and effects. It also gave a glimpse of where the alien of the movie "Alien" came from.
Bought a
Native Union's Moshi Moshi Pop Phone. The
Coco Phone I bought earlier seems to work well only with iPhones.
June Celebrants
Today, I would be treating the June birthday celebrants--my Nana, Jofel and Winston. Tita Leony is not available today. Today is also Manny Pacquiao's fight.
Our usual venue is the
SM Mall of Asia. Our party is late and considering that when Pacquiao's fight finishes, a lot of people would be streaming out of the cinema to eat, it would be hard for us get a seat. Thus, proceeded to
Super Bowl and just informed the rest of the group to proceed there.
After our hearty lunch, to top the day, treated them for a movie--
Men in Black 3 in 3D.
Corpus Christi
Wanted to watch
Prometheus, who got good reviews from
Rotten Tomatoes. But doing so, I would not be able to attend the anticipated Mass. Thus, made my choice.
Spent the time window-shopping while waiting for the start of the Mass.
Tomorrow is the start of the Corpus Christi and starting tomorrow, the Mass would follow the Roman Missal. The change in the responses would be gradual until a full Mass would be celebrated by December.
For this month, the change is the response to "The Lord is with you". Instead of "and also with you", the new response would be "and with your spirit".
After the anticipated Mass, had dinner at
The New Bombay.
Yesterday is my Nanay's birthday, thus, have Mass for her at our office's chapel--morning, lunch and afternoon. Attended the Mass celebrated around lunch time. While waiting for the Mass to start (after the novena), smelled of candle and felt a cold air pass by. Even commented, "Ano ba yan? Amoy kandila." (Translation: What's that? It smells of candle.) Then when the Mass started, I recalled it is for my Nanay. Poof! Now, I know why there's the smell of candle...

Aside from the judging, there is a shot talk about filters and landscape photography.
After the meeting, I was dropped off at
Glorietta.
Another Snow White
My movie weekend is
Snow White and the Huntsman.
The movie gives another twist to the story of an epic fairy tale Snow White. And love the twist!
After, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Italianni's.
