A holiday and already made an appointment to my dentist. Dr. Jay Catipon would be putting the crown in one of my tooth that cracked. Now, felt like royalty because I got crown-ed. Weh!
Already dressed, decided to go to Glorietta. Has no plans of watching a movie, but eventually gave in to She's Dating The Gangster. Bought a discounted movie ticket before having my lunch of Spinach and Feta Cheese Ravioli at Bistro Ravioli.
Still have time for my movie, decided to look for a battery for my niece's Canon 550D. She always loses power when covering an event. This happened when we covered a baptism last Sunday. Was able to buy one at CameraHaus. She's not the only one that encountered low battery. My stock of eneloop also gave way--thanks to me for not charging! LOL Now that am charging, can't believe it takes long to charge them--even my charger is supposedly a quick charger.
Back to my movie. Due to twist of fate, Athena Dizon (Kathryn Bernardo) finds herself forced to act as the girlfriend of the school's heartthrob, Kenji de los Reyes (Daniel Padilla). The two actors have chemistry and acts naturally. Romance, comedy and have scenes that will tug your heart.
After the movie, bought medicine at Mercury Drug, another eneloop charger (on sale) at True Value, screen protector for MyPhone Rio, doughnuts to go at Krispy Kreme, before proceeding home.
My niece and her friend will be covering a baptism of two (2) siblings today. Included in the package is the same-day-edit (SDE) video. The contact is through me. Weh! Obviously, have to be with them.
It's my Tatay's death anniversary. Already had three (3) masses for him yesterday, and one (1) today wherein I will be attending.
But first, did a solo photo walk using my Instax camera along Ayala Avenue.
Had a quick lunch at Food Choices. And since there is no movie I wanted to see, it would be window-shopping for me. Although bought miscellaneous items like candle holder (in preparation for the rotating brown-out next year), plastic envelope, wrist band.
Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at Kaya.
Already made an appointment to my dentist because my tooth cracked when I ate the Ferrero Rocher which my cousin based in the U.S. gave as pasalubong. Thus, would not be reporting for work.
Was early at the Catipon Dental Clinic. The lovely tandem of husband and wife team Dr. Jay and Dr. Mel Catipon make their patients at ease, no wonder their clinic is a bee hive. Aside from the upper right tooth, my upper left wisdom tooth also cracked days ago. A crown for my right tooth (that is why I will be going again to the clinic next week) and extraction for my left tooth. My wisdom tooth gave a good fight! LOL
After, passed by Walter Mart to buy oatmeal and passbook case (to replace the National Bookstore plastic bag my bank passbook is kept) before proceeding home.
The photography workshop arranged by our company's camera club did not push thru. Thus, a movie marathon instead.
Since was at the mall before it opens, went first to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to wait. As soon as it opens, went to the ticket counter of the cinema. It opens at 11AM. Strolled around, went to National Bookstore for a plastic wallet, Mercury Drug for water and back to the ticket counter. It would be a horror movie marathon for me as a I bought discounted movie tickets for 3AM Part 1 and Graves.
Had a quick lunch at Food Choices before my first movie.
A Thai horror film consisting of three (3) stories: The Wig, Corpse Bride, and O.T. Can be compared to Philippines' Shake, Rattle and Roll movies often shown during the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
My second film is horror, with a slant on science unlike my first film which is of the supernatural/ preternatural. A man wakes up in a pit full of dead bodies with no memory. As the film progresses, slowly, he can remember images and his memory.
After the movies, attended the anticipated Mass, had dinner at Bistro Ravioli, picked-up the Manfrotto tripod I ordered at Infomax, before proceeding home.
Woke up with no power. The night before, there was already an eery feeling that something will happen. The warning about Typhoon Glenda has everyone safely tucked in their homes. Normally, even late at night or in the wee hours of the morning, our street is still busy; but not last night.
It is OK that they cut off the power to prevent fire when the typhoon passes by. The same thing they did for Typhoon Milenyo.
At around 7AM, you can already hear the howling wind. Was scared that our roof might be flown off as I can hear the windows and the roof banging. So stayed downstairs.
Then it actually happened! The whole roof of our neighbor's house fell at the back of our house. Good thing no one was standing on the spot or it will be a catastrophe.
