Scott Kelby's 2nd Worldwide Photo Walk--Sta. Rosa, Laguna Leg
Our photo walk leader would be announcing today the picture that would represent our leg of
Scott Kelby's 2nd Worldwide Photo Walk.
Who won? One of my entries. Yes!!!! c",)
It's Alive
(Writing this at Burger King, Glorietta...)Started early today.
First, brought my car to have it serviced for its regular maintenance. My goodness! it will make a hole in my pocket (the cost is almost 15K+).
Next, proceeded to the agreed watering hole. Would not be going if only I hadn't promise that I'd go. Even received an SMS when I was not in the venue on my estimated time. Oh, well...
I was dropped of at
MRT's Guadalupe station. Took the train and stepped off at Magallanes station. Decided to buy me the expansion pack for my favorite PC game. Was able to buy DVDs on Photoshop.
Thus, off to my usual weekly activity--movie!!! Decided to watch
It's Alive (I've seen all those currently being shown in the theaters). A horror, thriller movie about a baby who kills when it's hungry. The new mother knows; but, I guess, due to guilty conscience of initially trying to abort the baby, she tries to cover-up what the baby is doing. It's not scary.
After the movie, claimed the raffle tickets for the A-List Promo. Got me 20 raffle tickets. Then, decided to look for a store that is still selling black and white film. So far, no success.
Decided to have my late lunch at my usual haunt that offers free WiFi--
Burger King.
(Writing this at home...)With enough time in my hands. did some grocery. After which, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
a Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante.
Hair-y Potter
(Writing this at Burger King using their free WiFi while having my lunch...)It's my usual pampering... Timing considering my activities yesterday. I was the salon's very first customer. But first, bought me a
Harry Potter movie ticket so that I can watch the movie during its first week run.
(Writing this at home...)I love the movie... You just have to fill-up the blanks why the Half-Blood Prince did what he did. c",)
Photo, Photo, Photo
It's our office's camera club's monthly meeting. Aside from the monthly competition,
Atty. Raymond Fortun would be sharing tips on photography. He is a noted lawyer and photography enthusiast, mostly geared as events photographer (obviously, this is where the money is... Hehehe!)
He talks very well, is very engaging, as he shared tips on photography (including composition). He also judged our monthly photo contest--Black and White.
As soon as the seminar was through, went immediately to
Glorietta. This is where I will be picked-up on the way to participate in
Scott Shelby's 2nd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk. Breezed my way through lunch and waited at Glorietta 4 drop-off/pick-up point.
It was raining when we left Makati on the way to Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Good thing, the traffic is not that heavy. We parked at the mall, infront of our meeting place. Had
merienda at
Chowking before proceeding to Hamana Building. We were the first to arrive. Because of the rains, the supposed 50 participants dwindled to 20.
The photo walk was fun, but my shots were so-so. Since we somehow bonded, we ended up having dinner at
Kanin Club. In fact, after dinner, we also went to
Conti's, which has a nicer view. Won't skip that Mango Bravo. c",)
Arrived home around 11PM.
Crime and Investigation
For the past few days, something is afoot. Actually, I might have put my foot in my mouth. Hopefully, it will all be ironed out. (Oh! Bought me a wish fulfilling bird yesterday. Write down your wish in a scroll, roll-it up and place it in the bird's beak. Then, hang the bird flying to your home or office. But if you have problems, write them down, and hang the bird flying out of your home or office.)
Today, just before leaving the office, tried to reboot my PC. It won't boot up!!!!
My goodness! First, my personal PC. Now, even my office PC is conking out on me...
Hayyy.... And I don't even have a backup for my files.
Decided to add "Crime and Investigation" in my
SkyCable package. Actually, at home, I am the only one subscribed to SkyCable. The rest of the TVs at home uses
Destiny Cable. I liked the "Crime and Investigation" in Destiny Cable. Now, I don't have to view the channel outside my room.... hehehe!
Crash!!!
For several days, noticed that I can't read the contents of my secondary hard disk. Hope it is just lose connection. My secondary disk contains all the images I took!!!
Thus, first thing, went to the computer shop to have it looked into. I already asked yesterday if the technician would be available today. What I forgot to ask is what time the technician would be in today.
While waiting for the time, left the CPU at the store, bought photo filters (including a slim circular polarizer for my 16-35mm L), and purchased an
Asahi industrial fan with my
Sodexho. Then, had lunch at
Super Bowl. Finally, went back to the computer store.
Alas! The technician have already looked into it and there is no way to recover the files in my hard disk!!!
Hayyy.... Bought a replacement IDE hard disk.
Hannah Montana: The Movie
I've already watched most of the movies shown in the theaters. Thus, decided to watch
Hannah Montana: The Movie, which opened this week.
From the Disney franchise, it is now a movie.
Fearing that her daughter is already caught up with the trappings of fame, he sends her back in their hometown, Tennessee. Now, she is made to choose between the two worlds she enjoyed for so long. The movie is as expected... perky, funny, and love the music!
After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Italianni's.
Blessing
Was in our Makati office because have to attend a meeting. If it's not coincidence, the floor I am staying when I am in Makati as well as the lower floor would be blessed. Of course, there would be food!!! Of course, I'd be the unofficial photographer for the event.
Also, received a
pasalubong from Thailand. Nice...
The other night, been trying the concept about apterture and shutter speed for flash/strobe. Finally, got "proved" the concept.
Bounced flash, Fast shutter speed
Bounced flash, Slow shutter speed
Direct flash, Fast shutter speed
Fluffy
Was supposed to buy a collar for Tsubasa, my pomeranian dog. Went to
Bioresearch at
SM Megamall. Was not able to buy the collar I want but saw fighting fish for sale!!! Been dropping by the pet store to check if there is a fighting fish available. Wanted to replace Fifi. They said, the life span of the fighting fish is only six (6) months. Was able to have Fifi for one (1) year.
Framed Shots: Negative Space (Black and White)
Today is the monthly meeting of our camera club. This month's theme is "Black & White: Negative Space". Aside from the photo competition, there is also a lecture on
strobist. What I learned? Aperture controls the light fired by the flash, shutter speed controls the background. (",)
And guess what? One of my images (not shown) won 8th place!
(Whistles)
Villa Estrella
After doing the dirty work for two days, it's time to relax.
First, have my pictures and my friend's pictures printed.
Then, paid my bills.
After which, decided to withdraw some spending money. But the BPI ATMs are offline! Went around
Glorietta for an online ATM. Good thing, the kiosk at Glorietta 4 have a friendly staff and was monitoring the performance of the system. Should have inquired first before withdrawing because of the system problem. Logic? No idea.
Of course, watched my weekly movie. Decided to watch
Villa Estrella, an ABS-CBN presentation. A horror, thriller movie which brought a girl back to her past which somehow she managed to forget, with her ex-boyfriend. Their family's old resort would be renovated. But the bloody past of the resort would bring them in the path of the vengeance of restless spirits. I can't recall any movie I watched before with the same storyline--unlike the last episodes of
Totoy Bato which pattered itself with a Demi Moore movie.
Then, have keys duplicated, bought Advil and water for my headache and attended the anticipated Mass. We had dinner at
a Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante. Oh, also bought trash can and broom for my room... c",)
Am Back!
After eight (8) months, moved back to our house that was burned. Have to take a leave from office to be serious about the move. Whenever there's a holiday, that's when I try to clean-up to prepare the transfer.
What I expected to occur during the move happened. Oh, well...
