Spy
My movie weekend and I choose
Spy. So, bought discounted ticket for the movie.
Since I still have time for my 1:45PM screening, bought water at
Mercury Drug, sewing kit at
The Landmark (where I also had lunch at the food court). Since the shoes I wear for the office needs to be replaced (the leather are now scratched), went first to
Via Venetto. BTW the mall is on SALE! My requirement is 1 1/2 inch heel and leather should be soft. Since the shoe I preferred does not have my size, went back to "The Landmark" to buy
Rusty Lopez shoes I spotted earlier, instead. Then, searched for
Wet Ones. I really don't understand why this product is always out of stock. Hehehe!
A CIA Analyst, Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy), volunteers to go undercover as the cover of the agency's spies has been exposed and are being targetted. An action film that is fun. #ThumbsUp
After the movie, attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner
Bistro Ravioli. Went back again to "The Landmark" to buy some groceries but sidetracked to buy blouses on sale. Then, went to
Daiso Japan where I bought wet wipes. The cashier is so helpful because she changed my purchase with the one that has free facial tissues. c",)
Interment
Today would be the interment of Uncle Terry at
Manila Memorial Park. It will be after the 2:30PM Mass. Going with me is Vangie and Edgar would drive us.
Kuya would not be going.
I became the unofficial photographer. Usually, the family of the deceased don't think about taking photos. But I think, even in this instances, it is nice to have memory of it.
For our
pagpag, we ate at
Pancake House in
Magallanes. Once I arrived home, burned the photos I took to a CD so I can give it to my cousin. Used my Canon printer to print on a CD for the first time.
Para Sa Hopeless Romantic
It is our company's sportsfest. Will be at
SM Arena around 8AM. The programme will start at 9AM.
Aside from the free shirt, I attend the sportsfest due to cool air. It is hot lately. Hehe! The hosts are Luis Manzano and Carla Abellana. They're pretty cool, specially Luis Manzano, who got his wit from his dad, Edu Manzano.
Around 10:30AM, left to proceed to
Glorietta. Bought discounted movie ticket for "Para Sa Hopeless Romantic". Because I still have time, decided to tick-off some items on my list.
Went to
Rustan's to buy a
Pacsafe backpack. It will be the bag I would bring on weekends. Because of the back pain I am experiencing lately, made research by surfing. Weh! One of the causes of back pain is the bag. It is suggested that it should only weigh at most 10% of your body weight. Was able to remove some items from the bag I bring to the office. Still need to remove 2kg. Also the best bag is a backpack; but, you should be wearing it with both straps on.
Had lunch at
Food Choices before my movie.
Based on a Wattpad novel, "Para Sa Hopeless Romantic" is about a student writer who is unable to come up with a happy ending on her novel because her real life romance fell apart. What is funny are the audience who are making
kilig.
After the movie, decided to tick-off more items. Among them is a whistle and small flashlight. Would have this with me all the time in case of emergency. Because of the West Valley Fault and the likelihood of it moving and causing a 7.2 magnitude earthquake, everyone is on the edge including me.
Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at
Yabu. It is our first time here. The server kindly explained to us how it is.
We were given a bowl of sesame seeds where we have to grind it until it is powder. Then, put in three scoops of sauce. This will be our sauce for our katsu. For the salad, we have the choice of Goma, Shouyu and Wasabi. Goma is popular. We ordered the Kurobuta Premium Set and Seafood Katsu Set plus one "to share" just by adding PhP100.00. Each set has unlimited rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, cabbage sesame dressing and bowl of fruit. Since we are three, we ordered one "to share" (we would be sharing the main dish) so that the 3rd in our party will have her own rice, soup, pickles, cabbage salad and bowl of fruit.
Last night, went to
Funeraria Paz for the wake of Uncle Terry, the husband of Mommy Cora (+). Interment would be tomorrow.
Flores De Mayo
Finally, saw not one, but two, Flores de Mayo which passed in front of our house. This is usually celebrated during the month of May.
One can easily mix Flores de Mayo and Santacruzan. Heard the difference in one of the radio stations.
Flores de Mayo can be participated by any one (children, teeners, adults). As the name implies, it is "flowers of May". An offering of flowers in honor of our Mama Mary.