The dogs were actually confused as we are all downstairs and we can't seem to stand still.
The impact of the typhoon seem to finish around 10:30AM. Then, there was a knock on our gate. It is our neighbor asking for their roof back. Weh!

Attended a seminar yesterday at Makati Shangri-la. It is only today I reported to the office. Saw a portion of our building being repaired because of Typhoon Glenda. Can't help but take a photo.
Scheduled for my annual physical exam. Have to be at Makati Medical Center by 7:30AM. Was already there at 7AM. It is hard to hold eating and drinking until the extraction.
I have a checklist but have to forego some of the tests--like the sonomammography as I already took mine last last week.
Since I was early (plus have to defer some of the tests), was able to finish my tests early. So, decided to relax at the mall.
Checked first the movies being shown. Decided to do a movie marathon. Bought discounted movie tickets for Begin Again and When The Lights Went Out.
An accidental meeting between a broken-hearted songwriter and disgraced record executive find music to be their salvation. I like the way the film showed different perspectives of this "meeting". And the movie comes more alive when the actors are singing, collaborating to come up with beautiful music.
My next movie is a horror, thriller based on a true story. A family moved to their new house, unknown to them has poltergeist. All the family members experience the haunting until the entity focuses on the daughter. Did not give me the scare but enough for me to surf the internet to look for the movie's inspiration.
After the movie, bought cake at Red Ribbon for meryenda at home. Have a snack at Cafe France. And since I noticed the Instax 210 being used in the movie "Begin Again", decided to "play" with mine while waiting for my ride home. LOL
Would have a photo walk (plus food trip) at Binondo with Tilak Hettige at the helm. Have already asked my officemates who already had a food trip in the same area and got from them the places to eat and what (food suggestions). Initially, Tilak wanted to do the photo walk at Roxas Boulevard (again!) and told him I will send the invite but I will not join. That's four (4) times already of photo walks there.
Was the first to arrive at Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz, in front of the Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz (also known as Binondo Church). Sam and Tilak followed suit. Now, to wait for the rest of the "explorers".
Before starting the photo walk (my intention really is for a food trip LOL), Tilak gave a talk to the "explorers", giving tips on what and how to take photos. And of course, our first stop is breakfast at Cafe Mezzanine. This restaurant was featured in CNN as a place to try. Also, the income generated by this establishment is given to the fire volunteers.
Ordered Gokong Soup (a.k.a Soup No. 5), Kiampong and Xiao Lang Bao, as suggested by server Yolanda. The food is really a "storm". (wink) #ThumbsUp Unfortunately, the food is good, which made me full for the other food stops I intend to try. Even Tilak said he fell in love with the place.
After which, the group left to take photos. Was able to take a few. Bought fried siopao at Shanghai Fried Siopao. Must be their specialty. Weh!
The group is supposed to meet at Tasty Dumplings in Masangkay Street around 10AM. Tried their fried and steamed dumplings (have to given the name of the restaurant) and their winter melon juice. They are also known for their pork chop rice but I don't think I'll be able to eat more.
Before parting ways, Tilak again gave a talk and tips. Stopped at Eng Bee Tin to buy hopia.
Dropped my gear at home, change clothes and went to Glorietta. But first, passed by Pet Express to buy dog food for my dog and my nephew's.
Checked what was being shown in the cinemas. Don't feel like watching. So, window-shopped. While going to the rest room, almost (literally) bumped into a friend. Even had a quick snap with her with my Instax. Hehe!
Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at New Bombay.
My movie weekend and it will be a horror, thriller film supposedly inspired from the actual accounts of an NYPD police officer. Bought a discounted movie ticket for Deliver Us From Evil.
First had a quick lunch at Food Choices and bought an eco-bag at The Landmark.
New York police officer Ralph Sarchie is investigating an incident at the Bronx Zoo where a woman went crazy and threw her child into the lion pit. There are other incidents in the city which somehow is linked to this case. In the end, he has to join forces with an unconventional priest to combat the evil terrorizing the city. Noted the Benedictine Cross beads of the rosary, the Benedictine Cross and the latin message written on the Benedictine Cross.
After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at Bistro Ravioli.
