Laid To Rest
My Tatay is finally laid to rest today at
Sgt. Mariano Cemetery in Pasay City. His wake was at the
Rizal Funeral Homes. Now, my Nanay and Tatay are together in His Kingdom.
Last Wednesday, received a call in the office that Tatay was brought to the hospital. My Kuya brought him to the Emergency Room of the
Manila Adventist Medical Center (previously Manila Sanitarium). The doctor suggested that Tatay be at the ICU so he can be monitored overnight instead of in a regular room. He was actually giving jokes when we left him at the ICU. Thus, my Kuya and I are confident that Tatay would be leaving the ICU the following day.
Very early morning, my Kuya received a call from the hospital that we should go there. Tatay already had two flat lines, they have to revive him twice.
It is raining due to Typhoon Gener. But the rain is not as heavy as in the other parts of the country which already caused floods. When Tatay is about to enter the
Sta. Clara Parish Church, the sun shone--like its welcoming him. When we reached the cemetery. the rain only fell heavily when he is already infront of the tomb.
N.B. One of those who attended the funeral noticed a black and white butterfly near the tomb. It did not leave even if the rain is heavy. Could it be...?
L: Eternal rest grant unto the soul of Miguel Alcera, O Lord.
R: And let perpetual light shine upon him.
L: May he rest in peace.
R: Amen.
L: May the soul of Miguel ALcera and all the sols of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
R: Amen.
Photoshop Rises
Even with Typhoon Ferdie, still proceeded to the Basic Photoshop Workshop to assist the speaker. Many streets are flooded that from 14 who registered for the workshop, only 3 were able to make it. Since the 2 came from Laguna, we just have to push thru with the workshop.
The workshop ended around 1PM and the 3 students seemed to get a lot from it.
Was dropped off at
Glorietta, had lunch at
Food Choices and watched
The Dark Knight Rises.
With Batman in recluse after assuming the blame for the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman (or Bruce Wayne) has to come to terms in order to save Gotham from the ruthless plan of a masked terrorist, Bane. Batman also encounters a cunning cat burglar whose mysterious agenda somehow brought Batman out of his self-imposed recluse.
Although there's action, the movie tackled more on the character; which is unlike other superhero movies. The treatment may be different, but is effective. There's also a twist at the end. Although, I already have a nagging feeling about it in the beginning... hmmm. Thumbs up for this movie. In fact, the people in the cinema clapped at the end of the film to show their appreciation.
Then, attended the anticipated Mass, had dinner and went home.
Idle
Does not feel watching the movie currently being shown. Thus, went to
Claudette's (again) to buy a Cloud 9 cake (again). LOL
Since I forgot my keys in the office, walked my way to it while capturing images for
Instagram's weekend hashtag #
lowdownground
Then, proceeded to
Glorietta, waiting for the anticipated Mass.
After, had dinner at
Gerry's Grill.
The Amazing Spider-Man
Hair-pampering day.
Finally, watched
The Amazing Spider-Man. One of the several releases of Spiderman movies. This time, it tries to present the relationship among the characters and Spiderman being human.
After the movie, went to
National Bookstore, bought a roll at
Red Ribbon and proceeded home.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
My movie weekend is
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter in 3D.
Based on the novel with the same title, the movie attempts to "explore" the secret life of America's 16th President and one of their greatest presidents. Mixing imagination with facts (same formula used by the writer of
The Da Vinci Code less the supernatural), the movie is a "happy" ride on a silly premise in a serious tone. It even injected a "what if" scenario in the last scene between Abraham Lincoln and Henry Sturgess... just my active imagination, I guess. Hehehe!
Then, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Super Bowl.