Maggie
Walked my way to
Glorietta for my 10,000 steps.
Wanted to watch
Para Sa Hopeless Romantic, was late for the screening that I would still be able to attend the anticipated Mass. So bought a discounted movie ticket for
Maggie instead.
But first, had lunch at
Food Choices. That's when I noticed a man making a scene in one of the food stalls. Heard him say "
kilala mo ba ako?" (translation: do you know me?) and "
mas mayaman ka ba sa akin?" (translation: are you richer than me?). No matter what the server in the food stall did, he (customer) did not have the right.
Yabang! (translation: ego, arrogant).
Now, for my movie...
Maggie's dad defiantly takes care of her after being infected by the zombie plague. If you expect action with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead, will be disappointed. But this movie is about the relationship of a father and his daughter. Drama; but I like it because of how the movie ended and what was inevitable.
After the movie, bought groceries including the back scratcher requested by
Nana. Attended the anticipated Mass and we had dinner at
Bistro Ravioli.
Big Game
Walked my way to
Glorietta for my 10,000 steps. But first, bought a ticket for
Big Game via
mPass.
Had lunch of my favorite Spinach and Feta Cheese Ravioli at
Bistro Ravioli, and bought bubble wrap at
National Bookstore so that the old laptop I gave to my Nana's niece's son can be delivered to Bicol.
When Air Force One was shot down by terrorists, a teenager camping in the woods for his "manhood" ritual helped the President of the United States to survive against those hunting him (President). Action, humor. I enjoyed the film.
Attended the anticipated Mass and had dinner at
Bulgogi Brothers.

No Movies
Walked along Ayala Avenue and the walkway towards
Glorietta for my 10,000 steps. It took me 2,500 steps. Have no plans of watching a movie as I think I already watched those I wanted to watch that is being shown in the theatres.
Have a Mongolian bowl lunch at
Food Choices, buy more surgical masks at
Mercury Drug, tops at
Uniqlo that is on sale, clear book at
National Bookstore so I can file all my medical test results, and fishball as snacks at Food Choices (again) before my anticipated Mass.
After the anticipated Mass, had dinner at
Kaya.
Tomorrow, will "slowly" clean my bedroom with the help of Mary (meaning, it will take several Sundays to completely clean my bedroom).
Lately, I have noticed that if I do something, it is because something will happen. For example, I replaced the TV in my bedroom. Because of what happened to Nana, wherein she has to stay in Paolo's old room, put my old TV in her room. Then there's the walking cane I bought Nana (which she did not use). Because of his attack, Kuya has to borrow the walking cane. Now, I am cleaning my bedroom and organizing my medical test results. I pray, in His mercy, nothing untoward will happen to me.
Labor Day Movie Marathon
A holiday and, according to the news, will be very hot--even suggesting if there is nothing to do to just stay home. Actually, the best advise is to be at the mall--at least, enjoy the air-condition.
So, decided to do a movie marathon. Bought discounted movie tickets for
Child 44 and
Barely Lethal. Then, bought a Robinsons Rewards Card at
Daiso Japan. My first point/s is buying an eyeglasses case. Then went to
Mary Mother of Hope Chapel. Had lunch at
The Landmark's food court.
For "Child 44", in post-World War II Russia, the Russian government's stand is that murder is a sickness of capitalism--that there's no murder in paradise (Russia). But a series of child murders (being covered up) and a wrong decision has MGB investigator Leo's life turned upside down, to the point of him and his wife's life being threatened. Basically, the movie is showing the life in Russia in the 1950s.
Since have time for my next movie, went to
True Value (store is on sale) where I was able to buy a UV toothbrush sanitizer. Does it work? c",) Another set of points for my Robinsons Rewards Card. Also bought Sangobion for Lyn at the
Mercury Drug for her anemia (result of her annual physical exam shows very low red cells). Good thing there is a promo pack wherein if you buy 7 tablets you get 1 free.
My second movie, "Barely Lethal", have 83, who studied in a secret academy that trains little girls to be assassins, wanting to lead a normal life. Able to fake her death, she managed to pose herself as a foreign exchange student. Only knows what high school life is from the movies she watched, she gets more than what she bargained for.
